Well it’s 2.30pm and not one thread or mention of this ... so here goes!

Sarah Wollaston - now a LibDem MP

Voted in as a Conservative MP at 2017 election - winning with a 14k majority with a Conservative manifesto.

Totnes - 54% leave at 2016 referendum

Now a LibDem MP representing a totally different of ideals, policies .

Happy days for the 3% LibDem voters - piss poor for the 54% conservative voters

There's a lot of water left to run under the bridge before we might be back at the polls.

I'm wary at this stage of predictions about who may or may not be elected, since at this stage we simply do not know the policy context - pre-Brexit or post-Brexit.

And if Johnson's brinkmanship with the EU leads to a Conservative manifesto promising the nuclear option, there will be quite an exodus of moderate Conservatives following her.

I can think of lots who could not stand on such a manifesto.

With Woolaston winning her seat via a Tory manifesto and Chukka winning his with a Labour manifesto , ( both quite substantially ) it is fair to say that the person responsible for the next LibDem manifesto is going to have an interesting dilemma

She's been an MP since 2010.

In 2011 she supported Zac Goldsmiths proposals to make it a rule that any MP that changed parties would automatically trigger a by-election

Yet, she refuses to call one herself after changing parties twice.

And actually admitted that she won't call one because her constituency would vote Conservative

She is a typical modern day two faced self scented politition no wonder all the parties are crap and nobody trust them

he will as soon as the uk is out.He wont before because the tory vote will be split by the brexit party.

At this rate he might be forced to though - I thought there is a court case to determine whether convention and the Law allows him to call a GE whilst a major policy change is underway.

There is a case being heard in Edinburgh on the legality of prorogation.

It is being started there because the English court is on holiday, apparently.

The same group basically who won the Article 50 ruling late in 2018.

Jo Swinson among them.

I imagine any chicanery by Johnson in September and October to thwart the will of the Parliament will be raised straight away in the courts in London, assuming they are back.

Poor ole' queenie, must be hoping so anyway - it takes the pressure off her if the courts have ruled the legality or illegality of something.
