Islamophobes and Anti-Semites

Interesting what comes out of the woodwork isnt it! All that fuss about anti-semitism in the Labour party and now the Conservatives have been outed as Islamophobes! What sre we supposed to make of that? Baroness Warsi had some very damning comments to say about her fellow tories earlier today.

Yes it is old news but the furious back pedalling of Kwasi Kwarteng when questioned about whether there was actually an independent investigation into the matter was fascinating. He lied on record that the matter was being investigated and then used some phrases straight out of the Boris phrasebook to try and bluster his way out. What a cunning stunt!

We have a firm definition of Anti-Semitism, remember Labour didn't like the one recommended by the UN? But we don't seem to have an internationally recognised definition of Islamaphobia. Would be interesting to see if the one the BBC is using is simply people saying they don't like the religion, which is fair enough, or saying they hate it and its followers, which isn't. Parliament is apparently considering a definition but hasn't yet decided.

I've said before on this issue and I'll say it again now. There is far too much 'what-about-ism' on this issue. Racism, in all its forms, is not a party political matter but a country wide social matter. Maybe if both parties spent a little less time trying to use it as a stick to beat the other with and a lot more time actually dealing with the issues in their own parties we might get some way to actually solving the problem.

Yes, we were already aware of all this - but she's STILL a self-opinionated woman who likes to portray herself and her co-religionists as victims. Her past jobs make it even worse. She's the Conservative version of 'Swami' Chakrabati, another lawyer elevated to the Lords for party favours.

Indeed, Sir Roger Scruton was sacked from a Government job a couple of months back for saying that Islampohobia was an invention of the Muslim Brotherhood, designed to eliminate any criticism of anything any of them do. Scruton is a prominent intellectual and by no means a racist, but as he's not Political Correct, he had to go.

No people have no prejudice against people of this particular faith?

No people make sweeping generalisations about all Muslim men being a risk to children?

No people make sweeping generalisations about all Muslims wanting to introduce Sharia law?

No people making sweeping generalisations about all Muslims supporting terrorism?

Does anti-Semitism exist?

Does racism exist?

Does sexism exist?

I'm guessing not by this definition.
