we all know grayling is inept.... but what williamson is accused of is way beyond unforgivable...

there is going to be huge pressure for him to lose his ministerial pension, his whip, and for him to resign his seat altogether

if there is enough evidence to sack him, if it were any other civil servant they would have the CPS hanging over them right now... I can see how either williamson or someone in his inner circle doesn't have a "official secrets act" charge coming....

Heathrowish

He is supposed to be cleared to see and judge upon Top Secret material.

If the allegation about leaks is correct, he apparently has broken the various Official Secrets Acts in force.

Would be a trial "in camera" (ie behind closed doors) though due to the material involved.

May though is an utter idiot to allow huawei near the 5G network, cannot trust that company due to its close ties with the chinese government.

In what way has he not broken the Official Secrets Act - on the face of it, he is banged to rights. Seems pretty justified that he should have the book thrown at him, otherwise any Minister will feel they can discuss whatever they want to with whomever they wish.

" He was irresponsible but he has not broken the official secrets act"

erm.... hate to break this to you..

anything said and information given in a national security council meeting is top secret... and anyone remotely close to that meeting, preparing notes ect would have to have signed the official secrets act!

the problem is.. is this had come from a civil servant, they would have been sacked... and police would have been investigated...

this has happened in the past when civil servants have given secrets to journo's and in one case an mp.

so you can't have one rule for them and one for everyone else....

"We will know about 5G it is not a knew bomb or such like"

Your right, it is not like a new bomb, a new bomb if used would be able to destroy a part of the country if it had a viable delivery system.

5G will withing months of rolling out be the carrier that controls virtually the whole country and if switched off or ordered to will be able to switch off every smart device or every system with a smart controller in the country (and maybe further afield) including civil aircraft in flight.

So as you suggest, no need to worry. After all foreign powers with that sort of power would never use it or threaten to use it for its own gain. All we have to do is look at President Trump and Putin for proof, neither of those 2 men would use any lever available to them to gain an advantage... No, something does not sound quite right there, if only I could put my finger on whatever it is...

The majority of the cabinet are beyond contempt, they are of such poor character - few should have got such positions on merit and many of them have failed to the extent they should also have been sacked. Johnson was obviously another of the inept failures but she chose to keep him somewhat close. May is definitely a catastrophic failure, when she was a minister and PM. But people will vote for these massive failures

Williamson should face prosecution. But will probably get offered a new role in a few weeks.

Afterall, as has been mentioned any counter action by hi now will take place in secret due to the Official Secrets Act. Just smells a bit 'iffy' to me.

Penny Mordaunt is another untrustworthy one.

She was part of a firm called Media Intelligence Partners.

It was founded by a guy called Nick Wood, who ran the press office of Duncan Smith when he was Tory leader.

A PR and lobbying outfit, notorious for taking money to smear individuals and organisations with stories placed in newspapers.

All Tory apparatchiks.

Cut from the same sort of self-serving cloth as Williamson, but wiser when it comes to foot-in-mouth remarks.

If the man admitted his guilt, then he will be culpable, then his life will be trully fucked.

But we always see this, politicians caught doing something, steneously deny it, then take the issue to court, and then get prosecuted. By then the world has moved on and no one gives a toss.

There is a lot of truth in what you say. But current circulating information (I do not know if it is US negative propaganda or not) is that Hauwei acts as an agent of the Chinese government and implants firmware tracker programs in all their hardware. If this is true then I for one would not let them anywhere near our infrastructure. But then seeing as we are leaving the EU and need to find new partners to replace the ones we are fucking off then it may be a great political move. (Not one I would make tho. But then I am a lot more untrusting than most when it comes to our national security.)

More like sacked for being a threat to PMTM.

It appears, Sedwell had already decided he was guilty before the investigation was held.

Also in a clear breach of protocol, Sedwell was a member of the NSC and thus a suspect however he conducted the inquiry.

And if there's any evidence why not a Police investigation and prosecution?
