"Just looked it up It's not a tax is it! more that manufacturing often charges more for products packaged at women and often is pink. If you don't like it boycott the products and buy blue ones aimed at men. Simples " I do and they are better quality x

"Are plastic bags male or female? What is the sexual orientation of chip paper? does it change when used to wrap a fish? Is this the ultimate in political correctness gone mad? " nice one

"All packaging will need to change. No products made in UK will carry any EU markings in future. Looks like it will have to say "Made in GB" rather than "Made in UK" to differentiate it from products made in Non Iron. The symbolism of that will be interesting in the north. " Nobody gives a shit about such petty matters

" I'm not sure if you're joking or just another old person on here with out of touch views but surely you do know that products like shaving cream, razors, etc, are marketed towards genders and the new complaint (since the 90's) is that products aimed at women often cost more for no real reason. This new suggestion is that products such as toiletries should no longer do that and just be as is, therefore no price exploitation should occur (hopefully).

Stop being so precious, really stop it. Let me explain a little something too you: You are a consumer, I am a consumer, we are all consumers. There is a whole industry out there that's whole purpose for existing is to relieve you, I and everyone else of as much money as possible in return for the least amount possible, its called the marketing industry. It works by identifying target demographics and triggers that will make those demographics part with their had earned for tat. There are 3 major demographics, men, women and children, all are triggered by different things. Let start by looking at children: They are small, impatient, easily distracted, and attracted to sweet and bright things. They are also a source of major frustration to adults of both sexes. Therefore the perfect place to target them is in shops and checkout queues in particular and the best way to target them is with (expensive) brightly packaged sweets at child's eye and hand level, so that's why sweets are placed at that level in ch@ke points like at the end of checkout belts in shops. With men they play on our wish to come across as big, wealthy and powerful by putting higher priced stuff on higher shelves and the most expensive tat on the top shelves. Apparently women will pay more for crap in pink packaging. If it offends you that the marketing industry manipulate you, (it used to offend me) inform yourself as to how you are being manipulated and change your behavior. But please don't attempt to make product targeting a gender issue as it is not and there are genuine issues like sanitary product poverty causing young ladies to miss up to a week a month education because of Tory ideological austerity. Sorry for the rant folks but some people really make my shit itch!

"Again why should women pay a premium for sanitary products there is a thing called period poverty." LoL! I guess that puts me in my place. Clearly I need to be told that a real gender issue I pointed out is a real gender issue because I didn't call it period poverty.

"Sorry missed your bottom bit please accept my apologies x" No worries. I am on your side when it comes to gender issues, just the problem that is the marketing industry isn't a gender issue. No part of what the marketing and advertising industries do and their use of analytics and psychological manipulation to stimulate markets and suppress our abilities to resist impulse buying should be framed as a gender issue.

This new suggestion is that products such as toiletries should no longer do that and just be as is, therefore no price exploitation should occur (hopefully)." There are some reasons that costs may be higher. They need to create tools to manufacture the goods. Some products, such as razors, simply wont sell as much of the "womens" products (pink with a different handle), as the mens equivalent. As the volumes are less, they charge more, to pay off the investments made in tooling up the machine. But women have to ask themselves,"do I really need a pink stubby handle at 50% higher cost?" Nobody needed them before they came along. Create a fake problem then sell them a cure. Same goes for men, does anyone really need 5 blades that vibrate and transforms into a toothbrush? No, but someone will no doubt try to convince us we need one and some people will just have to have it. I use a gillette razor thats dated 1963 and use proper blades. Its got 9 different settings and it will beat any of the new ones, hands down. And its far better for the environment. Do yourselves a favour people, stop watching adverts. Theyre just bullshit and glitter.

"I'm coming down with migrain already just thinking about it. " You will find the change, when it comes, liberating. My wallet stopped opening years ago and now all I need is to remember to check my balance regularly to avoid unwanted shrinkage (and keep a handy supply of blue pills... Just in case).
