About 15 minutes before the scheduled press conference , Laura Keunsberg hinted that it may by fiesty as it was to be held outside and there were protesters close by , The UK are now saying that they requested the venue to be changed to indoors but the Luxembourg PM went ahead with the meeting making it very obvious that Johnson was not there by pointing to the empty podium . Until now the press conferences between the EU and UK have been relatively cordial but there was a different feel to this , it remains to be seen whether this was a one-off or if this is the first real public sign that the EU are really beginning to lose their patience with the U.K.

I think he probably had some blister and lies prepared but didn't like being shown up for the incompetent conman that he is.

A few UK citizens were demonstrating peacefully and he'd asked if all of the press, security and lecterns could go inside. It was the call of his hosts to continue outside. The guy clearly spoke about it being the responsibility of the UK to do something.. He must have frightened Johnson with his clear grasp of the facts.

In the almost 1 month since he met Merkel, he has still to show them his idea and plan.

The yellowhammer document said this would happen, and happen more and more "EU exit fatigue".

EU countries getting tired of not being able to plan themselves. Will the UK still be buying their beef? their cars? How do they answer the industries questions on the issue?

As soon as the backstop did not work the UK should have started work on a border proposal. Its just that simple.

I think it is really obvious what happened yesterday. De Pfeffel put the first part of his plan for leaving the EU on Oct 31 into action, remember over the weekend he said deal or no deal the UK will stop being a member of the EU on 31/10 regardless of parliament or the law. The only way he can ensure that without breaking the law is to so sour relations with the other countries in the EU that they refuse to give us another extension. It seems pretty clear to me that if the Eaton shit is willing to anger and so publicly snub his host then no doubt behind closed doors the discussions must have been a lot less statesman like (which is his reputation).

So now we know the likely plan the question is how high a price will the UK pay for his hubris?

The price could be no deal ever done with the EU.

Its clear some EU countries are starting to get fed up, and are moving away from the EU line of "Get the irish border sorted and you can have almost free trade", to something more like "Get the irish border sorted, and then meet a demand from us, and we will think about a small percentage import tax" kind of attitude.

The more I see and hear the more I think brexit has now become a vehicle for multimillionaire carpetbaggers to vastly increase their wealth by means of trashing the UK economy and cashing in on the ensuing disaster regardless of cost of lives in Briton or Ireland. Imagine if the prime minister of Ireland came to the UK, and said "I cant do the interview outside number 10, can we move all the press, security and all guests to inside the house"

Then if the UK says "Thats not possible right now", the Irish pm saying "Its their fault I couldnt do the meeting".

Saying that, does anyone know if UK security/Intelligence vet venues like this for the PM like they do for the US president. I assume they do. I assume they gave this venue an okay, and assume they themselves would need time to change it to indoors.

Mainly some good posts and insights here. It's clearly the host's prerogative where they stage their events and unlike Johnson the PM probably was going to have a packed day of work ahead, with no time to spare for delay. Imagine having to suffer that visitors verbal diarrhoea, when it's crystal clear he's trashing economies, including your own. I think he was a little too restrained in what he said.

He had 30 days to make it clear what the UK exit alternative is, which is almost up, with nothing done. Any die-hard fan must try cleaning shit for brains more thoroughly, as he's obviously not working in the country's interest as a whole

First of all I'd love to see what evidence you've got that the UK takes in the majority of migrants / asylum seekers that enter the EU

I know you have NONE.... anyway as the migrant flow into the EU has been in the Millions it's easy to determine it's a tiny percentage that try to get here.

So many people shoot their fingers off typing what they think is true because they've probably read it in some anti EU articles but really they've only shown they know nothing and end up shooting themselves in the foot

You need to look up the migrant numbers that entered the EU in each country and then try telling us all the migrants don't stay in the EU, even though we are the EU.

And when Brexit is accomplished, the illegal immigrants will still be illegally boarding illegal craft from European beaches in order to attempt the tumultuous Channel Crossing to England's shores of safety.

Meanwhile, the legal immigrants from Poland, Latvia, Romania, France, Belgium, Spain, Germany etc. who come to earn a wage, pick crops, work in factories, clean toilets, etc. pay taxes, pay their bills and rent houses from British landlords will be sent packing, back home where they belong.

On another note 59 migrants in the hotel burstin on folkstone seafront last night paid for by us ...I bet the paying public who paid up to 100 pounds per night were happy to see them in the bars and eating areas ...I do hope they enjoyed the entertainment ....sort it Boris boy
