JC has accused may of running down the clock on the vote by setting the date in the 3rd week of January.

I have to agree as they could have voted well before then, seems to me she is trying to get a panic vote through.

I don't think that's a controversial interpretation.

Fear has driven the entire issue.

Remain, Leave, how we leave, if we leave.

It inevitably leads to bad decision making.

Corbyn is a leaver in remainers clothing. He may say these things in public but is secretly hoping May continues to run down the clock.

It feels the clock has been run down. If it’s voted down, what will be achieved in the extra two weeks?

If it’s a choice between May and a “managed no deal” we should get a firm idea of what a MND means eg whixh bits are being managed and to what end. So any binary vote can be made eyes wide open. As it is MND is as I’ll defined as any of the other soundbite brexits.

Her eyes are on the retention of power primarily, with the vote an inconvenience. If she put the country first, she would have ensured the vote was taken as early as possible, so that a plan B could have been pursued quickly, if voting was unsupportive.

The conservatives driver for Brexit all along has only been their own greed for power, initially as an election referendum pledge, latterly May's survival, pushing the UK close to catastrophe that it's not prepared for. They retain power and many will make large financial gains, unlike the majority who will have their lives permanently defrauded upon

Wow, no shit Sherlock! - It has been obvious for some time that Ms May has been running down the clock. She doesn’t want BREXIT in any shape or form. Her ridiculous deal was approved by the EU because it was just as bad, if not worse for us than remaining. Upon finding out that it was not going to get through Parliament, (which she must have expected), she declared that remaining in the EU was still an option.

If these clowns ran a big company and run it the way they are all trying to run the country they would all be sacked.

Sometimes I wonder should I become a politician as I am sure I could do a better job

I understand that you believe this.

It is not true. What you were told about the ease of Brexit and how great it would be and how we could get all of the benefits of trade without cost are lies.

This is the deal they could get. It's a reflection of our actual strength as a nation on its own.

Thinking otherwise is self-delusion. However, a fantasy is often far easier to cling to than accepting reality.

I never imagined that it would be easy, and having seen what happened in countries like Greece and Ireland, I was convinced that our politicians would force us into a second referendum. I still think they would have if they thought they would get away with it.

Our strength as a nation comes from within, and as a people we don’t back down. It is decades of phony politicians that have made us appear weak. But I do believe that we will get a hard BREXIT now. Ms May has played her hand and it is a busted flush. Don’t worry the UK ain’t going to sink, it just might take a while to right itself.

Happy new year all!

Forced?

If the same people are given the same choice and change their mind you define that as "forced"?

If the situation and information changes and the same make a different choice that's "forced"?

You are really going to play the victim?

You are saying that the British people are not that strong if they will just flip flop like this. Is that what you think? Is it that as a country our conviction is not that strong? Marginal at best. If we believe, we'll vote to leave and elect hard Brexiteers to lead us.

No problem surely?

Words are empty. Write what you think will happen rather than say everything will will be fine at some unspecified point in the future. You are no better than the politicians you claim to despise if you do that.

If a people allow their govt to foist numerous referendums about the same thing in them until they get the result they want, then those people are weak and are always likely to toe the line eventually.

We had one election, and that was supposed to be that. The fact that the politicians and other wastrels didn’t like the outcome means that they have kept us in limbo for the best part of two years now. They are treating us like mushrooms, keeping us in the dark and feeding us on shit. Then one sunny day they hope to make us vote again on it, or just cancel it completely.

If we allow them to do that, then we are as weak and spineless as the Greeks and the Irish.

It's a circular and contradictory argument for yourself then.

The British are strong and made the "right" decision. They wee not swayed by the "lies".

However, there is a conspiracy by the "establishment". The British are weak and are easily manipulated. If given the choice again they will make the "wrong" decision.

For you it is not possible that the negotiation was carried out in good faith and that this is the best possible outcome. You don't want to believe that you might have been lies to.

Is it possible at least?

Don’t twist my words little man, I am certain that we made the correct decision when we voted to BREXIT. I’m also aware that other nations given a similar referendum voted leave and then were almost immediately forced to hold the same referendum again, and again, until they got a remain vote, and then there were no further referendums.

Personally I don’t believe in the British fptp electoral system, and don’t support any of the major parties, so did not listen to any of the propaganda, lies or otherwise, that was being put out there. I honestly believe that we will be better off outside the EU, and the further the better.

I haven't "twisted" anything you've said. I've just written it from a different perspective. You can see that, right?

It seems that you don't "know" what you think you know. You are repeating lies.

No country that voted to leave the EU was forced into remaining in another referendum.

Some countries have not ratified treaties. Only Ireland had a revote where it changed its position. Treaties were modified in response to being rejected.

Look it up.

I'm not asking you to believe anything. I'm asking you to explain specifically jow the UK will be better off outside the EU. How long, how deep and who will be affected by this and what the specific benefits will be.

It's not a trick question. You must have thought about it so please just explain it rather than calling me a "little man" for no particular reason.

Just shouting that you believe something to be true is not very helpful. I'm not prepared to entrust the fate of a nation on belief. Give me a plan. I'll decide on that basis whether to put my heart and soul into it, not in an empty promise.

Read Animal Farm. Find out who Boxer is. Find out what he was promised and then see what his reward was.

If leave voters are so convinced BREXIT is best & as has been said on here that even more would now also vote to leave, what's to fear on having another vote on how BREXIT looks now we have a visual BREXIT to compare against staying ?
