According to polls we’d get the same result. I don’t know if we should trust the polls or not, they’re not that accurate these days.

The government can’t allow us to crash out on a no deal Brexit. At least I hope not. As it would be an unmitigated disaster for the country.

None of the politicians will support a remain vote being on the ballot paper.

The most likely option is some kind of deal which is going to be like what we have now but worse and without a seat at he decision making table.

Refarendums don’t work. People can be too easily influenced to vote against their own interest. The politicians need to stand up and do the right thing, make the decisions on behalf of the interest of the people of this country. Do their job. But they won’t, they’re too scared about losing votes in the next GE.

To be honest the only one I saw recently was the channel 4 commissioned one. So most of my poll based info is a bit out of date.

"Tony Blair is a prick. Thread over."

But he was elected 3 times and it was the left and the right of centre, some of who were tories before and later on went back..

I wasn't keen on the guy, thought he was a bit of a second hand car dealer and totally got the gulf War wrong and other things but he was at that time the choice of the electorate..

And I never voted for him post 97..

Blair, Nick Clegg and Michael Heseltine put their names to an article in the Guardian, published in October, entitled:

"Blair, Clegg and Heseltine: why we need another EU referendum"

Thats because you only look at the biased 'People's Vote' commissioned polls.

I think that Leave would win again and here's why. A lot of people in the midlands and the north voted Leave because they thought their voices weren't being heard on issues like membership of the EU, and if they are asked to vote on this again, they will vote leave again in bigger numbers to say "DIDN'T YOU LOT IN LONDON HEAR US THE FIRST TIME!!!"

I’m not too sure as I think you would get a lot more younger voters turning out so could go right the other way.

Blair needs to top up on the head and shoulders though looking at his suit

You'd also get some people who voted Remain last time changing their vote for Leave in a new referendum because they see a new vote as anti-democratic, as the first vote is essentially being ignored. JimiUK a poster on here is an example who said he voted Remain last time but would vote Leave now if there is another referendum.

Also: It would follow the momentum of the 2018 midterm elections in the US; I would easily see a 55% remainers victory. The pound would nicely jump towards 1.20 against the euro and head back to 1.30 in a matter of weeks... Miss the good times already.

"What would the question be ???"

Remain or Leave. What else? The only thing most of the country is united on is that this deal is a bad deal. It gives us less control of our law than we have now; it gives us less control of our money than we have now; it gives slightly, but not much, more control of our borders than we have now. It has nearly all the obligations of being in the EU with few of the benefits. It leaves us subject to EU law with no say in the making of that law.

This deal is not taking back control or sovereignty but giving up and surrendering both.

All that being said it is still probably the best BREXIT deal possible, which is why BREXIT must be stopped.

"What would the question be ???"

It can't be Leave or Remain as we've already had that vote and the country chose Leave.

The only possible question for a new referendum now is to accept the deal or leave with no deal.

You really need to get your head out of the sand and smell the coffee.

There's a long way to go before we even get to the question of a referendum.

First TMs deal has to be defeated in parliament. That won't be for 2 or 3 weeks yet. Once defeated the most likely thing to happen next, and to get Parliamentary support, is an extension to Article 50 and another set of negotiations (but we won't get anything much different). After that parliament will opt for a referendum and the choice will be leave or remain because neither Leave supporting MPs nor Remain want the deal on there accept to gerrymander the result to their advantage. It won't happen.

Oh, there's definitely other options, you just can't see them because you're in denial.

Next it'll be grief, and then anger, following the death of a hard Brexit this evening.

Happy to see you're starting to accept the fact we'll be getting another vote though.

Although, I'm sure you'll find a way to blame the EU and the liberal elite for forcing "the people" (like good old Bojo and JRM) to have another go because they got the wrong answer the first time. It'll be nothing to do with the fact you never had a f*cling plan to start with of course.

I look forward to the entertainment as your misgudied, isolationist, wank fantasy continues to unravel.

Says the Brexit supporting contingent who tend to be less educated and refuse to accept any evidence that points against their fantasy of returning to a past that never existed.

Ever heard the word irony.

If there's going to be a new referendum on Brexit then I demand that the same logic be applied to any future general election where the winning party either has to cobble together a coalition government or wins with anything less than a 60/40 majority.

Or simply if Labour wins. Because hey, who the hell wants Old Man Corbyn as PM?

Referendums in the United Kingdom are very occasionally held at a national, regional or local level. National referendums can be permitted by an Act of Parliament and regulated through the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000, but they are by tradition extremely rare due to the principle of parliamentary sovereigntymeaning that they cannot be constitutionally binding on either the Government or Parliament, although they usually have a persuasive political effect.

Interesting that word Sovereignty appears
