What a piece of self promotion by the BBC. National radio news article this morning on Fiona Bruce being discussed as the new Chair of Question Time.

Is this really so important as to justify inclusion on prime radio news bulletin? On a parallel with Brexit, FGM etc?

Why not?

QT is a very popular programme and with DD announcing his retirement some time ago, there has been speculation about who may replace him.

It is at least a more sincere story than those about I’m a Celebrity, Kim Kardashians arse and Marks & Spencer’s knickers.

The BBC always reports on itself. It’s one of my gripes.

Can't say I've heard anything about KK or M&S knickers on national radio news. I must pay more attention.

Yes QT is popular but hardly of national importance.

I would have liked to see Andrew Neil taking over from David Dimbleby, but as the BBC always seems overly concerned with political correctness I bet they end up going with either a woman or an ethnic minority person as the new host.

A woman fronting a TV programme should not even be news.

That's not a difficult prediction to make bearing in mind they've already chosen a woman.

Has she been confirmed as the new host then? You say she's already been chosen?

I'd prefer people are picked on merit and their ability to do the job well rather than because of their sex or because of the colour of their skin.
