"A form of government where the least qualified or most unprincipaled individuals are in power! Sums it up adequately I think!" Or, we get the politicians we deserve?

"They say that everybody gets promoted to the level at which they are incompetent (and therefore don't get promoted past it). Good at your job, promoted to the next level where you thread water at best. " The Peter Principle - everyone reaches his (or her) level of incompetence

"Is Kaki a French word for Crap? I think the Op means "kak", Afrikaans for shit! " Très drôle! Actually it's a 17th century word, which has become popular in the 21st century, to describe populist governments! It's only taken 400 years to reemerge.

I tend to be quite sceptical of the popularist these days, it seems to be used as a beating stick for people who don't vote for what the political elite want!. Where was the MSM describing Hillary Clinton as popularist when she was declaring she was taking on the banks single handedly (clearly wanted by the masses) or Jeremy Corbyn taking on the billionaires in nationalising the railways (bit of popularist nationalism). It seems as if it's only ever used for right wing popular ideas and never left wing ones?.
