"A likely politics degree course essay over the next couple of years? Has Brexit changed our democracy forever?" Technically the answer is no. As Brexit has not actually happened. What has occurred is that there has been a push by the right wing controlled media to show that what was an advisory referendum should not be subject to any legislative scrutiny that is part or our parliamentary democracy. With this agenda they have managed to create a hostile environment where the normal checks and balances are portrayed as treasonous and usurping “the will of the people”... | |||
