He sort of mouthed it. Theresa May continues to goad him and he does rather lose it rather quickly.

However, he is an articulate and honourable man and an apology would, I'm sure, be received with good grace.

Don't know , I changed my mind , at first I thought he did say "stupid woman " obviously referring to May , then on 2nd viewing I thought he said "stupid people" referring to the shouting and hand waving taking place behind May , so not sure , , either way for May to pretend she is in some form of panto instead of being a Prime Minister answering questions at PMQs was quite embarrassing ,,,,

I am guessing that he will not apologise as it doesn't seem to be in his nature.

I may be wrong and time will tell.

What was interesting was the very immediate response from party sources denying the full phrase, one said it was "Stupid Tories" and the other "Stupid people" in the usual 'Jeremy is a saint' way without taking a more considered and reasoned view.

Actually, Jeremy Vine asked Dame Evelyn Glennie, the proundly deaf percussionist who relies on lip reading for communication, without an axe to grind, what was it that was said without putting it in context and she was certain it was as reported.

A quick apology would have killed the issue but I feel that this will run and run.

What seems stupid is PMQ's is held each and every week. Insults are thrown, questions are not answered, jeers and heckles are made readily. He hurls them often enough so whatever May said should really have been water off a ducks back.

Whether he said stupid woman or stupid people, his remark didn't fit the 'pantomime' narrative at the time. There was no need for it. He has 30 years Commons experience, he's worked with trade unions, he is supposed to be a diplomat and has credited himself with aiding the Belfast Agreement. How he managed to lose his cool so steeply, over May, making an easy Christmas jibe makes you wonder how he'd be in negotiation with Junker, Barnier or Tusk with their don't don't give a fuck attitude.

I've actually seen the footage now and yes, he most definitely said it.

I can understand why John Bercow has taken the position that it is inconclusive - because Corbyn has denied it and to brandish him a liar is unparliamentary - after all, Corbyn is supposed to be 'right honourable'

But having viewed it, it's blatantly obvious.

For example, the shape of the mouth is different when making a 'Woo' sound to making a 'pee' sound or a 'ma' sound.

Try it for yourself. Look in the mirror and say 'people' slowly, then do the same for 'woman'

He definitely said 'Stupid woman'

So, he is trying to get some questions answered in PMQs and Tresemae decides to go on the offensive with a scripted panto routine rather than answer them and Corbyn calls her a stupid woman. It was frustration that drove Corbyn to do it because she had no intentions of answering any real questions and was using the moment to pull her party back together before the Christmas recess. It was party politics at its worst and another betrayal of the duty to govern by Maygabe.

To reason it due to party politics given Labour have everything on the table to get into Government, is near-on lemming territory. Party politics is politics. Brexit itself has shown MP's from the Tories and Labour are split in what they want... 2nd referendums, deal/remain/wto, in/out of single market, customs union arrangement/territory, unlimited migration targets, quotas or reduction.

If her not answering a question grated him right to belittle her what excuse do you give for him calling another MP "a piece of shit"? (which he didn't refute to a reporter).

Funny how calling a woman who managed to trow away a parliamentary majority in a fit of hubris stupid is sexist and misogynistic but restoring the whip to 2 men accused of serious sexual offences against women in parliament is just fine. I guess thats because the former act was committed by the male labour leader of the opposition and the latter was done by the stupid woman Tory PM who couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery but can bribe loyalist terrorist apologists (with taxpayers money) and male Tory pervert MP's to stay in power...

Just my opinion, for what it is worth.

He claims he didn't say "stupid woman" but "stupid people". Are you saying he's lying? That would be even worse than the original comment.

To me it looks like he muttered "stupid people", he says he muttered "stupid people", no one can prove that he muttered anything else other than what he says he muttered, and he's the only one that actually knows what he muttered. Time to move on.

"Couldn’t care that he said it would of thought more of him as a man if he had came back and admitted it but would never be man enough "

That's assuming he said it but I don't think he did.

Really, I’m no lip reader but I think he did, I guess we all see different things and even if he did say it, so what. Is he not allowed to have an opinion ?

At Prime Ministers Questions this week , the Tory party were in uproar after they thought they saw The Leader Of The Opposition utter the words "stupid woman " and , if they had a grievance they had every right to raise this with The Speaker , , however prior to the last election the currant Father Of The House (Ken Clarke) referred to May as a "bloody difficult 'woman' ",there was no difficulty with lip-reading he used those words , then on Thursday The Tory party decided that Boris Johnson had just been using satire when describing some women as " looking like letter boxes" ,,,, my point is not what Corbyn might or might not have said , or wether Clarke is allowed his opinion , or wether Johnson can criticise a humans choice to their clothing ,, it's that the amount of "anger" shown imediately following PMQs appears to be very selective and incredibly inconsistent

He can't admit to saying it, as to call someone a stupid woman in the house is Contempt of Parliament, which could lead to sanctions against him, including temporary suspension.

Although it seems any MP can accuse any member of the public of anything without any evidence, even as far as contravening court rulings, and get away with it because it is their 'parliamentary privilege' to do so.

. Also , this week in Parliament , Ian Blackford (SNP) got up to speak , as soon as his name was called by the speaker and as Mr Blackford rose to his feet , a senior Conservative MP , Nicholas Soames shouted out that he should " go back to Skye" ,,, considering the failure of the tories to gain the landslide victory they sought in the last General Election and how much worse this would have been had it not been for the number of Conservative MPs who won seats , The Tory head office much bury their heads in their hands on hearing comments like that from English MPs which I would expect are not taken kindly to by many "north of the border " irrespective of how they did/will vote

Boris Johnson was cleared by an independent panel, chaired by a QC, not the Conservative Party.

"Well did he say it?

Yes he did you do not need to be very good at lip reading to see it.Oh yes I am fairly deaf so not a problem for me.

Nothing wrong with saying it but lying about shows the sort of two faced nasty little creep he is.This is the polite version.

He makes Tony Blaire look like Jesus"

Whoa, steady!
