Unfortunately trying to draw more tax from corporations paying lower tax elsewhere may require withdrawal from reciprocal tax arrangements which prevent double jeopardy.

The problem with that is that those who pay larger tax bills here such as BP or Royal Dutch Shell may choose to pay their tax at the hubs where the profits are created....which will not be the UK.

Corbyn will use the same money tree the conservatives used to pay off the DUP extremists.

If a billion can be used to prop up a failing prime minister .I would rather a billion was spent on the NHS than given extremists to pay for votes.

I watched a fascinating documentary this week about the assassination of Count Folke Bernadotte, the UN mediator in the 1948 Arab-Israeli conflict.

I had not realised how many British soldiers were murdered by Israeli extremists who later went on to hold the highest offices in the Israeli government - and who openly sought to justify terrorism as a means to a just end.

Not according to Labours brexit policy he wants to keep the common market trade policy and customs market so these big conglomerates can still pat 3% in Lichtenstein and Eire.

in the last round of general election manifesto's they had their costed by the IFS as fiscally neutral....

the conservatives would not submit to having theirs costed..... which probably lead to all the comments about them shaking to old money tree....

Thats not true though there was a huge financial black hole and no explanation how services were going to be paid for.

There was some implication by the labour party that big multinationals would be maid to pay UK taxes rather than abroad but the latest statement by labour that they would seek a brexit deal witch stuck with the EU common market rules wouldn't allow this.

At the last GC Labour said during campaigning that everything was costed before it was made public and put in the manifesto. They were grilled about it on Politics on Sunday, Daily Politics and other political programs with John McDonnell explaining how the funding would be raised for any specific policy queried by the presenters/journalists.

Labour didn't shy away from the question before, I don't think they would shy away from it today.

The political commentators know if they ask specific questions, they will get specific answers. They are just being lazy and not asking questions,misleading the public by generalising.

The thing I admire about Jezza is his doggedness - he might be a bit dull and humourless at times but he doesn’t take the bait thrown at him and he’s definitely not one of the my best mates are in the city brigade like certain previous leaders of Labour were...Tony! The trouble we are in today is that the wealth in our country is mostly acquired by the super rich selling us cut price things over the internet that we don’t need (Amazon) not paying a fair share of local taxes and making life impossible for shop owners who are forced to pay local rates due to decentralisation, which central government uses as a way of abdicating responsibility for failing under-funded services. This combined with a reliance on arcane and borderline illegal city trading schemes to create the illusion of real wealth means that as a country we are in hock up to our eyeballs and all our tangible assets (utilities, railways, etc) are owned by foreign companies. So basically we are fucked and the only person recognising it is our saviour JC

they all reach out to the elderly tho because of the size of there votes they need to come out and say they are going to means test the tv license the free buss pass the winter fuel payment and use the money for social care and the elderly who realy need it
