Setting them before queen next week- when does a legal ruling not become legal?

The last ruling simply nullified the last prorogation. Nothing more.

It was like an episode of Dallas when Bobby Ewing died - it didn't actually happen, it was all a bad dream.

It is perfectly normal to do this prior to Queen's speech.

interesting thing is the timing.... end of play tuesday

which means he gets out of having to defend his brexit "plan" to all and sundry at PMQ's next wednesday....

still very cunning of them!

It's neither about PMQs or Queens speech. It's about starting a new session so that the government can put a deal not very dissimilar, possibly even exactly the same, as May's deal.

It's quite normal to do this before a Queens Speech. The security forces need access to the building to sweep it clean etc.

But like Fabio says, it's being done maybe a day or two earlier than needs to.

Boris Johnson will have only done one PMQs by the time a new Parliamentary session starts.

What's the point of a new legislative programme?

When your majority is -46, it's pointless.

Johnson became Tory leader on 23rd July , since that date there have been 11Wednesdays , Johnson has only appeared at one PMQs ,,,, ( if he doesn't manage prorogue parliament on Tuesday , I suppose he could fly to Afghanistan next Wednesday morning for a 40 minute meeting over tea and biscuits )

Yesterday's " no-show" at PMQs was disgraceful , When Parliament was recalled last week ( after it had been illegally shut down ) , the Leader of the Opposition altered the day and time of his conference speech at a moments notice in order to attend Parliament ,,Johnson' s preference to speak at conference rather than face questions at PMQs shows a weakness , a disregard for parliament and also shows how he puts party before country

Parliament had not been shut down illegally but the shut down was unlawful

Johnson was absent from PMQ's because of the Conservative Party conference. Where was Corbyn?

On holiday in Ibiza.

It's clearly another inappropriate closure, when the country faces a potentially monumental period in its existence. All at a point when the leader has been found to have acted unlawfully. At best it shows inept judgement by the leader. Beyond contempt now, he's totally transparent and without the qualities required for a leading party to have as PM. We need the active sovereignty of parliament during such points.
