Not banned, just their excess assets stripped away and given to the people. Failing that they will be first against the wall when the great revolution begins

If they can get to be billionaires whilst paying their workers a decent wage, making sure they have enough staff so their workers aren't doing the jobs of 3 or more people and just treat them like actual human beings, then I don't care... But I am pretty sure these people are only in their position because of major exploration of others, in one way or another

Not sure really I assume there are the majority who made their billions through legitimate means although I do however disagree with the hoarding of a nations finances to be placed into offshore accounts and think there should be a lot more transparency as to where that money came from unlike what the Tories are trying to pull just now.

Strip assets remove any motivation to create that amount of money and the benefits that it brings nope.

Just make the big corporations and individuals pay tax properly.

It was one persons opinion anyway on a radio show. No need for the Fab Billionaires to up sticks and head to the nearest tax haven just yet.

This is what he said:

“There are 150 billionaires in the UK while 14 million people live in poverty. In a fair society there would be no billionaires and no one would live in poverty.”

I don't see the word ban anywhere - just a desire for a more even distribution of wealth across the country.

This. It's completely fucked up for people like Jeff Bezos to have so much money that he and his family would never be able to spend yet there are people dying of hunger, lack of clear water, healthcare and the Amazon workers are exploited with the company paying 0, literally 0 taxes.

I am a Monopoly Billionaire

If they are stripped of their wealth and it is evenly distributed to the many, then we are becoming communists, just like in Cuba...

Go to Cuba see a communist country, see how a person looks at you then looks at the 1 Cuc (50p) you gave him for helping you when you was lost. I have never seen anyone look at that coin the way he did. Not a single child when you gift them money nor a homeless person, I will never forget that moment.

The problem is media paints JC as a loony lefty so people automatically assume he is. But if you stop and listen to his actual words, he keeps talking sense!!

I suppose we have a natural aversion to politicians who want a fair inclusive society where disputes are resolved with words not bullets, and government money is spent on self funding projects like utilities, social housing etc.

Well that is your opinion. It is a much broader issue than that. If your expectations of a just society with equal opportunity and social mobilty that people are clothed, not starving and access to clean water, thats pretty low. What about access to health and education, should that just be for those that can pay?

"Amazon workers are exploited with the company paying 0, literally 0 taxes."

Another media myth, they may be bad employers, but people choose to work for them. And they pay all due taxes, in the UK that is the VAT and paye on all employees wages, and rates etc. On all UK properties. However the corporation is based in Luxembourg so the corporation tax is paid there.

Hardly any billionaires are made though, you could earn 100k a year tax free and wouldn’t be a billionaire in this lifetime. The vast majority of billionaires are born into wealth.

The fact there is people in this country that could literally never spend all of their wealth whilst there’s kids starving is disgusting

Away for Christmas

Banning, no. That would be stupid.

It needs to be more difficult for "the rich get richer" to be a thing while "the poor get poorer" is also happening.

Its not easy to achieve but it definitely needs to be a target.

Nurses using food banks, people starving and homeless while some rich guy gets to do a Scrooge Mcduck in his vault of money... They could live their entire life and not spend it all.

Very few billionaires are actually earning their own money at this point anyway, it is usually they have been born in to wealth and they reap the benefits of that.

Usually through owning or having shares in some big company exploiting their customers through questionable practices.

"Poverty to me is having virtually no food, clothing or decent sanitation"

That was how you defined poverty, which in all frankness sounds like a Dickensian nightmare. It is world away for this:

And did those feet in ancient time

Walk upon England's mountains green?

And was the holy Lamb of God

On England's pleasant pastures seen?

And did the countenance divine

Shine forth upon our clouded hills?

And was Jerusalem builded here

Among those dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!

Bring me my arrows of desire!

Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!

Bring me my chariot of fire!

I will not cease from mental fight

Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand

Till we have built Jerusalem

In England's green and pleasant Land

Maybe not poverty in the sense of destitute, without any food or home.

However there are hundreds of thousands living hand to mouth every week, dreading any bill which they cant afford.

Sure we all make our own luck to some degree, but the vast majority of the country dont see how many live, and quite often would rather not.

Re poverty.

I know people who lost everything through addiction or mental health issues.

It’s all very well saying there are too many handouts, but it really is all a house of cards. It’s very easy to end up on the streets and caught in a poverty trap.

I guess the attitude comes from being lucky enough to not have experienced that.

The principle of what they are trying to say, which is inequality has grown etc is correct but the headlines / wording is poor.

The richest 1% pay 27% of all the taxes , which is great. What needs to happen is they need to pay more. But that cannot be the only answer. Those who dont contribute but have no valid reason not to work shouldn't just be given everything, or they have no reason to work.

Banning the rich, if that was possible would lead to less money in tax for the poor!!

As has been mentioned a few times in the thread, and which has been ignored. Corbyn is not about "banning" billionaires but is questioning the fact that a relatively small handful of people own more than the bulk of the population.

Mostly through the inheritance of property and land, i.e. they've not worked hard to earn in, just had ancestors who were in the right place at the right time and were able to avoid paying too much tax along the way.

They do not "filter down" this wealth, but keep it locked up, and out of the economy. All he has said so far is that tax laws need to be tightened to ensure the people (and companies) in that top 1% pay their dues.

Why would anyone disagree with that?

Giving benefits to people who do not work?

Okay.

The welfare state originally was designed to look after those absolutely incapable of work - the elderly, the infirm, the disabled etc.

The country couldn't afford welfare for all.

Anyone able to work was guaranteed work - in a nationalised industry.

So we paid people to work, rather than not to work.

That was the consensus from 1942 for the next four decades or so.

Fast forward to the early 1980s and that link was severed by the reforms of Thatcher.

She scrapped nationalised industry.

So we started paying people NOT to work.

This was never the intention of the welfare state.

Corbyn has inherited land.In Shropshire, he and his brother Piers, an altogether different bloke got it from their parents.

Chance would be a fine thing, being from a mining family there's not much hope of anyone leaving or giving us a convenient parcel of land anytime soon.

IMO there should be a limit to wealth and assets once you reach billionaire status. The effect of that is it opens the door for others to start their business and create entrepreneur spirit, uplift the masses rather than minimum wages while billionaires buy out competitors and pay others the bare minimum.

Any multi million/billion aires worth their salt are not paying anywhere near the tax that little people pay as a per cent age of income so those that go won’t be costing much. There was a very good documentary on this called Benefits Britain 1949. It took individuals from modern day and had them live on the benefits they would have had in 1949 based on there circumstances.

It’s a true reminder / eye opener of what they were truly bought in for

Each episode is an hour long and featured on one story at a time, including a pensioner, a disabled man, an immigrant, someone who had worked 22 years but now injured, a single mum. They lived by the rules of 1949, benefits and support they would have had then. It’s an opener, heart breaking in some places, but also a good insight into what it was created for

Definitely ! re distribute the wealth we have. There are far too many poor people on the planet struggling .We need to review and look again at how we use/move money around and to who we give it to . Hard work brings reward but theres no need for people to take the mick is there ?

Saw someone on here huffing about the 'idle poor' FYI not a lot of poor people are idle my friend . A lot however have been completely unlucky in life thats all . There are some out there , lazy , feckless who contribute very little to society and that needs changing 100% . I do not respect anyones right to sit on their bum all day expecting the state to pay for them , their kids and their smoking and drinking habits. That in my opinion is unfair on anyone who gets up in the morning to make an honest buck..

Similarly though but in another way ..

We don't need Billionnaires at the other end of the scale upsetting the balance we just need a much fairer and equal society that is not based purely on greed or wanting handouts .. .. one day it might just happen . Personally I hope that day comes very soon :/

"Amazon workers are exploited with the company paying 0, literally 0 taxes.

Another media myth, they may be bad employers, but people choose to work for them. And they pay all due taxes, in the UK that is the VAT and paye on all employees wages, and rates etc. On all UK properties. However the corporation is based in Luxembourg so the corporation tax is paid there."

Actually the paye is deducted from staff salaries and any output vat is paid to them by the customers paying vat . It's not coming out of their profits

"

There was a very good documentary on this called Benefits Britain 1949. It took individuals from modern day and had them live on the benefits they would have had in 1949 based on there circumstances.

It’s a true reminder / eye opener of what they were truly bought in for

Each episode is an hour long and featured on one story at a time, including a pensioner, a disabled man, an immigrant, someone who had worked 22 years but now injured, a single mum. They lived by the rules of 1949, benefits and support they would have had then. It’s an opener, heart breaking in some places, but also a good insight into what it was created for

Sounds fascinating - I must search for it."

It was interesting, you’ll find it on YouTube ... 2013 series, Benefits Britain 1949

Just remember that other than the 6 individuals everyone is acting a character from that time and how things were said.

I don't agree with much that's being said on here. So what if people are born rich. Somebody somewhere would have worked hard to get that wealth. Would you not want your wealth or assets passed on to your children after you have died?

Rich people employ a lot of people, they also spend lots of money which keep industries etc employing lots of people.

Take away the richest , the economy goes pear shaped creating massive unemployment. As they say, money makes the world go around.

JC was attacking bad bosses like Mike Ashley, employers who have all their workforce on zero hour contracts and people who are so scared to miss a shift they give birth in the work toilets. Seems a fair point to me.

I'm not sure but I think the divide between rich and poor is increasing.

I watched a documentary about California the other night and was shocked to learn even through its the richest state 1.5m people have no clean running water! And they have 7 hundred thousand homeless, people living in cars and even inside the structure of rail bridges. All this while there are 10+ million doller houses up the road.

"As long as they pay UK taxes what is the problem? They don't cost anyone anything ... "

Er, um . . . do you know how much tax is evaded by these people squirrelling their money away in tax havens offshore.

And why it is most fortunate for them the UK is due to leave the EU just as new European regulations come into force to close their tax loopholes.

I think the perceived problem with billionaires is that’s an extraordinary amount of money. It allows you to exert an undue amount of influence and effectively makes you above the law.

This is a potential vote winner for Corbyn as he is running on a hard socialist ticket.

I don’t see how anyone could have a “normal” life with that much money. I’ve a friend with enough money that security is a nightmare and he can’t tell people where he is/will be in advance. He just flits between houses and cruises and is basically a tax exile. And that’s 1-2% of the amount of money we’re talking about here.

False take away the richest and new rich arise, and power will be spread the living standard will be raised, of course, they will be a dip before the raise the only difference is the old rich will be a giant gatekeeper.

I'd have to say it the problem is capitalist as long as the mentality is to buy, conquer, every person for themselves nothing will change. The whole system needs to be changed on a global scale internationally.

Banned is probably the wrong word I do think there should be a limit — for asset, wealth, company, buying, royalty etc.

You’re right, I don’t know you or how much tax you’ve paid, and there’s one reason for that, I’d have read about you if you were that successful (like the billionaires for example).

One thing you’ve managed to let slip is that you’re also not in the higher tax bracket of business owners either, because if you were, you wouldn’t resent them as much as your post suggests you do. It’s all very well romanticising about a Robin Hood government, but do remember, a prince of thieves, is still a thief.

Take it you’ve never flown virgin or rode their train? Or used Microsoft Word, or bought anything from Amazon then? If you’re wondering why I ask, they’re all businesses supplying products and services many of us use and owned by....yep....billionaires. If you can honestly say no, then fair enough. How would you feel if they told you to work a bit harder like they have and you contribute a bit more? The fact they do pay more by virtue of working harder than you, helps prop up much of the population. As the the saying goes, you can do 99 things for someone, and all they’ll remember is the 1 thing you didn’t do.

The same as you would imagine . However, simple fact if you earn more then you pay more tax . You don't end up broke because of it and your business still survives . You just pay a little more back relative to the slice of money you make .

I'm happy with that .

They have plenty of choice. Choosing to stop at a pay grade, or be limited by one due to qualifications or ambition, or remaining in employment where your tax is deducted at source, is a choice. I appreciate your sentiment, but bashing the rich for not paying enough when they pay almost infinitely more than you or I, doesn’t make it right. All it seeks to achieve is showing resentment towards those who chose an alternative path, work their bollocks off for it, and earn themselves the right to have more control over their finances.

There aren’t many people who could honestly say that the tax they paid last year, or for some, in a bloody life time, would come close to paying for their live saving operation etc etc (and the etc’s are mahoosive) without the extras lobbed in by the wealthy.

Not sure if you understand or just doggedly heading on your own path ? There was no contradiction I assure you .

Further ,yes as far as giving something back goes I do try to avoid the big companies like we all should .

Generally I am conscious of the impact of large conglomorates and large companies and their possible /actual effect .So yes I buy UK made goods from small businesses where I can and eat generally UK grown farm shop produce where I can also .Sometimes there are no other options .Sometimes in business parts and raw goods need importing from a less ethical source but needs must according to supply chain .

However, with a little care and planning everyone can make a difference no matter how small without putting money in the pockets of the bigger companies. I think that is a good thing . Similarly consuming less and creating more is important too . Whatever we do to make a living we should do it ethically, carefully and to improve our lives . However we should also consider doing that so that it will help in some way all of us not just one or two .

"This is what he said:

“There are 150 billionaires in the UK while 14 million people live in poverty. In a fair society there would be no billionaires and no one would live in poverty.”

I don't see the word ban anywhere - just a desire for a more even distribution of wealth across the country.8

If you listen to JC, he is a swivel eyed loon...

He would kill any financial motivation for people to do well.

He is looking at getting rid of inheritance tax and replacing it with a Life time gifts allowance of £125,000.

At the moment approx 640,000 people a year pay inheritance tax, under the LTG it would be 10 million.

He wants to privatise rail, the utility companies and Dianne Abbott has worked out it will cost the country 38p to do that.

He says he wants to improve the NHS, yes remove immigration caps.

The schools and NHS can't cope already due to the contracts signed under TB.

He will give free university education, look at refunding student debt etc.

He doesn't support our armed forces or security services, is in the pay of Iranian tv, I could go on and on and on...

"if you take away the benifits of being rich, whats the motivation to work hard???

..so I am not a billionaire avoiding tax...I work hard, whats my motivation? I help people...& pay tax."

And as grateful as we all are for your tax, just how much do you think that your contribution personally, benefits society? Those F35s, soldiers salaries, NHS, teachers etc don’t come cheap (and nor should they. Thank god for the big contributors like billionaires, even if their contributions aren’t quite as big as you or your mates think they should be.

"Sorry if this should be in politics. But should Billionaires be banned. Jeremy seems to think so.

Banning someone for making a success of themselves, paying enormous amounts of tax, whilst providing some awesome products and services for billions of people? Errr....nah.

Whilst making a further profit through selling these awesome products and services and paying pretty much nothing back to the state at all ? Ask Jeff Bezos/Amazon/Google how much tax they pay?

That is a fair and equal society is it ?

Bet they paid more than you though! Ask any business owner, minimising tax payments is part of what they have to do. Bet you’ve never looked at your wage slip and thought ‘ah bollocks, can I pay more tax please because I’m doing alright this month’ pmsl

Right ! You know this needs to stop .

You don't know how much I paid ..but it would surprise you ! I am a business owner not a billionaire ( OP referred to billionaires you will find) .So regardless of IR35 or PAYE we are small fish my friend!

Yes,the basic rule is you minimise tax where you can in order to build a better business and contribute back. That is how an ethical company works .Suggest you read about them if in doubt . I also suggest a lot of the billionaires out there do not contribute anything back to anyone and just sit on their arses making money out of everyone . Especially those who avoid paying any tax. That is unfair is it not?

Well done for managing to contradict yourself so eloquently! Genius

But if you have, then you’ve just scored an own goal again

Resent? I see no resentment, just facts. I buy from companies many of whom are owned by billionaires/millionaires, hard to avoid TBH, I try to avoid the unethical ones in terms of tax dodging as mentioned by our businessman, but I do believe the blame lies with our (successive) governments who create the tax laws & fail to close loopholes, as you point out no one ever said 'I will pay an extra tenner in tax this month' but most normal tax payers pay what they are supposed to with little choice & no tax avoidance.

I have no resentment, unless the rich are exploitative, many (in the bracket we are discussing) do not pay their tax, do not lob in as you put it. Many do philanthropic work, but in the most part if you look proportionately at tax, the more you earn the less you can pay, plus proportionately all the stuff you buy costs more of your income if you are poor, electricity isn't charged for on ability to pay, in fact many pay as you use token schemes pay more per unit.

"Not sure if you understand or just doggedly heading on your own path ?

"

So people who haven’t got much money then should shop elsewhere rather from the big companies that are much cheaper. I have my own business and often I can’t compete with the big boys but to expect people to buy from me rather than somewhere cheaper is ridiculous. This is the real world.

"I personally disagree with the government definition of poverty. Poverty to me is having virtually no food, clothing or decent sanitation.

Well that is your opinion. It is a much broader issue than that. If your expectations of a just society with equal opportunity and social mobilty that people are clothed, not starving and access to clean water, thats pretty low. What about access to health and education, should that just be for those that can pay?"

Over the years I have been in many council houses/flats where the children are sleeping on mattresses on the floor with no bedding etc, yet they have a 55" tv, an xbox one, a playstation, fags everywhere and often drug paraphernalia.

A lot of poverty is self inflicted.

Oh I think the products and services offered by the billionaires of this world help quite a few people globally. It might even explain why they’re billionaires in the first place, you know, the sheer volume of people buying into their services because they need or want it.

Chances are, it’s a billionaire that’s allowing this debate to take place right now. Many of us will be using devices/software etc built by them that make it possible.

Ps; never did I say we should make them exclusive either. I support the little guy more than a lot of people claim to, but that doesn’t have to mean I become a person who also berates the wealthy....and then show my 50 faces by using their services and products.

The whole argument is moot anyway. It’s a political straw man.

The are only 200 billionaires in the world. I doubt many live in the U.K.

"Hardly any billionaires are made though, you could earn 100k a year tax free and wouldn’t be a billionaire in this lifetime. The vast majority of billionaires are born into wealth.

The fact there is people in this country that could literally never spend all of their wealth whilst there’s kids starving is disgusting

£100,000 a year is nothing for a lot of people, I know of one guy through work that spends more than that a month on socialising.

I know he does £60,000 on wine a month, not for investing...

60 grand a month on wine!! Do you have his number

Seriously enough, if he earned it then good for him. "

Unfortunately I don't know him, I know a restaurateur who sells him £15,000 of wine a week and that's just one bottle...

Reading a comment a couple above.

I’m sorry but none of them are going to being this country back together, they’ve all shown over the last three years how they can’t work together to unite and deliver what the country voted for

They are spinning, as they always do what they think the public want to hear and most will fall for what’s being said by all parties, without actually thinking about the consequences of how all these promises are going to be paid for

You’ve got no chance lol! You might as well chase a rainbow. That £34bn (and I’ll assume it’s correct and from a credible source) is more than likely, and allegedly owed, by the organisations that make rather large donations to political parities that will allow them to pay less in the first place lol. Assuming they aren. I’ll also assume everyone commenting on how much these massive firms either pay or don’t pay, have gone to companies house (or similar) paid for the full accounts, read them, made an informed opinion and not just asked Google or believed what the Daily Sport has told them. (I do actually love the Daly Sport, honestly).

Do you have any figures for the percentage splits of total tax revenues, ie that contributed by the rich as lots in here like to call em (ie higher rate tax payers) versus the rest? That would be interesting.

It's not difficult to find evidence of Corbyn and his shadow cabinet supporting terrorists and making unsupportive comments about our military and police.

He is not talking about a few immigrants to help out the NHS.

He is talking unlimited immigration.

He is looking at taking money from the so called middle classes, under him that will include Dr's, nurses, police, fire personnel etc as they pretty much all earn above the national average.

We have seen what a Labour mayor has done for London.

We would end up impoverished with a weak military, communities devastated when investors moved their wealth elsewhere.

Even if a billionaire pays reduced taxes, his businesses still put a massive amount of money into the economy, they buy utilities to run their businesses, their staff pay taxes and spend their money in local shops, pubs etc.

Look at Venezuela, an oil rich country in absolute poverty and Corbyn admires their system, obviously Corbyn would do it better, because that what all communists say.

"This is what he said:

“There are 150 billionaires in the UK while 14 million people live in poverty. In a fair society there would be no billionaires and no one would live in poverty.”

I don't see the word ban anywhere - just a desire for a more even distribution of wealth across the country.8

I would rather you didn't ! Or at least if you did tried to use your own words not someone else's rhetoric . JC will be the best thing to happen to most of us . We need a change in how the country is managed at least for s while .He is not anti forces? ( although if you research you will see that the numbers of armed forces are lower now under Tories than any other time !Same as the police actually ) .

The NHs is in trouble and we need immigrants to come and work here .Without them the system will break .Eventually that could change IF more UK nationals train to be nurses doctors etc but right now. The UK and it's people are in trouble . We are a country divided that has to come back together . That can only happen if everyone feels like it's working again and that involves everyone working together for a common aim . Not individuals and self serving sycophants lining their pockets .

Things need to change and fast or we are all going to hell in a handcart of that there is no doubt .

He is a dangerous idealist that the gullible and foolish believe in.

Any government needs a good opposition and Labour have failed in that roll.

I'd be very surprised if anyone gets far enough down this thread to read this.. But here it gous anyway!

To put it in context of how much a billionaire has, if we think of time a million seconds in 12 days. A billion seconds is 31 years.

Nobody needs a billion pounds. Its unspendable.

Also, nobody is suggesting stripping assets or wild draconian takeovers. In fact, Corbyn supports business and acknowledges the positive impact business can make to innovation etc. However, the argument is that I regulated business, where taxes for the highest earners are low are people are able to avoid paying taxes is unethical.

The UK is in a crisis. Academic reports repeatedly come out that demonstrate increasing levels of poverty, increased use of food banks, parents literally starving, disabled people left left socially isolated because of harsh changes to the benefits system.

Corbyn may not be perfect. But at least there is compassion there. There is a desire to close the gap between rich and poor and make lives better for ordinary people when they need it most.

Gotta love when someone gets their politics from The Daily Mail!

Corbyn's not a Communist. I'd type it 1000 times, but I doubt it would make a difference.

Incidentally, who would he sell this country to, if neither Russia or China are communist any more?

And why is it bad for Corbyn to sell us off when it is already happening and is almost a done deal. This country was a trade item a long long time ago.

"Never going to end poverty, but a more even distribution of wealth is surely a good thing. Not sure using the US as a yardstick is useful

I teach economics, please explain to me like a child......

How would you redistribute wealth?

"

Personally I've always thought that a bad phrase to use. It's not really accurate, in regard to what it's describing, and it immediately puts people's hackles up...

In a town Fab forgot

"Comrade Corbyn is a huge risk to national security. He'll sell this country into communist Hell in a heartbeat.

This country was a trade item a long long time ago."

I wouldn't wipe my arse with the Daily Fail, let alone read it.

I think the downfall of communism/socialism has made people forget, what’s it really like to have the government have absolute power over peoples lives....

Nationalization of any part of society is never good for the people in the long run.....

The less power the government has , the better life is for the people....

Socialism has not failed, it's been mainstream politics for the last hundred or so years.

The cornerstones of this countries society are built on it. The NHS, the welfare state, education etc.

Surprisingly even the most right wing voters are quite happy with Socialist projects, if you don't name it out loud.

Re-nationalisation of the railways for example is about one of the most popular policies across the board.

Thank you for this intelligent response..... it’s very refreshing to learn something.....

So explain to me ....... what safeguards does your government have in place to stop overspending?

Overspending has always been the Achilles heel of any socialist government......

The Socialist NHS ??

A Conservative Health Minister published the first NHS White Paper:

Sir Henry Willink published A National Health Service in 1944, which proposed a free and comprehensive health service.

'Our plan is a service which will provide the best medical advice and treatment for everyone, every man, woman and child in this country, whatever your income… there will be no charge for treatment.'

Over 70 years ago, he set out the values which the NHS stills works to today.

He said: 'This has got to be not only a full service, but also a really human and personal service' and 'we could build up good health, instead of just trying to mend bad health.'

Can the Socialists refrain from claiming the NHS please !!

"This is what he said:

“There are 150 billionaires in the UK while 14 million people live in poverty. In a fair society there would be no billionaires and no one would live in poverty.”

I don't see the word ban anywhere - just a desire for a more even distribution of wealth across the country.8

He said he'd give free university education, got the youth vote, then reneigned on the promise.

Don't you have to be in power to be able to do what you said you would ?

Give it time ..its on the way

God help us "

Only the non believers need to worry

Proper taxation. It's no good hiding the fact, this stuff needs paying. Giving tax breaks to large corporations and wealthy individuals is what has partially caused problems in the system.

However, the good news is that, properly run, some of the services can be self funding (or else why were they bought during privatisations?).

The better news is that these services are cheaper to the individual when not run for pure profit.

An average American's health insurance is much more than my NI contributions, and for that we get a better service, that also costs the Government less.

The magic here being keeping private businesses out of the mix. They really have no place in services such as health or education, why siphon off funding into shareholders hands, it makes no sense to the individual citizen or the government.
