The will of the people

Everyone keeps on talking about it, the will of the people this and the will of the people that.

What is the will of the people?

Is it in actual fact really the will of one group of people in the country?

Therefore it should not be used as an inclusive word.

More like the will of the group of uk voters.

Thoughts?

I guess your talking about bloody Brexit.Thev people voted out, even the polititions that disagreed should have said ok this is bad but hoe can we make the best of this.

TYhis was not voted for on party lines and should have done by the parties working together from day one, this is the big lesson.

I realise this simple point is far to much for pig headed ignorant selfish polititions to grasp and the same applies to the remoan voters

I agree with you Emma.

Minority government, by definition, requires a consensus approach.

Unfortunately, neither Mrs May nor Mr Johnson could find consensus in their own party, never mind across the House.

I agree given the vote was fairly well split in two, there should have been a collabarative approach to find a solution which most people would find acceptable.

Likely this would be a soft brexit. Many remainers would have been just about okay. Its not remain, but its not terrible. Many leaveemfs would be okay. Its not as a complete a divorce as I'd like, but it's addressed my main concerns.

Instead we are fast tracking to the extreme end of leave. Its like we will ignore 48%, and divine where the 52% are on the scale.

At best we are going with the majority view of the majority. But that by no means we are going with the majority. We voted for fish over chicken and are going for sushi... Even tho if given the choice of sushi versus chicken, the majority may want chicken. They only gites fish because they like cooked fish.

It is funny though . Imagine voting leave and then expecting to get exactly what you wanted when the PM at the time and the majority of MPs wanted to remain? We’re these leave voters deluded? Lied to? A bit stupid? All the signs were there that this would happen yet they ignored them and still voted to leave .

Well, whoever they are, you'd be forgiven for thinking there's only 17.4 million of them in the UK; or, at least, what they want is the only thing that matters.
