This is the question a very good one too.

Thank you. People have dismissed the deal without even reading it. So will they go with what their party wants or what their constituents want. If they vote against it does this mean we can actually sack the lot of them and should the people take the whole government to court .

mp's are suppose to be working for make people lives better...

this deal will make peoples lives worse than it would have done under mays deal......

so "working for the people" may be fine in principle.... but would you rather lose "an arm" or "an arm and a leg"

Thats why i was pleased to see labour mp john mann speaking today. He said my constituents voted to leave i stood on a manifesto to honour the referendum as did most mps. When ask about labours claims on workers rights he said i dont see any mps trying to reduce rights and if they did it would have to go through the HOC and any one who voted for it would be kicked out by the electorate the next election thats democracy.I agree with him labour are using it as an excuse to oppose anything the tories say.

They'll vote for what they think is in the best interests of their constituents.

Every single one.

It's the basis under which they are employed.

If their constituents aren't happy with this, they'll get the opportunity to replace them soon.

... And that's why MPs must vote for what they think is best/right.

Virtually none of their constituents have actually studied the details and the facts.

actually spent the afternoon looking for research between the difference between this agreement and the original agreement (spoiler... isn't much, but actually because the backstop protections in mays deal for england, wales and scotland are not there in johnsons deal..... it makes your potential no deal exposure worse!)

I would hope that your mp would be doing the same reading.......

mp john baron gave the game away this afternoon.... the reason why ERG'ers love this deal is that if there is no FTA in place by Dec 2020 then after that we default to no deal/WTO

your average FTA takes the best part of 8-10 yrs to put in place from scratch

thats why they are all throwing the likes of the DUP under the bus......

Central

MPs have a responsibility to represent their constituents, which does not automatically mean that any of them may get what they want. They will want to investigate what is right for the country and people and this ought to safeguard against inappropriate measures being pursued

Tory politicians acting in their own interests, rather than those of the UK as a whole, is what led us to this point.

That's more to do with our FPTP voting system, leaving us with majority governments that don't have to find compromises.

"Are they still working for the people or for themselves. Will they vote for what their constiuents want or will they vote for what they want for themselves. "

An MP is the concentration of the will of all constituents within their constituency. They do take that responsibility quite seriously. You also have to take into consideration they have views also on how to best serve their constituents.

Yes many people feel that all MP’s should vote the same way, but really and truly they are looking out for their own constituents. Not themselves as most people are led to believe.
