"Going are the days when you voted 'X' because your grandad did .. With the current mess will you now consider voting against your traditional pattern? " Never voted for one party out of blind faith over and over again but different ones depending on what their manifesto states. Traditionally been Tory but have deviated a few times and I'll probably be deviating again at the next GE.

"Going are the days when you voted 'X' because your grandad did .. With the current mess will you now consider voting against your traditional pattern? " My parents voted Conservative. I vote Labour and SNP. My kids vote SNP. I can say for certain who I will NOT vote for, and that is any permutation of UKIP, Brexit Party, Conservative, Britain First, BNP etc.

"Lifetime green voter but might vote tactically and vote Lib Dem’s next election to oust the Tory in my neck of the woods. The Lib Dem’s seem to have momentum." I see the Lib Dems are to stand on a policy of outright revocation of Article 50. I suspect it's a bargaining chip for coalition talks, but interesting development to effectively declare the referendum null and void.

"Im going to find it pretty tricky to continue to support labour, under this leadership. .. I would not be shocked if David Millband was a future leader." I agree. If (and they probably will) labour lose the next GE I think Milliband would be the perfect leader of the Labour Party .

"Im going to find it pretty tricky to continue to support labour, under this leadership. .. I would not be shocked if David Millband was a future leader." Of course, we are being 'told' (ask by whom) from all quarters that the Labour Party is anti-semitic. . So how could they have ANOTHER Milliband... Unless of course (as I believe) they are not indeed anti-semitic, and merely seek to oppose the behaviour of the rogue state of Isr@el and NOT world jewry as a whole. Anti-Zionism is NOT anti-semitism. But to return to the thread... One has to vote for the party one believes will do right by the country as a whole at the time. I started by voting for Maggie in'79, but could latterly retch at the thought of voting tory again. After a 'Red Rose' period, saw through 'Bliars' 'Torylite' and was delighted when Labour embraced a socialist again. Enviromental concerns then made me vote Green but I could not now support a party seeking to overturn the referendum result. That vote means everything and should be honoured or our democracy (or belief in it) will never recover.

"I grew up in an active Conservative household, I used to be a staunch conservative (small c). But during my military service I came to realise the Thatcher changed Conservatism from a centre right, one nation party, to an ever increasingly right wing pro business anti worker, anti welfare party that was only interested in promoting the interests of the most wealthy. " Is that why Thatcher championed the single market?

"Im from a Labour background I will always vote Labour Why ? Because the Conservative party will only ever be for those who want tax cuts for the rich & to never give the breaks to the working classes. If i earned a million quid id have no problem being taxed at a much higher rate. Id be grateful i wasnt deciding if i can feed my kids , put petrol in my car or can i go & see my footie team play . " How do you think you earn a million quid?

"No started as Liberal but stopped when they became Lib Dems, then tory then labour now tory.Believe that the current labour party is total dangerous communist scum. They aim to destroy the country and turn it into a communist dictatorship but many have not grasped this yet. They are no different to the Nazis in Germany, who sneaked into authoritarian power. We must destroy them" To be honest I think you will find as many parallels between what BoJo is doing a what happened during the rise to power of the nazis. The tories are trying to hold their party together by swinging to the right as they know they are under existential threat from UKIP and that devil Farage - he truly is a fascist and Hitlers heir apparent

" They aim to destroy the country and turn it into a communist dictatorship but many have not grasped this yet. They are no different to the Nazis in Germany, who sneaked into authoritarian power. We must destroy them" This would be hilarious in its stupidity if it wasn't also a scary example of the current right wing mindset. Absolutely divorced from reality. Corbyn wanting to give a bit more power to workers and to nationalise the railways = communists/Nazis.

"As NHS can't imagine voting for any party adocating even more fragmentation through privatisation. Veering between labour or lib dem. Not JC fan as he gets very wishy washy when you need a strong voice e.g. referendum or Salisbury Russians. Good to see dirth of raging right wingers in swinger land. " Vote Lib Dem and they might prop up the tories irrespective of what they say in public about Brexit. Remember Clegg and no student cuts. Vote green?

After the Labour purge of the late 80's and the rise of the Blairites I moved to the Greens as I realised that Labour had become nothing more than ToryLite. Then when JC became the leader of Labour and reversed the lurch to the right of the Labour Party I returned to Labour as they now come closest to reflecting my political views and have the best chance to remove the Tories from power."

" The Labour Party, like most political parties, a broad based coalition. It should be able to function with Blairites and Corbyniistas working together. David Miliband is closer to Corbyn than he is to Johnson, or even someone seen as a tory moderate like Amber Rudd.

"As for the original question, I vote with my brain, and it says Labour. I prefer to have well funded public services for the benefit of the whole of society thank you very much. I want the vulnerable in society to be looked after. I want my rights as a worker to be protected not undermined. " That equates to higher taxes, more expensive products to pay for those services and workers rights. So generally you would be worse off, unless you can think of areas where there should be less public spending.

Close tax loop holes, why can Starbucks and Amazon get away with paying virtually no corporation tax? Chase tax dodgers. HMRC have had their revenue teams cut and what a surprise, most estimates are that tax dodging has increased as people can get away with it. I would happily pay more for properly funded services as we all lose out (presuming you aren’t earning super bucks) including me, when services are cut. Poverty increases, police numbers are cut, crime goes up, my insurance premiums go up and quality of life goes down.

My accountant saved me a pile of tax , so i made up the balance . Gave £150 k to my local hospital By buying specialist kit for them & a couple of other 6 figures sums to 2 causes close to my heart. The 2nd time i got humped for not having earnt enough to pay my tax fully for the previous 3 years. As for others & there millions Its up to them , i only do what i think helps my mind be settled .
