Brexit is become a joke lately. This my point of view if we sign a no deal Brexit were going to be worsted off than when were where in the EU other than that if we get what we want from Brexit we better off.. The truth is PM is making a meal of it maybe she going to be kick out soon who knows if that happen I think they are going to invoke article 52 to stay in the EU. In the end I have no right to say this due to my upbringing abroad for most of my life so I wish it turn out ok for everyone else. Post your thought on this.

Newcastle and Gateshead

the deal she is bringing back doesn't change a single word in the withdrawal agreement.... and doesn't remove the backstop, it only give flowery assurances that the EU don't want the trap the UK in the backstop, which we knew from the start (it was only the paranoid DUP and ERG'ers that thought this......)

nothing changes........ and if the government try to whip this thru.... i think the government would be in trouble

May’s deal is a pile of EU appeasing shit that Chamberlain would have been proud of. It’s what the pro remain slag has drawn up to ensure we are stuck with the EU forever.

Central

The conservatives have made a joke of Brexit for the past 3 years. This is the party who started it and has still not decided what it wants. It's wasted almost 2 years of article 50 time, that should have been used for negotiations, instead trying to agree themselves what it is they want. And that's irrespective of any offer made.

Article 50 should be revoked as the UK isn't ready to negotiate or leave. Currently better staying in than all of the exit ideas.

"May’s deal is a pile of EU appeasing shit that Chamberlain would have been proud of. It’s what the pro remain slag has drawn up to ensure we are stuck with the EU forever."

Actually, Chamberlain bought the coumtry enough time to pivot the country to military production and allowed just enough time to build adequate aircraft and train enough aircrew to win the Battle of Britain and create the platform for our survival and eventual victory.

Otherwise an excellent and well thought through analysis

But you've said on various other threads we didn't win the battle of Britain. It was all those Poles and airmen from around the rest of the world who won it for us, as we're so utterly incapable of ever doing anything for ourselves.

LOL, we must have had some foreigners along to help build the empire, surely we couldn't have done it on our own!

Well, we kind of did, but kind of didn't.

Kind of took the Roman ethos of dividing less unified groups, fighting in the field, then having beaten them, we, like the Romans installed a friendly client regime or ruler.

We very rarely ruled by direct rule, and policed directly. Easy way of getting a revolutionary counter movement going. Better to keep the existing societal structures in place, keep the nobility and warrior class happy and get them on side, so they do the Law and order for you.

Not saying that the empire was built and staffed by foreigners, but perhaps read about your own history before you look at a map and sip tea.

Who knows you might enjoy learning.

Twisting words.

Most people just acknowledge how as the world's hegemon at the height of its power, we did indeed use our power and influence to equip and find the war effort for mon-brits.

Actually I have stated that we didn't "stand alone".

Would we have won without the handicap of airmen from Eastern Europe, Canada, Australia...

Would we have won without the raw materials and food from all over the Empire?

You're certainly proving incapable of learning from history

With my job I have just spoken to a lady who has returned to live in England after living in Spain for 23 years.

She was trying to sell her property for 11 years and has nothing good to say about Spain economically and says Britain must leave the EU asap.
