Racist abuse of Lib Dem Councillor

A Lib Dem Councillor was aledgedly racially abused on the tube today which is totally unacceptable if true and the offenders need to be locked up. But it does raise an important question.

What in this world would ever drive someone down the path where they think it is accetable to become a Lib Dem Councillor?
