Why do you trust Johnson?

This is mainly a question for Johnson fans.

He was sacked twice for lying. Even if you discount all his political lies, doesn't that fact worry you? Why do you trust him to tell the truth about anything?

Do you trust Johnson to tell the truth, though? That was the original question. I'm wondering if anybody will come on here and say they do at this point.

If johnstone is the best of the bunch we have we are screwed.

Question.

Why is jeremy corbyn a bigger c u n *. ?

Whats he done in your eyes that makes him so bad?

We have had nothing but the status quo for decades why not just give a guy a chance thats a bit different to what weve had.

If corbyn doesnt win this time chances are he will step down as leader and another status quo leader will come in and we have decades more of the same.

This is our only chance to go with somthing different for real change.

If it doesnt work out hey its only 4 years and at least we can say we tried.

Ive honestly no idea how anyone literally anyone could vote for the torys after everything thats gone on.

Im not talking about just brexit either, everything since Cameron and austerity.

I'm baffled when i hear how the torys are so far ahead in the polls.

I dont think people should judged corbyn until hes been in power, but all i hear is oh hes a terrorist sympathisers, hes anti semetic blah blah blah.

I think he speaks sense a lot and has good ideas for policies.

His manifesto last general election was the only one fully costed and had some great things in which im sure will be the same this time.

But alas people will vote for the idiot liar that acts like a lovable buffoon.

the land of saints & sinners

I wonder how anyone can morally justify supporting someone who is a known liar and a cheat.

He has been caught out lying on many occasions not only as a politician but also as a journalist.

I guess it says more about the moral compass of his supporters than it does of him.

You’ve answered your own question, your words:

‘I think people should judged corbyn until hes been in power, but all i hear is oh hes a terrorist sympathisers, hes anti semetic blah blah blah’

That’s enough reasons for some people. Red Tie wearers always like to refer to their parties mistakes by making use of the words ‘blah blah’. Do carry on with everything else you’ve head that’s shit about Corbyn (not dressing it up with ‘blah blah) and I’m quite confident you’ll stand a chance of convincing yourself that voting for Johnson, is the best thing to do. You’ve still time!

It's not a question of trust. It's people choosing the leader they feel will best act in their interests.

They don't give a shit if he's a liar, as long as he's making things better for them - usually by fucking other people over. It's what they would do themselves.

If people knowingly vote for him (or any other politician) even though they're aware he won't act in their interests; that's just stupidity and self-harm.

No I don’t. Everyone lies. Including you!

If you trust anyone, and I mean anyone in the world, to the point you think they wouldn’t lie, then, you’re massively disillusioned.

I could have asked if people believed he'd act in their best interests. I ended up asking if people believed he'd be truthful about anything. I guess I did that as I was curious if anybody would defend Johnson in that area.

I never lie, obviously.

Joking aside, I think there's a huge difference between the lies we all tell and lies from people in power that will potentially harm a huge proportion of this country. I suppose that's why I raised his track record and asked if people trust Johnson not to lie.

I like Bojo. He's intelligent, well educated, charismatic, and has injected great wit and energy into his role. He'd be a great dinner guest I reckon, whereas I'd struggle to even manage a cup of coffee with the dour Corbyn, who seems an angry man with no wit or charm, surrounded by total incompetents who I am sure would bankrupt and destroy this country in short order.

Scruffy bastard can’t even have a shave either. Look at most world leaders, all smart and clean shaven. Same goes for many of the worlds most successful businesses leaders too. His tie is always crooked too. He looks like he needs a good wash, and slap.

Boris has learnt to comb his hair and tuck his shirt in now, although he’s still a way to go yet. Better than a Steptoe lookalike though.

The answer is: they don't care, because all they care about is winning. The right don't care about making the world a better place, or improving people's lives. Just winning. And unfortunately that's why they usually do.

Its people like you why the country is fucked.

Voting for someome because they know how to use a comb and not liking someone because they dont shave and heard from media he met with terrorists.

Lets just ignore any policies or how a person or goverment had behaved for the past god knows how many years.

She's doing her usual, telling lies. This one based on an edited video the conservatives released on FB in the 2017 election. A video the tories themselves have acknowledged is selectively edited. Doubtless she will be along to say Her Majesties leader of the Opposition is a known terrorist sympathiser

And I expect you’re an authority on just how DNA, somehow, as if almost magically, doesn’t work feverishly to ensure the survival of the fittest? You see; if you must quote book titles, it does pay dividends to have at least read them before quoting them

"I read this the other day and for me it rings true.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

John Kenneth Galbraith

Might well be true. Ever heard of the Darwinian Theory of Evolution and it’s links to selfishness?

I wonder if anyone has ever written anything remotely thought provoking, and managed to do it eloquently, about Steptoe and his cronies?

I’m aware of Richard Dawkins and his book the selfish gene.Evolution is viewed from the perspective of DNA.

And I expect you’re an authority on just how DNA, somehow, as if almost magically, doesn’t work feverishly to ensure the survival of the fittest? You see; if you must quote book titles, it does pay dividends to have at least read them before quoting them "

Actually it explains why humans are altruistic...

Does your cheesy grin imply your happy with yourself because you’ve successfully managed to find one sentence on google that gave you a clue? Any thoughts of your own on Dawkin’s book? At least you didn’t spell it Dorkin.

"Because the only alternative likely to succeed is an even bigger c u next tuesday. Johnson is best of a really shit batch.

Ah ok so you are one of these gullable people that just because they read or hear about him being a terrorist sympathizer that makes it to be true?

What makes a good leader is someome that listens to both sides.

Hes not a sympathizer, hes someone that was trying to find a solution to a difficult if not impossible situation.

Not according to the IRA

What was he doing Frisky?

She's doing her usual, telling lies. This one based on an edited video the conservatives released on FB in the 2017 election. A video the tories themselves have acknowledged is selectively edited. Doubtless she will be along to say Her Majesties leader of the Opposition is a known terrorist sympathiser "

Yep same old same old again - the trouble is I think some of the narcissistic lot on here get their pleasure from appearing more intelligent in their own eyes through following a mantra of selfishness which they think equates to success

Are justifying conservative selfishness from a evolutionary perspective.

Is that your moral justification for it.

As that fits neatly with the quote that started this conversation.

"I like Bojo.

Better than a Steptoe lookalike though."

Of course, and an antisemite, there is plenty of data on all that from all manner of sources. I have no idea what video you're referring to, but I have a feeling if it was Christ himself on video telling you the truth about Jezza's totally unsuitable attitudes you would not believe it anyway, you are obviously a True Believer.

My dilemma is simple. BREXIT aside.

I like some of the things Johnson is saying but I simply don't believe he means it or will actually be able to do it. That's why I won't be voting for him or his party.

I don't like many of the things Corbyn is saying but I absolutely believe he will do them if he is able to. That's why I won't be voting for him or his party.

Yup, I'd never vote Tory while Boris is PM. It's one thing voting for a manifesto and then that manifesto not been fully accomplished and voting for a manifesto from a serial compulsive lier.

In the Economist Dec 2018: Boris was judged to be the politician who has done most to let down his party and country.

"In a big field, there was one outstanding candidate. He failed miserably as foreign secretary. He sniped at Mrs May while in Cabinet. He has agitated against her deal from the backbenches and in his lucrative newspaper column without presenting a real alternative. A demagogue not a statesman, he is the most irresponsible politician the country has seen for many years. Step forward, Boris Johnson!"

FFS He cannot even be honest about the number of children he has.

A logical, rational decision on who you should vote for! Lol

I bet you loved Margaret Thatcher didn’t you

She’d have sorted this mess out and had us out of Europe faster than the miners out of the pit "

"This is mainly a question for Johnson fans.

He was sacked twice for lying. Even if you discount all his political lies, doesn't that fact worry you? Why do you trust him to tell the truth about anything?

Could you name a politician that has never lied about anything ? Seriously !"

Is that your defence of Johnson? Find me a politician that has never lied?

Corbyn is another choice. Despite what the right wing gutter press says, he isn't a communist or many of the other things that are thrown at him.

It's been a long thread by now. Yet as far as I can tell, not one person has said they believe anything Boris says. Everybody on every side seems to acknowledge he's an untrustworthy liar.

On that basis alone, I find it bizarre that anybody would vote for him.

It’s a legitimate question, you’re clearly annoyed at a Conservative government being in power. What that tells you is, more people voted for them than did for the likes of Steptoe and Son! So if you got yourself a permanent address, and with it, a voting right, you might be able to help Steptoe get into power. I’m sure he’d really appreciate your vote lol. That’s sensible advice lass.

I don’t care if Johnson lies

He is funny, entertaining and is a do’er.

He is the only leader who will pursue the outcome of the referendum.

He has hit many brick walls since becoming PM but at least he continues to pursue the outcome he promised to deliver

All MPs who voted were elected on a leave manifest but blocked it should be ashamed of themselves

Those who swap parties after being voted in should have lost their seats and stood again for election. I vote for a party not a person, they shouldn’t be allowed to swap parties. Where would we be if a PM did that!

It’s easier for people to jump on the train of sheep, proverbially joining the masses. They’re guaranteed support that way, whether their argument holds water or not. Still, on a positive note, at least they behave exactly like the one they want in No.10. Gotta give ‘em that!

I’ll be giving BoJo / his colleague my cross too. Not that he needs it

Absolutely, wit and charm should never be underestimated.

Absolutely it means you can ignore the dishonesty, duplicity arrogance racism islamophobia.

He's not racist or islamophobic, I don't find him arrogant, and he is no more duplicitous than other leading politicians - with a few old school exceptions they are all a brood of vipers.

So, pick your poison.

He referred to Black People as picaninnies with watermelon smiles,

Likened Muslim Women to letter boxes and bank robbers.

Referred to President Barack Obama as Kenyan.

Described his second salary of £250,000 from the telegraph as chicken feed.

Lied to the Queen.

Blamed liverpool fans for Hillsborough and then called them victims.

The UK statistics authority called the £350 million a week number to be misleading

He can't be honest about the number of children he has (superinjuction)

As far as I can tell, everything Doggone just referenced is true. If only Johnson could be as truthful as Doggone.

I am not seeking to persuade anyone, only state my view for my own amusement. I'll give you the simplest example of your error: The Supreme Court ruling that, after the event, BJ's prorogation was unlawful, does NOT mean that he did something illegal when he prorogued, or that he lied to anyone, let alone the Queen.

If you cannot understand the difference there you will have no hope of understanding that a refusal to adhere to extreme liberal political correctness does not equate to racism either.

"I don’t care if Johnson lies

He is funny, entertaining and is a do’er.

He is the only leader who will pursue the outcome of the referendum.

He has hit many brick walls since becoming PM but at least he continues to pursue the outcome he promised to deliver

All MPs who voted were elected on a leave manifest but blocked it should be ashamed of themselves

Those who swap parties after being voted in should have lost their seats and stood again for election. I vote for a party not a person, they shouldn’t be allowed to swap parties. Where would we be if a PM did that!"

If this was Britain’s Got Talent, then yeah boris has my vote to win. Sadly this is “Britain needs a decent government to sort brexit out”, and he does not quite cut it here.

See, you're lying again! He never 'promised to be dead in a ditch' he said he'd rather be dead in a ditch. It's a figure of speech.

And no, I don't agree with the political judgement arrived at by the biased Supreme Court. It was not their place to make the ruling, and parliament were totally flouting all legitimate constitutional functions, though of course they did absolutely NOTHING useful when they returned.

You just added another lie to this little right wing wank fest - if you have a reliable source name it or rein your neck in - the forum police will get you if you tell enough lies and spread hatred without any justification - believe me theres plenty of Brexit and Boris cheerleaders who have gone unlos before you joined the party!"

And there we have it, admission that if the left rlement don't like what you say they get you banned. Not surprising, the left us the least tolerant of others views.

Back on point, no lies. Corbyn was involved in an abuse cover up scandal. It was Labour MPs who outed him, not Tory ones. But in your mind that must be ok.

I could be here all night but if all you can say is Steptoe, I can't but assume you share these sentiments. Thats your poison.

Your little list itself is full of lies and you can't even see why, so I see little point in discussing things you clearly don't understand, and to be frank I find your pedantic, humourless style boring anyway.

So you carry on worshipping your lying, antisemitic, terrorist-loving marxists by all means, it's a free country, I won't try to dissuade you, and I'll happily skip off to vote for that jovial non-PC cad Bojo.

Identify one of the above as untrue. I don't imagine you find it pleasant having your untruths called out again. I'll disregard your remark about my personality as not relevant And you will be pushed to find a single time when I have endorsed Jeremy Corbin, all I done is refuted you again.

Too boring, no point, you're too brainwashed and you can't understand the simple concepts involved.

Please try. If not for my benefit, you might persuade someone as yet undecided.

The court made no ruling as to he had an improper motive and or he mislead the queen, thats not the same thing.

Exactly. So when you say 'He lied to the Queen' it's you that's lying.

Ok but you agree that 'The decision to advise Her Majesty to prorogue Parliament was unlawful because it had the effect of frustrating or preventing the ability of Parliament to carry out its constitutional functions without reasonable justification'

He certainly broke his promise about being dead in a ditch"

Probably because he said he’d ‘rather be’ and not ‘will be’. If you must insist on quoting, at least do it properly and actually read and digest the material first ffs.

"This is mainly a question for Johnson fans.

He was sacked twice for lying. Even if you discount all his political lies, doesn't that fact worry you? Why do you trust him to tell the truth about anything?"

People can't defend the indefensible.

However, they will believe a liar if they tell them the lies that they want to hear.

Strange but true.

Cognitive dissonance.

Kings Heath

I don’t believe Boris Johnson is the issue here, he is a symptom of our politics today. We are living in an era of divisive, negative political campaigning that seeks to disparage their opponents rather than promote their own ideals. Our politicians are no longer held up as Pillars virtue honesty and integrity within their communities! They are being shown up to be selfish self serving and disconnected from the ‘real world’ as being proved in USA at the moment!

when we have the most powerful leader on the planet lying on a daily basis, promoting hate speech and racism, it normalises the behaviour for others to follow!

The only real check we have now on politicians are the press! How, through their investigative reporters are outing this behaviour and bringing it to the publics attention! I seriously think people dont even care about weather he is a liar or not! We are in a personality contest not an election! And people like him!

Not me i may add lol

You like the High Court judgement so it is not biased?

You do know how the legal system in this country works right? The High Court cannot make new law. This action had no precedent.

The entire UK Supreme Court ruled against the Government.

I'm interested to know what your basis in constitutional law is to disagree with the Justices of the Supreme Courtbother than "their known bias".

What is your preference? Judges appointed by the government to carry out their orders?

So if Boris won’t get Brexit done, who will?

Sure as hell won’t be the teeny Lib Dem party

On the contrary cherie - if a High Court Judgement is not biased, I like it.

You think mocking the PM and crowing about ruling against him is appropriate for the President of the Supreme Court? I expect way higher standards, total impartiality, and total allegiance to the UK, not a conflict of interest with any foreign power.

Oh sweetie

What do you know? Anything other than you think Boris Johnson is just dreamy?

I find you dreamy, first person in a while who’ll give me a good nights kip and make me feel grateful that I am me...and not...errr...someone else. See what I did there sport?

How come you are so insecure as to need me to verify your actions?

Night, night.

Bless you for making such a useful contribution to why Johnson is a trustworthy liar and why the Supreme Court and High Courts may or may not be biased.

It's all so much clearer as you stayed in point and didn't spend any time trying to look clever by questioning syntax and self confidence.

Would you like a chocolate or strawberry ice cream? Or a Dime bar?

Playing the man instead of the game always smacks of failure - I would suggest you need to up your game sport!"

Not playing him, just wanted a discussion in English! Has anyone ever listened to a suggestion of yours sport?

"Their biased statements". Such as?

You like the High Court judgement so it is not biased?

On the contrary cherie - if a High Court Judgement is not biased, I like it.

You think mocking the PM and crowing about ruling against him is appropriate for the President of the Supreme Court? I expect way higher standards, total impartiality, and total allegiance to the UK, not a conflict of interest with any foreign power.

"

And yet to expect higher standards of our PM and expect them to not deliberately break the law and then try to lie about it... is somehow not something that concerns you?

Stockport

If the ministers of state break the law, and are allowed to, then the law does not exist any more. It is a fundamental principle of the law that the same rules apply from the lowest of the low to the highest of the high.

As for the members of the supreme court - indeed any judge - their allegiance is not to the UK, it is to the law of the UK. Which is a very different thing in these strange days when we have the ministers of the UK openly acting to circumvent the law of the UK.

If this was Britain’s Got Talent, then yeah boris has my vote to win. Sadly this is “Britain needs a decent government to sort brexit out”, and he does not quite cut it here.

...

So if Boris won’t get Brexit done, who will?

Sure as hell won’t be the teeny Lib Dem party

Or the ‘no fecking clue what to do’ Labour Party"

If you want a ‘proper ‘ Brexit then you will have to vote Brexit Ltd,

I find this an interesting assertion.

"The biased Supreme Court".

What's your evidence for it?

Their known bias and their biased statements.

"A ruling against your preferred position is not bias."

Indeed not. They are biased nonetheless.

I agree with the High Court that it was not a justicable matter.

What is "their known bias". Explain the statement. Provide some examples.

"Their biased statements". Such as?

You like the High Court judgement so it is not biased?

You do know how the legal system in this country works right? The High Court cannot make new law. This action had no precedent.

The entire UK Supreme Court ruled against the Government.

Every single sitting judge.

I'm interested to know what your basis in constitutional law is to disagree with the Justices of the Supreme Courtbother than "their known bias".

What is your preference? Judges appointed by the government to carry out their orders?

Ffs...one line from your soporific tones raised a smile ‘You like the High Court Judgement so it’s not biased’? Sounds like you’re not quite sure enough yourself there sport! Making a statement, but then babbing your pants and falling short at the end by sticking a question mark on it! What will it be oh wise one, statement, or question?

Any thoughts of your own to add? Go on, entertain us!

Vital and pedantic point of syntax to make?

Unable to address the question so find something else to distract with?

Have you any useful thoughts at all?

Jeez, even your come backs are riddled with doubt! Make a statement or ask a question, then we might know what you want! Or are you actually seeking some sort of verification relating to the validity of your ....what is it again? Pmsl

So, your thoughts, what are they? Come on, chop chop, there’s only so much thong plucking from your arse we’ll tolerate!

Am I mocking you for trying to prove how clever you are?

Are you proving that you are a bully by trying to pick me?

Do I give a toss?

Hmmm. I guess I just don't know?

You are risable

Just wondering why everything you write is filled with doubt and finishes with a question mark.

Stop being so defensive and let us know whether your making a statement or asking a question.. Then we may make progress

I just don't know do I?

What do you think my opinion should be?

Is Boris Johnson a liar?

Is the Supreme Court biased?

Was the High Court opinion better in legal terms?

Do you have any opinions or do you prefer to make personal attacks?

Personal attacks! Ah, you’re playing the victim card instead of answering a question! Or are you? I really don’t know now!

Waltz in here attempting to give other users a whipping based on home-spun philosophy, doesn’t always end well for perpetrators either. They probably listen to me as much as they listen to you dearie! Maybe I just have a higher appreciation of the futility of picking personal fights
