A day in the life of Bill Liberal

I SAW THIS on the back of a cornflakes box

Bill gets up at 6 a.m and fills his kettle with water to have his fair trade eco friendly brew. The brew is good because some evil capitalist conservative saw a gap in the market and decided to give him a choice of purchasing that brew.

With his first swallow of their brew, he takes his daily medication. His medication are available to him because some stupid greedy pharmaceutical company spent billions of pounds doing research to provide medication which will keep him well.

He prepares his morning breakfast of substitute bacon and egg substitute. Joes food is available because some evil scum farmer decided to increase crop yields by using Genetically modified Soya.

In the morning flannel wash, Bill reaches for his soap bar. It’s cheap and plentiful because some heartless polluting manufacturer invented a process which made it quicker and cheaper to manufacture their soap.

Bill dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath The air he breaths is clean, because he doesn’t live in a poor area, because some greedy fat cats gave mommy and daddy a shit load of money for investing in stocks and shares and made them move out of the city to get away from the “ethnics”.

Bill Drives to work in his electric vehicle because some rich dude invested billions of dollars in providing an alternative way of travel which is modern clean and efficient.

Bill begins his work day. He has a brilliant job with excellent pay and benefits, because some twisted neo conservative capitalist interested in making profits, Decided to hire him based on his skills and merits.

Bill hurts himself at work, and an private ambulance takes him to a privately run health care facility where there are no waiting times, and clean facilities because some bloody greedy conservatives allowed for choice of where Bill could go to get looked after.

Bill gets home and relaxes by listening to a podcast show. The caster keeps saying the conservatives are bad and liberals are good. He doesn’t mention that his beloved liberals are in favour of reducing his quality of life, restricting his freedom of choice and every other benefit Bill enjoys throughout his day.

Bill agrees: “We don’t need those free market, economically minded conservatives ruining our lives at all! Besides, I am a socially conscious and fair minded individual who believes in making a stand against the evil capitalist pigs who destroy our lives.

HAVE you ever wondered what it’s like being a permanently furious middle-aged white man? Here gammon Roy Hobbs describes a typical day.

8.30am. Read the Daily Express over breakfast. Apparently the EU wants to ban Christmas presents! I haven’t even finished my eggy soldiers and I’m already furious.

9.30am. Arrive at my office in Chichester. Lucy asks if I want a cup of tea. The way women are these days I’m lucky she didn’t sue me for sexual harassment just for saying ‘hello’.

11.30am. Go outside for a fag. Get really angry when I imagine in detail Chichester becoming a multicultural hellhole with a mosque and a scooter gang on every corner.

1pm. Lunch. Have a bacon sandwich before they’re banned to avoid offending The People We’re Not Allowed To Talk About. Vein in my neck really pulsating now.

2.30pm. Get the biscuits out and spend the afternoon on BBC comments under my username ‘SodOffGordonBroon’. Put a few millennial snowflakes to rights about how easy they’ve got it these days.

7pm. Dinner with the wife in my house that’s quadrupled in value due to buying at the right time. Remember how oppressed I am as a middle-aged white man and am forced to have a large glass of Merlot to calm down.

For example...

Bill wasn’t hired because the company admired him and his skills. They hired him because his skills would help them make profits.

This post was highlighting that society need both left and right to maintain the balance in society. You end going either direction too sharply then you end up with inequality either way.

You clearly see the aggression on both sides, and how people are quick to cry foul when their views are mocked.

This is why even though you may not agree with someone, you got to understand why they feel like this.

Although I criticised it I did actually take it as a bit of fun. Both this thread and the other two both paint the protagonist (Joe or Bill) as everything they think is wrong about those that disagree with them. The reality is is that few people are like Joe or Bill and most are just desperately trying to figure out what really is best for them, their families, their society and their country.
