"Tory high command are this very minute rushing around in a panic trying to find out what an 'app' is." Best response I saw was: "If anyone wants it, Jacob Rees-Mogg's mobile number is DCCV MMLCXII CMDXXIV" lol -Matt

"What a stupid thread" You're welcome. Sorry, I'll run them past you next time before I start a new one. In the meanwhile I'll remove the gun I have to your head causing you to read and comment on this one. -Matt

"The common refrain from brexiteers... "Don't worry about borders... we have technology!" yeah... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-45693143 Oops. You really couldn't trust this government to organise a piss up in a brewery. Yes, mistakes are made, yes, they did outsource it to an Australian company (wtf?!) yes, the privacy policy is Australian (oh, goody). But this is a staggering level of incompetence. Just to spell it out... anyone could log in to any attendee of the conference's account just by putting in their email address. Nothing else. And then access all the details they put in when they registered for the conference, like their phone number. and yes, the ICO is aware and will be investigating the data breach. #strongandstable -Matt Luckily most people do trust the current government. They are in power because no other party can come close to touching their success . Have any of the attendees to the conference complained? And you would need to know the relevant email account to access the details in the first place. " Yes. Several of them have complained. And yes the ICO have made a public statement saying they will be make enquiries and reminding them of their duties: “We are aware of an incident involving a Conservative Party conference app and we will be making enquiries with the Conservative Party. “Organisations have a legal duty to keep personal data safe and secure. Under the GDPR they must notify the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of a personal data breach, if it could pose a risk to people’s rights and freedoms.” And yes, you are right, you would need to know the MP's email address. Their email address. The MP. The member of parliament. Those public people that you are meant to contact to bring issues to their attention. Their email address. No, no, you are right, that would be just too difficult. And the reason why Boris Johnson's title was changed to "dickhead" was of his own accord. -Matt
