has anyone got any doubts about the narrative the government is expounding. Something about it doesn't feel right to me

I treat most things I hear or read about in the news with a level of scepticism to be honest. I don’t necessarily always believe it’s our Government that might *always* be the baddies though! On this case, I genuinely don’t know!

I also found it pretty strange the Russians would use such an incriminating method to kill someone in foreign soil. Unless they’re trying to send a message to other spies to keep their mouth shut...

Something isn't right that's for sure, if Vlad sent two of his top guys over to bump them off why would they stay in a budget hotel in east London and why would they discard the leftover substance in a public bin ?? They would have been a lot more pro than that, something stinks about the whole affair.

You think they all stay at the Savoy?

Best way to hide evidence, dump it in a public bin.

Bin gets empied and taken to a dump where it literally becomes looking for a needle in a hay stack.

I think some people watch too much telly.

It’s equally difficult to believe that the UK government fabricated the poisoning of two Russian emigrés, the death of one UK citizen and the poisoning of two others. Not mentioning the millions spent on the investigation. All to discredit the Russian president and create a diplomatic row....

Much easier ways to go about that.

We are never going to know all facts as the police and intelligence services are not exactly going to publish to ‘joe public’ all their findings and sources..

I do take a sceptical view on the stories fed by our less than competent politicians of all parties...

I certainly don’t subscribe to the view that because we are not given all the information a conspiracy is afoot.

It is far to easy for conspiracy fantasists to make 2+2 = 27.

Most governments are probably too incompetent run a conspiracy.....

This is a corrupt public official, who took bribes from the British taxpayer in return for selling his country's secrets, and who was serving a long jail sentence.

If the Russians wanted him eliminated, they had every opportunity to do so.

Which makes me wonder what new mischief this guy was up to that he needed to be eliminated.

Recurring story that he was involved with Spanish intelligence and their work on organised crime.

I doubt there is any sympathy for the guy in Russia.

Reverse the scenario. A British government official sells British secrets in exchange for foreign cash, then gets sprung from jail here and moves to that foreign country where his hosts treat him to a comfortable life. We would see him as an odious creature.

I agree. Better to just stick the telly on and let that tell it like it is. I agree that people who look at evidence are loons. The professionals on the TV have this covered.

(Oh alright I'm not above a tiny bit of sarcasm)

Seriously though I think its a sign of good mental health to question, if there's reason to, like evidence coming to light that doesn't add up to what's we've so far heard. That's how we improve our understanding and get a better idea what happened.

She used the word “conclude” during her announcement.

That is enough, in my opinion, to show they have no idea. But knowing that the uk and russia have no extradition treaty. Meaning those accused will never be prosecuted for any offence.

To me shows they have no idea, and its easier to accusse those who will never face justice.

Its actions like May’s that have led to the start of wars.

Found a good poem(!) on the issue, but its very long, and can't post links?

I haven't had a proper look at the photoshopped pic, but I have seen the one with people in hazmat suits and everything, but ordinary civilians walking past about 15 feet away lol.

I feel sick when I hear about what used to happen on witch hunts, when all someone had to do was point at a random woman and shout "she's a witch!!!" resulting in a baying mob of crazed animals.

This mentality exists the same today, but instead of witches, its the Russians, Colonel Gaddafi etc and we bay for blood because we are told so by our TV. We are told they did it and if were honest we just accept it without much evidence, or even properly establishing what has happened.

We can all be fooled, especially when we set out to be well meaning, but I am seeing we fall for the same shit over and over and over again, as in 2003.

A couple of excerpts from that poem. I haven't looked into this but see the signs of another false flag:

"Then someone observed something really quite odd –

that the door didn’t seem to have bothered the plod

who was tasked with the duty of guarding the place,

long before it was clear that a poison was traced."...

"...The West didn’t wait, we accepted the claim

that the evil Assad was entirely to blame.

He was guilty of war crimes, as evidence proved –

for the good of the people, he must be removed!

Notwithstanding the signs that the Syrians may seem

broadly in favour of Mr. A’s ‘regime’

and the fact that with Russia they had some protection

from outside attacks, or their own insurrection.

Our Washington friends would insist that they need some

of Uncle Sam’s good ol’ American freedom

which had been so successful, I’m frequently told,

where nations had hardships, and oil, gas, and gold.

The narrative blaming Assad for the crimes

was reported as fact in The Sun and The Times

and most western leaders were keen to appease the

hawkish intentions of Boris and Theresa.

But a doubt did remain that the entire event

might have been a ‘false flag’, with malicious intent..."

I heard on the radio that the Russians were highly suspicious this has been carried out by British Intelligence.

I haven't done my homework on this, but to be honest, early on I'm inclined to believe their version more.

I have to agree with you on this point. However I take my hat off to the "audit trail" the police have put together - it's taken a long time but the two Russians have been pinpointed on cctv all over the place. And if they happened to have been walking past the house, as it was the obvious route choice, knocked on the door for guidance etc, it would be understandable and one of those seemingly unlikely coincidences, the occupant formerly from Russia.

It's fairly ridiculous that this claptrap is being delivered isn't it! Rather than going to Salisbury train station for information for the second trip, they could have got it in London and then stayed overnight for a longer trip or just gone once. 2 trips is just even more suspicious than one.

What does it tell you about homeland security, the ability to detect chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons coming into the UK? Whatever airport it came through, it tells you we are defenceless against CBRN. But the good news is there is a hospital in every area that is geared up for their detonation.

What it tells you is that someone can waltz into this country with chemicals. And once in, they can choose door handles on a tube train rather than a door handle in a housing estate. Sends out quite a message to the world. About us. And about them.

That is the easy answer that avoids a difficult question.

We'll probably never know how it arrived here.

I'd want to know just how effective our CBRN detection capability is.

But I suspect any probing would get brushed aside on the grounds of information prejudicial to national security.

"There alibi on Russian telly is pathetic a real admission of guilt

I don't think they are worried in the slightest - there will never be a trial.

It's a comedy sketch.

What do you think of the UK state eliminating British citizens who are deemed a threat to national security?

•Coughs

David Kelly. "

It was suicide! Ask the Israelis!

Ha ha if Mossad was guilty of half the things they get blamed for I'd want them to be our secret service .

"But is Salisbury that fantastic that you have to go there two days on the trot....

One day for the cathedral and one day out to Stonehenge

I would guess the toxin came in a diplomatic bag

What does it tell you about homeland security, the ability to detect chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons coming into the UK? Whatever airport it came through, it tells you we are defenceless against CBRN. But the good news is there is a hospital in every area that is geared up for their detonation."

Home Office Project Cyclamen.....it's on the net (so look it up) and very actively enforced....just ask those who pass through ports who have just had medical scans, or importers of higher ionising radiating level goods from tiles and cement through to medical isotopes. Plently of delays when alarms are raised.

In ignorance, don't confuse small bottles of nerve agent possibly smuggled in diplomatic bags with items which produce ionizing radiation.

Seriously speaking, people should check their facts before spreading (shuddering to use a Trump phrase...) Fake News or subscribing to (shuddering to use a Brexit analogy)...Project Fear.

Hmmmmmm. People are convinced "we'll never know the full story."

Are you president Putin?

Are you one of the accused?

Are you one of the victims?

Are you a credible witness?

Are you a member of the police investigating the incident?

Are you the home Secretary?

Are you the head of either of our security services?

Are you an investigative journalis?

No?

Do you ocassionaly get your tits or cock out on Fab?

Yes.

Then you'll probably never know the full story.....

I think at least 50% of the people you have listed above will never know either.
