With The Independent Group polling higher than the Lib Dems

Blukip at the top of the tree

And the new communists 2nd

Do you think Thresa May will call a snap election and make her power absolute?

Would sacking JC make a difference in your voting habits?

She does not have the power to unilaterally call a GE. Two thirds of Parliament would have to vote for it meaning that JC would have to be on board with it and that is not a given with the number of recent Labour departures and others that may be on the cards.

Also, remember that May has given a commitment not to stand as PM in the next election. There may well be a change of PM in the Spring and that person may want to secure themselves a fresh mandate. But again, it all depends what happens with Zlabour between now and then.

If we had a snap election then May would need the DUP, Greens & libdems for a majority

Old Steptoe would agree to an election because he is deluded enough to think he'd win it, after all, how many times since the last one has he been trying to find some way of usurping the elected government to sneak into number 10 by any other means.

The thing is, I believe that a lot of those who voted for him last time now see him for what he really is - and the whole anti-semitism thing can't be helping his chances either

Nope. Her successor might, but the whole point of having a snap election would be to gain more seats in the house so that (next conservative leader) wouldn't need to do a confidence and supply agreement or coalition.

Oh, and the Greens only have one MP

Her commitment was for 2022.

The two thirds majority is interesting. Would call JCs bluff a little ....

I don't think a GE is on the cards right now. I think if we either leave the EU with no deal or don't actually leave the EU at all then a GE would not only be likely but absolutely necessary.

Only after BREXIT is sorted one way or another does the possibility of a GE come about, and only after BREXIT is sorted one way or another can those responsible for whatever BREXIT (or no BREXIT) we actually end with be held properly to account.
