"I don't know - we've had some awful ones, so perhaps the safe bet is to assume it's going to be as bad - or worse Boris has a chance but there are moves against him. Amber Rudd is desperate for it but she's got form as a wolf in sheep's clothing" Just talking about this .. given the amendments that are about to be passed I bet Soubry is gutted she left.

"Surely we'll get to vote for the next Prime minister of our own country. We'd never settle for an unelected Prime minister, would we " well.... about 150,000 people will get a vote if she steps down...... which kinda skewers the whole "democracy" arguement that people who don't want a 2nd vote put forward!

"Surely we'll get to vote for the next Prime minister of our own country. We'd never settle for an unelected Prime minister, would we " Douglas Home, unelected then lost an election. Callaghan, unelected then lost an election. Major, unelected then fought elections. Brown, unelected then lost. May, unelected then fought an election. Could go back further but it is less rare than people think. Over the same period, Wilson, Heath, Thatcher, Blair and Cameron took up the role directly after elections.

"You've got Mrs May until at least the end of June, deal or no deal. Dependent on how the next few days/weeks go, it could come down to a straight fight between a hard right candidate and a more moderate centrist candidate. Personally, I like David Liddington. He commands great respect and is naturally engaging, something Mrs May sadly lacks." Liddingtons voting record is pretty horrific reading. He votes against gay rights He votes against fox hunting bans He votes against equality and human rights He votes for decreasing benefits He votes for reducing housing benefits He always votes for war He votes mixed on environmental legislation

"Surely we'll get to vote for the next Prime minister of our own country. We'd never settle for an unelected Prime minister, would we " Really? We vote for our local MP. None of us get to vote for the PM. Technically speaking, a party can change leader after securing victory in an election. Here's a thought. Lets say you have a party that wins an election, but the party leader loses their seat in the process. That leader can not become PM, so the party would have to select a new leader. What do you do then? Rerun the election?

"she will only go if her deal goes through and the DUP will not so she might stay yet!!!" She'll be counting on the personal ambition of Johnson being enough to strong-arm his chums in the DUP. What will he be promising them as the next PM in return for abstaining on May's vote, assuming Bercow allows it?
