I'll go first and say Labour. I wouldn't vote Tory even if you held a missile launcher to my face.

Ill be honest, i have voted UKIP, always since i could vote, last vote was for tory as labour would wreck the country so i ended up voting them to keep labour out.

Sadly UKip is the only party who look after the british, and would be great for the country, bringing back great Britain to its former glory.

i will await all the hate messages coming and thread replys. Thanks and good luck. Bye

So even if in the future you believe the conservatives values suit you and your family better than Labour ones you would still vote Labour because that's what you do. Then you should have your vote taken away, as, should anybody else who votes without actually knowing what they are voting for other than class, family tradition or some other idiotic reason. You should vote at each election for the party you believe will do the best for you, yours the country and the world. Voting one way or another because you're indoctrinated is sad and pathetic. "

I am disillusioned with each and every one of our political parties at the moment

If there was a snap general election, as much as it pains me to say it, I'd probably vote for the Conservatives, not because I agree with them or their values, but because there is no realistic alternative at this moment in time

The net result is we either stick with it, pull together and try to make it work or we descend into a potential revolutionary state

I believe Brexit will be detrimental to us, whatever form it takes and whoever is in power

The damage is largely done

I don't believe JC would be a credible Prime Minister, despite the fact I share many of his socialist values

UKIP aren't credible

Neither are the Lib Dems

Neither are The Greens

I don't intend getting into a discussion with anyone about my comments

The OP asked who we would vote for and I have answered that and provided my reasoning at this time

This is me. I held my nose and voted conservative at the last election because Labour are horrendous and lib dems have no chance in our area. Nor did I like the lib dem candidate. But the conservatives aren't conservative, May is an absolute idiot and I really hope Rees-Mogg takes over from her. If we must have a looney left then can we at least have a conservative right.

Neither of us have any political allegiances...we'll both vote for who we think will be the best for the country, which isn't always what's best for us personally.

Since the early 80's I have voted for every major party; some votes I've felt easy with, some not so.

At the moment it does seem like voting for 'the best of the worst' though.

It’s party of the far rights agenda to normalise their politics by attempting to shift everything to the right and labelling anything different as “hard left”.

By nature I would be a Conservative voter and I did vote for them in the Thatcher and Major times. But I did also vote Labour when I felt that Tony Blair would deliver a change. I have felt unable to vote in the last two elections as there is nothing out there that reflects the way I feel.

Oh.... and locally I often vote for the Lib Dem’s as they are the only party that makes an effort. Labour don’t care because they will always get in in these parts and the Conservatives don’t care because they know that they will never get in.

I think that the "vote" is a "right" and that it is a "duty" to vote and whilst I understand your predicament you should vote! I would like to see voting become compulsory as in Belgium, however if you chose not to vote, then you should lose your vote. The only way you can get it back is to attend and pass a course on constitutional affairs - similar to driver awareness course. Use it or lose it!

My point was "A" political regardless of how you voted! It's not that long ago that women were dying for a right to vote! The "common " man has not had the vote that much longer than women - they fought for the right! Therefore, if the 7m people who didn't vote in the referendum had voted - and that produced a result of say 60-40% to whatever "side" a clear majority we may not have had the division we have now!

I’m not sure, part of the despair felt at leave winning is knowing how many people have swung to the far right in this country. It’s a truly scary thought.

We were the laughing stock of the world, things move on quickly thankfully.

The sharp rise in race related crime.

These things would be exacerbated if leave won by day 60%.

What worries me about mandatory voting is that people will blindly vote without reading up or thinking about using their vote wisely

A better system would be answering 10 simple questions about the subject in which you’re voting. Get one wrong and you’re not allowed to vote. Britain would be a better place if we’d have done this two years ago.

I can't see you selling this to kippers ,they won't be in favour of this it'll require their voters to learn to read ...

These things would be exacerbated if leave won by day 60%."

Have to disagree I think whilst we didn't like the result it would have been a clear majority. As Farage said before the result - If it's 52/48 it's not over. When we joined its was 65/35 so no arguing but now it's so close and absolute hatred of the other side has been expressed by both sides (extremists ).

As far as right wing is concerned I agree 100% - but history will repeat itself and a good old war will sort it out as it did in the 1930's!

I am not talking about a civil war - I am talking about the possibility of WW3. Trump is following Hitler's ideology and probably a China U.S. conflict could happen. There have already been some near misses. Read the history about how it all started in the 1930's - it's alarming close to now! Remember NATO rule 5 - Trump will drag us into conflict. The only time rule 5 has been used was 9/11 when US were attacked and all the alliance went to war in Afghanistan. It will happen again as trump picks fights all over the world!

Wanting to leave the EU is not far right. It's just wanting to leave the EU. Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonald are BREXITers as was Peter Shaw, Michael Foot and Tony Ben. You can call them many things but far right is not one of them.

Who was pro environmental protection in the 1940's? Were human rights as they are now? Workers rights?

The Nazi blueprint for the future of Europe after the second world war, and how it would be organised, is very similar to the organisation of the EU now....start by looking up Walther Funk and the European Economic Community plan. You might get an education.....

Why don’t we demand this off our MPs?

I’m in favour of reduced use of politicians, but see the HoL as being a good checks and balances to popularist and ill thought our laws which can come from a desire to be relected.

Ha, some people still clinging to the Tony Blair's a war criminal nonsense

Voting wise I'd say my personal circumstances would make me a Tory voter I guess.

I'd never vote Labour , they brought Islamic terrorism to the UK.

When the Conservatives really need a kick up the arse I look to fringe extreme parties to give my vote to, the media make a song & dance over the BNP gaining votes far more than say The Greens.

If there's no "shock" parties to vote for and I can't bring myself to vote Tory I'll still go vote but spoil my card.

The BNP are finished, Griffin saw to that with his cringeworthy show on Question Time. All those leftist idiots who tried to stop him appearing, when it was the best thing that could have happened for them.

Refusing to give a platform just makes things worse. The BNP got years of success because of it...

"I personally think that there should be an age limit on politicians - they have to retire at 65 for example and make way for younger people! Fed up of dinosaurs and their way of thinking! I agree 100% 65 is old enough

Absolutely agree with you we need to get rid of everyone over 65 in parliament they are disconnected from reality and should be put out to pasture .The House of Lords should be filled with people from all walks not rich lords and ladies and retired politicians .Fill it with nurses and doctors and plumbers and ex soldiers .We the people should vote them in."

So my concept for descummifying politics is to pay them as much as a skilled worker gets, 28 to 35k ? Make being a politician a vocation not a career.

Serve the people for 8 years then you're out.

It's the electorate that's the problem. Voting shouldn't be a birth right.

Politicians at one time weren't paid. It was a privilege to serve

Isn't it circumvented by progress of a person from a junior poloitician being judged by his/her peers over the years, resulting in being eventually dropped or elected as a leader?

Trump being a classic example of Socrates's explication

I think that the "vote" is a "right" and that it is a "duty" to vote and whilst I understand your predicament you should vote! I would like to see voting become compulsory as in Belgium, however if you chose not to vote, then you should lose your vote. The only way you can get it back is to attend and pass a course on constitutional affairs - similar to driver awareness course. Use it or lose it!

Have to disagree I think whilst we didn't like the result it would have been a clear majority. As Farage said before the result - If it's 52/48 it's not over. When we joined its was 65/35 so no arguing but now it's so close and absolute hatred of the other side has been expressed by both sides (extremists ).

As far as right wing is concerned I agree 100% - but history will repeat itself and a good old war will sort it out as it did in the 1930's!"

We never had a vote to join the Eu/common market ......we were taken into it by Ted Heath .....

I think the current system needs a complete overhaul as sadly for many people there is a complete disconnect with Politics and it has no real meaning or relevance in their lives.

The disconnect to the lives of real people is so stark when it comes to pay. Hard working people in the country have 10 years of pay cuts, but Politicians award themselves pay rises. Never mind the other perks including gold plated pensions etc and the ability to drink alcohol at work! Rises in pay above the mean average for the general population should require a public vote!

Even where there is interest the current system of voting means that in many areas of the country your vote is wasted unless you vote with the sheep who will always vote for one party no matter what they do as it is traditional.

The act of voting itself is archaic. I have to go to a building and make a mark on a bit of paper in a day and age when the world is electronic. The most modern element is a postal vote that includes several envelopes!

The whole system is ripe for change at all levels, it may be traditional but it doesn't mean it isn't incredibly stupid.

Trump is certainly a demagogue but so was the alternative at the last US election.

Unfortunately if we did take the whole voting fiasco and put it online, every loser would attempt to blame hackers for their defeat.

As things stand they can stick to the “who counts the votes” theory...
