Apparently the Treasury confirmed that no trade meeting was cancelled by Philip Hammond to China because our Defence secretary wanted to send our semi-operational aircraft carrier to the South China Sea to show them how great we are.

At least, they confirmed that no confirmed trade meeting was cancelled but they may have cancelled the one that they were discussing having.

So that's good.

"Trump will tell us if we're allowed to negotiate trade with China when and if we Brexit"

That's speculation on your part with no hard evidence to back it up.

What Donald Trump DID say on record at last Fridays televised press conference at the White House was that trade between the UK and the USA will increase substantially after Brexit.

It will.

I heard it discussed at length on a local news channel in December.

For some reason, some American commentators seem to think that the U.K. will roll over in happiness at the help that US pharmaceutical and healthcare companies can offer. They seem to think that our “ancient, socialist healthcare system” can be modernised to a co-pay system with the benefit of a trade deal and this would transform the NHS into a healthcare system “as good as ours.”

How many trade deals would be signed on the 30/3/19?

How easy would they and the brexit deal be?

Anyone waking up to how much they have been shafted by the tories?

Anyone waking up to how long the tories have been feeding them the same lie in order to get them to support the tories stealing everything they have?

At what point will working class tory voters work out they are have been conned by the CONservative party for the last 40 years?

the speculation is based on the us Canada Mexico FTA is it not ? It’s not hard hard evidence but it’s also not pure speculation.

Would you want to negotiate trade with a nation whose jingoistic Minister declares you to be a threat to their safety and security?

I noticed Mrs May distanced herself from that jumped-up schoolboy Williamson.

She understands better than him just how much of planning spending on infrastructure in the UK relies on Chinese investment.

Not looking great with Japan either:

Apparently they were very close to cancelling trade talks after a letter from Hammond and Fox telling them the ‘time is of the essence’.

Is there no end to our negotiating crapness?

These are continuity deals I think.

Switzerland is certainly time limited.

Yea in whose favour? We already sell more to them than they do to us, so on America First that means we will be buying more off them !

That’s right.

Mr Fox is finding this tougher going than he said it would be.

Having persuaded people to leave the EU, all he has done is persuade a handful of countries to trade with us on the same terms as, um, er, the EU.

£16bn is a big number, that's what he has achieved, however, he's failed to convert £101bn which is a bigger number. There he was saying how easy it was going to be!
