All seem to think that we had it so good in the 70's and 80's.
Yes we've made our little pile but we didn't work two jobs for 60 and 70 hours per week just to hand it all over to the "yoof" so they can sit on their arses moaning that they have to get out of bed to turn up for a non job for 35 hours a week less sickies.
If you want to escape so called "austerity" then go and get a 2nd job like we did. There must be plenty about as we keep hearing that we need so many immigrants to fill them, so it can't be that difficult.

The time spent in retirement is still long (compared to when state pensions were first introduced). And the triple lock makes them more expensive (so arguably the later pension age just offsets a cost) combine this with an increasing ratio of retirees to workers and it becomes even more unaffordable. | |||
