The BBC receives around half a million pounds each year from the EU for "research and development". It is impossible to calculate the amount of cash that the independent production companies (including those that provide factual or current affairs programming) that work solely for the BBC get from EU sources, but it could be as high as 10%. It is not surprising that there is a little bit of bias.

" Oh don’t be so ridiculous - if you actually think you live in a society where the government controls the media, please go visit a few countries where that is actually the case.

"What absolute bollocks! In this day and age you can choose whichever politically biased news channel you like! Dont talk nonsense! If you have any common sense you take everything they say with a big pinch of salt and remember who is paying the piper! Government controlled media? You are talking out of your arse! " So the beeb isn't run by the government? And the money that you are compelled to pay by law doesn't support it? I would never be so crass as to say 'you are talking out your arse' but ....

" So you think they are the same as Russia Today? Perhaps sky news is unbiased with no political agenda? Or should we be reading the morning star? The bbc has been perfectly happy to give plenty of airtime to rabid right wing fuckwits in the belief that fairness to all opinions is good. The fact that the brexiteers want to say that its all a government managed conspiracy shows you just how utterly gullible they are. If you want everything to turn into that sclerotic old fucker murdochs view of the world then go ahead and run with it but it will cost you in the long run. Also dont forget that the bbc is not just a news organisation, they produce some pretty good other stuff and charge you less per month than sky for a far wider choice.

" Just to side note this, no you're not, you're paying the TV licence if you have ways of recieving live TV broadcasts on your premises. If you can prove you can not and do not, you'll be exempt until a re-evaluation date. We're currently exempt until March 2020.

"So, I see people putting up links to stories in various papers, or from "experts", both pro and anti brexit. Then others jump in and comment, saying this or that paper is left or right wing biased, you can't trust what they say blah blah blah. So, does anyone have a source for news that ISNT in some way biased? I'm pretty sure that no-one does. So, how are we supposed to form an educated opinion?" People are too lazy to fact check their arguments, Full fact and snopes can help, everytime someone says something outlandish then just go there, post the confirmation in here to prove or disprove it. If they are wrong refer them to google safe search, because clearly they are not prepared to use the internet properly.
