"Have the erg made a mistake triggering the confidence vote now? It looks like the answer is yes as may albeit very close seems to have the numbers to stay but then labour will call a vote on the govt itself and that could just get through leading to an extension of a50, a battle between may and corbyn and a possible labour govt, and no brexit at all. " Yes - HUGE mistake and questionable (to say the least) judgement.

" There is absolutely nothing to suggest that it's the ERG wankers that have triggered the no confidence vote what so ever. The ERG could have easily claimed it was them to trigger it when Moggy publicly handed in his letter to the 1922 presuming his sheep followers would do so too but they didn't, resulting in a huge humiliation of the Prince of knobheads Moggsy. The ERG & Moggsy suffered a major public premature ejaculation & are now left flaccid & wilted.

"I think May has a possible sympathy support level that could keep her in, thus buying up to a year for her, so it's potentially an erg mistake: they're a sloppy lot of thinkers, whatever." Even if she wins tonight she won't be able to govern for another year. The DUP want her out and won't support her on votes in parliament in future. She can't lead a government without a majority and she doesn't have a majority without the support of the DUP. Only a new Tory leader will get the support of the DUP to continue the confidence and supply arrangement.

" the DUP are on a knife edge themselves ... the racist idiot leader they have at the moment has no support from her party and they are looking to get rid of her after brexit ... not to mention the corrupt ian paisly jr who today has been discovered to have accepted holidays gifted to him by the maldive government in return for political favours, after he narrowly escaped being sacked as an MP only to be suspended from parliament for 30 days for the same offences involving the sri lankan government ... NI may well return as republican at the next election

May, who was elected via a vote of her peers, and then backed (mostly) by the people is delivering on brexit. 40 odd MPs believe she is delivering the wrong type. If her fellow tory MPs do vote to keep her in, she is full as good as out. Because of a party who have a handful of MPs. And who dont represent the views of their part of the Union.

"deselection of ERG members is starting to be mentioned by consticuency activists" If they purge the rot the people can then have their BREXIT.

Celebrating political and social problems in European countries because it might have a negative effect on the EU. Now you are celebrating the same problems in our own country. Sad

"deselection of ERG members is starting to be mentioned by consticuency activists" It's militant lunatics in the far left Labour Momentum group who look to deselect Labour MP's who don't support Corbyn. Don't judge the Conservative party along the same lines as Momentum.
