Heard the former director general of the British Chambers of Commerce John Longworth using that statistic on the BBC 2 Jeremy Vine radio show today. 92% of British businesses have no dealings with the EU and yet are bound by all the EU's rules, regulations and red tape. It is hugely damaging to 92% of British businesses that trade outside of the EU.

Our trade with the EU is 12% of uk gdp, so of course thats important but no one will say how much we would lose if we go WTO rules in a hard brexit, why ?

Yes there will be plenty of red tape when we leave its a huge growth industry and one of the reasons were struggle to compete against imports from countries that dont have a lot of the bollocks we do, the average customer doesnt care about compliance, provendance etc they buy on price, some claim that we will have a bonfire of regs etc that will be detrimental to hse and the environment etc but are happy to buy cheap chinese shit where very few rules over such things exist

The elites and the establishment supported remain. The government headed by Cameron and Osborne and the majority of the Conservative party backed remain during the referendum in 2016. The Labour party supported remain and only a small number of Labour MP's backed Leave. The Lib dems and the SNP backed remain, it was their official party position. Big business and multi national corporations backed remain. Hell the Prime minister even got the President of the United States Barack Obama to come over here and back remain! It's laughable that you think the elites orchestrated the whole Brexit vote.

There are an awful lot of vultures that are assembled to pick the carcasses to pieces - but these are predominantly the worst elements of politics and are those who would implement policies that would degrade the future lives of the majority of UK citizens. We're living in very dangerous times, where decades of well-being of all types, could be wasted, just from one of these very sick and dangerous vermin taking hold.

The Labour party is the only viable alternative that could take power, potentially in conjunction with other smaller parties. Jeremy Corbyn, despite the constant stream of smears against him, is a wholesome leader - and the results of the last general election showed that he has enormous appeal, despite the establishment lies and attempts to discredit him to the masses. As a leader he would not act in isolation but would represent the party's / the UK populations' requirements, thus delivering a stronger - in the fact the only - real alternative to the crud that currently has its grip of power.

To add to that independent bodies like Migration watch UK say immigration is a net drain on the country not a plus. Even Lib dem leader Vince Cable said just after the referendum result in 2016 that it was questionable whether immigration was a net benefit to the country and he thought it may be neutral neither a plus nor a negative.

The US primarily unleashed the forces of nationalism and some pretty unsavoury characters led a coup that formed a new government.

Those same characters came to power with a pledge of ethnic cleansing - to eradicate the minority ethnic Russian influences by whatever means necessary.

Hence Russia stepped in to protect the ethnic Russians.

It illustrates my point about nationalism in a country with a multiplicity of ethnicity.

Northern Ireland is another example closer to home.

Two distinctive ethnic groups - one British, one Irish.

For years, one ethnic group was divided in two by a border imposed by the other ethnic group.

Remove that border and both ethnic groups can move freely.

Now, with a resurgence of English/British nationalism, we are talking again about creating divisions between people of the same ethnicity.

Nationalism finds expression in different ways.

It can be driven by pride (as seems obvious in your case).

It becomes a problem when pride becomes exceptionalism.

Or it can be driven by resentment and fear - grudge politics.

That is what gives rise to the demagogues and populists - that your life would be great again were it not for that lot over there who are "different".

You can see that on the fringes of Scottish nationalism, where it can more about resentment of the English than pride in your own ethnicity.

I think you need to look at what happened in Yugoslavia. It has not been split in two. It has actually been split in 6. More importantly, of those 6 parts 5 of them are either already members of the EU or actively seeking membership. Seems like the people who lived through the Yugoslav break up are a lot happier with what the EU tried to do than BREXITERS like to believe or make out.

1. How long has the draft withdrawal agreement been out? How many alt right brexiteers are there and how many have submitted a letter?

2. Assuming we eventually get to 48 - and assuming they then get 156 Tory MP's to oust her who is going to stand up?

3. Most of the Gobshites don't want it NOW. JRM likes to promote all sorts of deals - he's put forward WTO, Canada +, bespoke exceptional deal we hold all the cards - so which one?

I think ERG and JRM have shot their load prematurely. If they were as strong as they thought in the Conservative MPs the 48 needed would have been in by now. Even if they reach 48 now it's too late, the momentum has been lost. Also it's being seen, not only by the country but by Conservative Party members, as self indulgent and irrelevant. Changing the leader will change nothing, the choice will still remain leave with this deal, leave with no deal or don't leave at all.

Plenty on their report on Asian groomers (including critiques). Given their agenda this doesn’t surprise me.
