A day in the life of Joe Conservative

Glasgow

Saw this recently, and seems appropriate given the inevitable Corbyn bashing going on. Is something that as always puzzled me though, the way those of a left leaning are ridiculed as though things like equality and fairness are bad things.

Anyway, this...

“ Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his kettle with water to prepare his morning tea/coffee. The water is clean and good, because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards.

With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take, because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat, because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labelled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents, because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean, because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air.

Joe drives to work in a safe regulated car because meddling liberals fought for more safety features and standards.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, pension, paternity leave, paid holidays and sick pay because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards.

Joe hurts himself at work and an ambulance takes him to A&E. He receives free at the point of use treatment thanks to bloody liberal socialists who formed the NHS.

Joe gets home and relaxes by turning on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn’t mention that his beloved Conservatives have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.

Joe agrees: “We don’t need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I’m a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.”

Joe is blissful in his ignorance…”

Hilarious. Except that this has been around as "A day in the life of Joe Republican" since before 2004. How typical of a lazy Labour voter to steal somebody else's work and pass it off as their own without doing any kind of check as to its origins. It reminds me of the time Jeremy the Jew hater whinged about there being no seats on the train and then being caught out as a liar from CCTV footage. Do Labour voters have no original thoughts or ideas of their own?

Sometimes the truth is so stark that millions will refuse to believe it until it is too late...

Anyone for a little man made global warming. Or to paraphrase: 'a few degrees and we can bask in our own Mediterranean climate, grow oranges and make our own wine'. Anyone remember which British politician said that?

How typical of a keyboard warrior to be so quick to slag someone off to completely miss what was written.

Firstly, so what if it has been around for a while, that doesn’t make it any less true.

Secondly, I didn’t pass it off as my own, as I said it was something I had seen recently.

Thirdly, see those things called “inverted commas”?

But apart from that, thanks for the constructive feedback.

Fourthly, isn’t it a bit lazy to assume I vote for Labour?

Fifthly, is that what you call hypocrisy?

Sixthly, yes, I’m aware that “hypocrisy” has also been around since 2004, and for the record definitely not trying to claim credit for just inventing it now.

Ah! I see. So because I mentioned Corbyn, you took it that I thought it was written specifically about Corbyn?

No, it just seemed topical just now because it’s about the misrepresentation of the left, or general lack of appreciation of things the left stands for or had contributed towards achieving, all of which often seems to be said about Corbyn.

Apologies if that wasn’t obvious, or was difficult to understand.

Passengers who were on that train agreed with Corbyn's account. And later video footage was released showing those apparently empty seats actually had people in who were hidden by the seats' angles in previous stills. Google away if you wish.

The only "facts" here are that the OP blatantly stole somebody else's work and tried to pass it off as something anti-Conservative in a rather feeble attempt to look clever. Perhaps Labour should allow turnips to be party members? That at least would raise the overall IQ of the average member. But I forgot, you've also got Diane Abbott, so maybe parsnips as well? In fact, any root vegetable would help. Happy Hallow'een

Yes, reminds me of the people girning about widening the voting franchise.

Where do they think their right to vote came from?

Do they think the ruling class had a bout of benevolence one day and thought: "Oooh, it would be nice to share our powers"?

It was always the labour movement that won the concessions and rights they take for granted today.

I assume you put “facts” in inverted commas to indicate that they aren’t actually facts at all.

Even after I reiterated that it was something I had seen recently and used inverted commas to indicate that it was a quote, is there a reason you still wanging in about “blatantly stealing someone else’s work”?

Vegetables as Labour members? Hahaha !!!!1!!

That is pretty funny actually. Because vegetables are so stupid, they’re stupider than anyone who might vote for Labour. You’re pretty hilarious, I’lol give you that. Vegetables. pmsl.

Ah right. I guess that means we can disregard Virgin Trains admitting that they edited the released CCTV video and made a 'large' donation in JC's name to a charity of his choice rather than face being sued for deformation.

But, please carry on, tell us how there is CCTV footage released by Virgin Trains that shows there were seats on that train.

I direct your attention to the OP's first three words:

Saw this recently

Will now repeat in capitals as clearly you are having difficulty seeing these three words:

SAW THIS RECENTLY

No, it proved that there are always two sides to every story. Even JC admitted (after changing his story), that there had been seats on the train.

He even refused to be seated in First Class, as I would expect he would being a principled man, (an offer never made to me), and took the seats of some standard class passengers that took up that offer.

I seem to remember a news item months after traingate where Branson admitted that the video released by Virgin Trains had been edited to make it look as tho JC had lied and that he had made a voluntary donation in JC's name to a charity of JC's choice.

Of course I may be confusing interviews and statements made by people who have lied about JC and you may be correct/

I'll happily talk about which parts I disagree with - but with the person who wrote it, not the plagiariser who stole it. Did you ever have an original thought or idea? If you do, let me know - I'll wait "

What actually is wrong with you? If you don’t understand the difference between plagiarising something and quoting something then we have a problem.

And since when was generally agreeing with something such an issue. I suppose you don’t ever agree with anything, you just breeze through life having nothing but original thoughts that no-one else has ever thought or agreed with.

I’ve read some nonsense on the internet over the years, but this is right up there.

Thanks Will. I'm sure that JC's time is about to come, either as PM or as the head of a coalition. His politics may not be mine but he does seem principled and the country could do with that right now.

Costa Blanca Spain...

Same thing, different angle.

A day in the life of Joe the socialist.

“ Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his kettle with water to prepare his morning tea/coffee. The water is clean and good, because some capitalist provided the investment to deliver the water into his house.

With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are readily available, because some stupid drug company provided the research funding to make the stuff in the first place.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is readily available at a reasonable price because of the fierce competition in the supermarket and food production industry.

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labelled with each ingredient which has been tested at great expense by the company that produces it.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean, because of massive improvements in technology paid for by multi-national companies.

Joe drives to work in a safe regulated car because competition in the motor industry pushed the boundary’s of safety and luxury that could only have been dreamed of a few years ago. Oh! Not forgetting that nowadays some bloody stupid leftie liberal wants to take it away from him.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, pension, paternity leave, paid holidays and sick pay because competition in the jobs market works both ways. To attract the best staff, companies have to pay the going rate.

Joe hurts himself at work and an ambulance takes him to A&E. He receives free at the point of use treatment pretty much the same as every other European country who didn’t have to thank bloody liberal socialists who formed the NHS.

Joe gets home and relaxes by turning on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that conservatives are bad and liberals are good. He doesn’t mention that his beloved liberals have fought against every bit of new technology that Joe enjoys throughout his day.

Joe agrees: “We don’t need those small government conservatives ruining our lives! After all, I’m not capable of being a self made man and need big government to wipe my arse every day.

Joe is blissful in his ignorance…”

The same Double Down news that left-wing filmmaker Yannis Mendez is a Director of?

Not got a problem with that. What was the problem, was that he was supplying media outlets with an "unbiased" account of events. Clearly not the case.

All compounded by the JC friendly Guardian using information supplied by a journalist, who was in fact, a Labour activist. Something they later had to point out, much to their embarrassment.

Can you show me any ‘unedited’ CCTV evidence that proves Corbyn lied. Are there any eye witness that we’re on that train that state he was lying? I am still not sure what your agenda is? Are you related to Branson

Touché. Although it’s probably worth noting that multi national companies don’t tend to voluntarily do anything they don’t need to unless it is in their own financial interests to do so. And would likely not have done much if that unless they had been legally compelled to. Possibly why things like health and food standards are not equally high all around the world.

The guardian hated JC. From what I remember they kept saying the Labour party made the wrong choice, they took the lead in undermining him from within. They only got behind him after the 2017 election, even still they aren't crazy about him. Owen Jones was the only one that openly supported him, but hey don't let facts get in the way.

Anyway you're drowning by now, just letting you know.

Is that what they call “playing the man not the ball”.

For clarity, I am not claiming to have just come up with the phrase “playing the man not the ball”.

And I also apologise in advance for not thinking of my own original phrase that meant the same thing.

Sure, although a Labour activist isn’t necessarily an unreliable source simply by virtue of being a Labour activist. Was anything he reported actually shown to be false?

From where I’m standing much of the criticism levelled at Corbyn has been little more than hearsay, insinuation and innuendo, rather than much in the way of anything substantive.

You can disagree with her politics all you want, but to call her stupid is laughable. The level of abuse and slurs that has been thrown at her speaks for itself. She has rose on her own merit, not because of an accident of birth, like Johnson, Cameron or George Osborne.

Several of the MPs that are standing down from parliament have cited the level of abuse they have got over their position on Brexit. She is still standing for what she believes in having received more sustained abuse than anyone else. She isn't a natural politician or media friendly but she has tenacity and courage.

Don’t forget she’s black, a woman, intelligent and a left wing politician - just the kind of target some right wingers love to abuse.....I mean lets face it if she’s so dreadful what are you all afraid of....a little equality? If you put her head to head with Matt ‘the robot’ Hancock I think you might see that gormlessness is not exclusive to any party!

"Saw this recently, and seems appropriate given the inevitable Corbyn bashing going on.

Joe is blissful in his ignorance…”"

"il probbally vote conservative but the post is mint !"

Honesty! I salute you Mr suit.

But having done so I have a point to raise and a question for you Mr suit.

You tacitly admit underlying reality and truth of what is a meme post, yet you admit you will clearly vote against your own interests.

Why?

May I respectfully suggest an answer...

You may have been conditioned.

Let me expand in a way you probably wont understand for a while...

I'm former services (spear point), and what I am about to do will go over most peoples heads, but some are about to become triggered.

WHAT MAKES THE GRASS GROW?

WHAT MAKES THE GRASS GROW?

WHAT MAKES THE GRASS GROW?

Some here are screaming (in their heads)

BLOOD! BLOOD! BLOOD!

but if I stood in a room with them and bellowed the same question by the third asking all of them would be screaming the reply.

What the military do in 4 weeks of bayonet training to infanteer recruits that lasts a lifetime, 3 newsgroups have done to their readership through headlines in the last 35 to 40 years to their readership.

"Same thing, different angle.

Would you really like me to move on to all the occasions that the motor industry has only recalled deathtraps they have known about after 'whistle-blowers' have come forward or they have faced 'class action' law suits in the USA.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, pension, paternity leave, paid holidays and sick pay because competition in the jobs market works both ways. To attract the best staff, companies have to pay the going rate.

Zero hour contract anyone?

If I have not made my case for rejecting your idiotic unregulated corporate/capitalist sycophancy by now I never will.

Bravo, you ripped that to pieces

He didn't rip anything to pieces because most of it was bollocks.

Why? you may ask.

Because after reading the OP it was obvious that one big shovel of bollocks deserved another.

You are swearing and being aggressive again. Rattled

You sound like an old 45 with the needle stuck.

Can't you actually think of anything original to say.

Hmmm. Thought not."

Says the man with all the answers but none of the imagination lol

"Same thing, different angle.

Actually I'm starting to feel I really couldn't give a fuck what Joe does when he gets up in the morning nor what car he drives.

Same thing, different angle.

A day in the life of Joe the socialist.

Lets examine your alternatives...

“ Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his kettle with water to prepare his morning tea/coffee. The water is clean and good, because some capitalist provided the investment to deliver the water into his house

Like the water provided to the people of Flint in that paragon of Capitalism the USA...

https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/jul/03/nothing-to-worry-about-the-water-is-fine-how-flint-michigan-poisoned-its-people

With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are readily available, because some stupid drug company provided the research funding to make the stuff in the first place.

And the €80 Bn of EU grants between 2018 and 2020

https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/partners-networks/academia/horizon-2020-research-funding

Not to mention the research done by universities and charities that pharmaceutical companies then 'take to market' and profit from.

You will find that less than 25% of all pharmaceutical research in the USA and EU is funded by pharmaceutical companies, and virtually none of the blue sky research is commercially funded.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is readily available at a reasonable price because of the fierce competition in the supermarket and food production

Anyone for a little New Variant CJD courtesy of Monsanto?

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labelled with each ingredient which has been tested at great expense by the company that produces it.

Remind me why we have mandatory LD and CD 50 testing.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean, because of massive improvements in technology paid for by multi-national companies.

Ah yes, why don't you tell everyone the story of Union Carbide, the poisoning of Bopal and why Union Carbide set up the Bopal factory in the first place.

Notice any inconsistencies between reality and your fiction?
