No, you're not Mr TI - plenty of people in the politics forum do Plus many people who have already lost money or had their money wasted on this endeavour. Anyone saving money, in preparation for higher shopping bills, should the UK leave?

To be honest, I’m more concerned that we are on a rock floating in space, so that puts whether we are in the EU or not into perspective, I say we ride it and see what new adventures it will lead too.

Im not bothered about Brexit in general apart from the worry that it might be difficult to get medication, for one of my children that would be life altering in a very bad way.

Yes, but it is very much in the hands of the politicians currently which I have zero trust in the vast majority of. Its boring and stale and any news about brexit usually has something to do with politicians bickering over their own gains.

It may hit us hard, it may not. It may for anyone knows end up being the best thing this country ever did (not saying it will be).

Eventually we just have to. Accept shit is happening and try to roll with the punches, because staying it leaving things are not going to change for the better regardless.

I don’t think anyone knows what the future will hold. In the short term pretty much every one is saying that Brexit will be bad for the UK economy. Long term no one has a clue.

Then again, if we remained, no one had a clue either.

The shambolic situation we find ourselves in is not good for the country. The government is crap but so are the opposition. It’s a sorry state of affairs.

I agree, it got boring a long time ago. Yes it's huge for the country but in my opinion Cameron should have never put it to a vote in the first place. I stopped watching the news because that's all they talk about. Think of all the other important things that need dealing with that have probably been neglected due to Brexit.

Is that because you haven’t grasped how serious the situation is, all moaning aside the reason why this is such an emotive subject is because there is so much at stake.

If this is mishandled (and let’s face it competence isn’t any British governments strong suit) it has the potential to plunge the country into a recession.

You remember those don’t you, austerity cuts in funding for public services, large employers going under as an almost daily occurrence.

The advent of food banks being a thing just to name a few of the highlights.

People are making decisions for you and they may not be in your best interest.

So probably best start giving a fuck about brexit because before you know it your world could change.

Ultimately the nature of economic cycles is that we are due a recession anyway, regardless of Brexit. The outcome of US v China will have a much bigger impact on the overall long term economic trends for this country.

Yes but it's largely out of our hands at this point is the what most feel about it. It's in the hands of the incompetent and all we can really do is sit back and watch until any true power is given to us. We care about what the outcome may or may not be but the whole song and dance bullshit show of hearing of the bickering of its handlong is well past its interest factor.

Not really. Comedians tell loads of jokes about subjects they couldn’t give a shite about....including football clubs like Manchester City.

The op might be just checking out the reactions to this subject and figuring who he might get on with.

I often shout ‘who wants a drink?’ At my local at last orders, all those that say “ME”, I know we won’t get on.

The obvious response is because we won't make it worse for ourselves- the European economy is in dire straits and will drag us down if we stay aligned with it.

That’s different that was a referendum not an election, an election is basically picking a bunch of people to do a job. Their campaign is their interview and if they are shit they get sacked.

A referendum is basically making a decision about something that’s too contentious for a politician to decided. Or something that will have implications for generations.

The idea is that if it all fucks up then you only have yourselves to blame, regardless of the fact the majority of the population have neither the skills or experience to make a concise or informed decision.

I know I certainly didn’t, I took the view that I would with my central heating, this is working ok so I’ll probably not mess with it. I’ll definitely not get the chuckle brothers (boris/farrage eat al) to mess with it. Maybe it could be made better but it would need to be people that know what they are doing and we definitely know the chuckle brothers don’t so it can only end one way.

No one did, it was a political ploy by Cameron, he was worried about losing people to UKIP so made a deal with brexiters in his own party. He must have thought that will shut them up and he had the backing to hold off UKIP.

Basically his bluff was called, he realised that it was a bad idea and be a massive ballache so he fucked off

"as i see it we had two choices to remain or leave

If it goes tits up then those who chose to leave will realize the consequences of there actions. I didnt ask them to change things but i dont moan about it we live in a democratic society and the vote was that more people wanted out

I have to say i dont think anyone actually believed the vote would go that way but hey ho it did

Based on lies and ignorance though. People have a right to moan.

And you are just talking about the Remain campaign so yes brexiteers have every right to moan"

Uh?

His point is both sides were were throwing shit and lies. Neither side was innocent in the truth.

They polished a shit and tried to pass it off as anything but.

Thats politics.

Very few politicians (and supporters) will do things for the good of the masses. Twist and bend the truth til it breaks to get you on their side.

Its the only way an individual will get things done is if they put themselves out to change things

"..who couldn’t give a fuck about Brexit ?

I say we ride this thing and see where it takes us.

(Thread watchers, this is my second thread today, started in my lunch break. Apologies for any offence caused)

Politicians make decisions for us every day of the week . They will never be in everyones or virtually anyones best interest.

Or anything we can do about? You can give as much fuck as you want, but they make the choices and changes.

There is something we can do about it, it’s called democratic process, we can vote them out you know that’s totally a thing, it’s all the range. What you do is you give a fuck you watch what they are up to and listen to what they say. Then every time there is a vote you vote for the one that best serves your needs. It all goes on regardless so if you don’t vote you don’t affect the outcome.

Thats what happened though isnt it. Not everyone is on the same side so they voted for the one they thought best served them. Hence always a split. There's no winning the arguement

Fast forward 2 years, house is Furby down and flooded, not surprised "

Well all I can say is change is not always to be feared. I dont get much more politicàl than that Im afraid.

Wow just wow, yes two world wars did have a worse impact on the economy.

You are right we are doing ok as a country, we put mechanisms in place to ensure that we wouldn’t have a large scale conflict on main land Europe again. One of those mechanisms was the European Union. We haven’t had a war for 70 years, even tho there has been quite a lot of falling out on the edges.

Change is scary, change is also painful.

I care about it, but only because I really want it to happen. As for the so called “consequences,” I couldn’t care less. Some people have money to lose, but I don’t. I want to be a UK citizen only, fuck the EU.
