"How many times has he failed to get elected to the Commons now?"

How many times has he succeeded in his aims:

Save the £. Keep us out of the Euro - Succeeded

Get us out of the EU - Succeeded.

UKIP only had 2 policies. 2 aims. Both achieved.

The most successful political party ever.

"7 x"

And on the 7th attempt the Tory candidate who beat Farage in the seat of South Thanet by the name of Craig Mackinlay was charged with breaking electoral rules/law. His case is still awaiting trial at court.

He also lead ukip to victory in the 2014 European MEP elections in the UK, returning more ukip MEP's than any other party. This was the first time in living memory a party other than Labour or Conservative had won a major election in the UK.

That's the wonder of being a pressure group party. You don't have to deal with the impliment and reform side of law and policy.

I think farage has not been elected as an MP as he's actually weak at local issues - well he never talks about them and therefore we have to infer he has no passion for it.

Furthermore I think mps should only be able to serve and constituency after one election cycle of residence in it. You want someone to know the area.

But how does that work, when your constituency is 20 miles from one end to the other and is totally different from one end to the other? How can the MP live in all of it, or know about all of it?

Yep, how has keeping £ out of the € worked out so far?

The £ has lost approximately a third of its value. So so far if Farage had failed we would all be around 50% better off.

And now according to all informed opinion we are looking at Farage having done the same to the economy as he has done to the currency.

Fantastic record that! But don't worry JRM tells us in 50 years time we will be doing OK (of course his is protecting his business by setting up a second arm in the RoI so he won't lose out) and Farage has already said he is fucking off to the USA if brexit turns out to be a fuck up.

As Peterborough voted to leave the EU by 60.8% on a 72.4% turnout I think your constituency would be much better represented in The House of Commons in terms of Brexit by Farage as your MP rather than the Labour candidate who just got kicked out.

The fact is that we got an opt out from the Euro via the Maastricht Treaty in 1992. The signing of that treaty was what led the odious Farage to abandon the Tory Party. UKIP didnt even exist til 1993. Kippers love to rewrite history.....so you're absolutely right: Farage had damn all to do with us not joining the Euro.

Peterborough - the town with the mass immigration problem where politicians of all political parties once got together, to write a joint letter, asking how the teachers in a primary school, in Peterborough, that has a class of 28 children, with 26 different languages being spoken, were supposed to teach them.

Why wouldn't they want someone like Nigel Farage with problems like that?

Thing is whilst I agree with you that the tories and others have played fast and loose within what is a poor system, you are stretching it in suggesting that it's down to similar issues in the other 6 times he failed..

And using the they cheated against ukip is gross hypocrisy given their antics in the European Parliament, just how much did they have to pay back after breaking the rules there BTW?

In English simples!

If someone moves to another country you have to expect to speak that language. If you can't then you pay for lessons until you have a decent command of the language. If the UK is stupid enough to facilitate 26 languages it's the states fault!

Here in France everything is French - school, medical, government etc. Why would you incur expense? Parent/individual responsibility is the word!

"How did Farage contribute to them? And how is any of it racist?"

I would suggest that Farage contributed to Brexit, which is a much more serious problem for the uk to be dealing with.

The rise in race hate crime, rise of the far right, increasing austerity measures that are coming, problems funding and staffing the NHS. The list could go on and on and on. And all these are bigger problems than some kids in a class speaking other languages.

And why is it racist. Highlighting the classroom language issue in itself isn’t racist, but as has been pointed out, it’s being used by the far right to justify their promotion of institutional racism.

Why are you obsessing over a single classroom. This is an extemely minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

I don’t see the point in trying to explain further. You don’t seem to understand. And if you can’t see how Farage contributed to Brexit and all the other major problems dragging this country down the toilet then I honestly don’t know what would help you.

According to some people, you have to be white and right wing to be racist. The reality is somewhat different. As an old Gambian mate of mine once said. Everybody is racist to differing extents, absolutely nobody believes that we are all the same. The same applies imo to hatred and self loathing, the pc brigade are much better at those two than those on the political right.

The classroom is indicative of the problems of Peterborough. The place where Farage is allegedly standing as a candidate, and the original discussion is whether he might be elected there.

He is standing there, because there are issues that cause him to have voter appeal.

For sure, again these are extremely unimportant issues in the grand scheme. And for sure people will be whipped up into believing immigrants are to blame for their problems. And will vote for him. Hopefully not many.

It's not racist people are frustrated with a useless government that put themselves first go on holidays whilst we are in crisis constant in fighting of parties and nothing getting done people have lost faith in the whole system. This is not garages fault. Yes he called for us to leave the EU but it was Cameron who called for the referendum and left us in this mess. If an thing this is his fault it is not as easy as a yes no answer.

"How did Farage contribute to them? And how is any of it racist?

I would suggest that Farage contributed to Brexit, which is a much more serious problem for the uk to be dealing with.

Cameron isn't horrendous. He's great.

He was the mess and he left us. And he's about to publish a book, blaming everyone but himself, and especially blaming Gove.

I think Clinton got there 1st and that book is now in the bargain bin. They start at 1p, used, on Amazon!

Maybe Cameron should take note!

I don’t blame him, but he definitely contributed. Really the whole system is set up to keep the have-nots fighting amongst ourselves and voting against our own interests. While the elite top 1% get a tighter grip on power and get richer.

"Peterborough - the town with the mass immigration problem where politicians of all political parties once got together, to write a joint letter, asking how the teachers in a primary school, in Peterborough, that has a class of 28 children, with 26 different languages being spoken, were supposed to teach them.

Why wouldn't they want someone like Nigel Farage with problems like that? "

It's nothing to do with the Elite! Farage gave power to the people and the people did the absolute opposite of what the Elite wanted, and it destabilised the Elite completely.

Cameron, Obsborne, Gove, Johnson, and the other Elite were all exiled and the Labour Party was taken over by the Communists.

Point proven I think! That you believe this nonsense you spout (I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you mean what you say and you’re not trolling for the sake of it). 100% victory for the rich and powerful, they can rest assured that people like you fall right into their traps. Worrying about kids in a classroom, blaming immigrants etc. Meanwhile people voted Brexit so that they can remove the EU which protects workers, protects the environment etc. So they can be even more ruthless of their exploitation of the working class, and actually everyone whose not one of them!

Farage is a willing or unwilling puppet for these people. He’s either a moron or a horrendous human.

Maybe read this from The Guardian from 2016, and see what is said about the effects of immigration in Peterborough.

That is why Farage is standing there.

"The classroom is indicative of the problems of Peterborough. The place where Farage is allegedly standing as a candidate, and the original discussion is whether he might be elected there.

He is standing there, because there are issues that cause him to have voter appeal. "

You call it a problem. It’s a different set of circumstances sure. And ones which needed to be looked at a different way. But I’m not sure you’ve provided any evidence it’s a problem. Like i said my quick google suggested the school which I think was in question is now doing well and being held up as a good thing.

I tend to see JRM, BoJo et al as being more elite than Cameron and boy George. Like many areas, brexit split classes into two. If it was rally anti elite labour would have been clearly on the side of leave, rather than split (or remain as you contend)

To be fair Gladstone st is a faith school and the discovery is an excellent school. The school system went down hill when they turned them in to academies they are too big and run as businesses than schools and pupils are just numbers and targets x

Why can't you just address the issues? You'd be happy to send your children to a school rated Inadequate, where not one of the pupils speaks English as a 1st language?

You cannot see that there might be some link there?

You cannot see that the parents of children who do speak English might have a point?

You cannot see that it might be understandable for them to be concerned about uncontrolled migration?

You believe that what happened in Germany with migration was positive? You'd be happy for your daughter to be sexually assaulted at NYE celebrations?

You cannot see that Brexit is more than just immigration? That it's also about the EU and EU diktats and payments to the EU?

Dont feed the trolls.

Back to the guardian article. It’s point seemed to be many people FEEL immigration is a big problem even if the evidence was less compelling. I’m curious why you cited this article.

It’s also not a great quality of source to prove a point

"The classroom is indicative of the problems of Peterborough. The place where Farage is allegedly standing as a candidate, and the original discussion is whether he might be elected there.

He is standing there, because there are issues that cause him to have voter appeal.

You call it a problem. It’s a different set of circumstances sure. And ones which needed to be looked at a different way. But I’m not sure you’ve provided any evidence it’s a problem. Like i said my quick google suggested the school which I think was in question is now doing well and being held up as a good thing.

Who has time for a “quick google” when you can just blame immigrants!

Maybe because the immigrants are to blame? Read The Guardian article that I posted.

This says it all, no further comment needed.

People with this kind of attitude are why this country is getting a worse and worse place to live.

I would happily export all the UKIP voters to make room for refugees. At least some of them might actually be nice people! "

And with this kind of attitude why do you still continue to live here? Why not move away to another country if that's really how you feel?

As I have already told you and look back. I posted much earlier about the Man on the Clapham Omnibus, and you have been failing to understand that point all afternoon.

In Sydney, they call it the Man on the Bondi Tram

And in America, the man who takes the magazines home, and in the evening pushes the lawnmower in his shirt sleeves

what about the women?

Lots of women voted for ukip. Lots of women also voted for Brexit.

Do you think only men voted for ukip and Brexit?

Once again, I refer to the Man on the Clapham Omnibus.

Because the evidence IS compelling. The point is that The Guardian did not dare say that in the way that other more right-wing papers might have done so.

Well the point is, it doesn't matter where the bus is going, or whether you are on it, or walking down the street, and let me save you from any further embarrassment:

CRUCIALLY, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SEX YOU ARE.

The Man On The Clapham Omnibus is the mythical reasonable, average, PERSON.

And the point that I was making, that you failed entirely to grasp is this:

When I said that Farage appealed to the ordinary man on the street and you asked what about women:

(a) You failed to realise that such a phrase refers to the Clapham Omnibus point; and

(b) When I clarified for you that I was making the Clapham Omnibus point, you still failed to understand it.

"How many times has he failed to get elected to the Commons now?

Or maybe a more accurate question should be how many times was he cheated out of winning by other candidates breaking electoral law?

And it still didn't matter, because he still achieved what he set out to achieve, without even being an MP, and I think he enjoyed being an MEP more."

Have you seen how much the mep get paid how much tax they pay on that and the allowance they get also.

Now you can seen why they don’t want to leave Europe.

Nigel does and he knows he will loose all that and happy to.

It's far from failing. It's one of the most successful countries in Europe.

And you're just making an excuse, just like all the celebs who were going to leave if Brexit happened, or Trump was elected, but never did.

It you want to try failing countries, try Greece, or maybe Venezuela, or Argentina.

Your whole arguement is invalid lad, Farage was popular during the brexit run up campaign because stupid people believed he could halt immigration.

He's more likely HUGELY contributed to the economic downturn we will face due to the loss of free trade.

Success either way for him leads no where,

He won't ever be a distinguished peer,

He won't ever become PM, Even if the uk broke out into a racewar...

You keep saying Brexit would not and will not lead to a drop in EU immigration numbers in the UK. You've said it now on 2 different posts on this thread.

You're wrong, as immigration numbers from the EU to the UK has already dropped since the vote to leave in 2016. Try looking at figures from the Office for National statistics (ONS) or Government Home office figures on immigration from the EU, there has clearly been a drop in EU immigration since we voted to leave in 2016.

The day after the referendum, a leading leave campaigner, Daniel Hannan says we will stay in the single market, and still have freedom of movement. Your response what that no one knows what will happen, we will have to wait and see. If that does happen, then we won't be in control of our own laws and borders, if you think that's what you voted for, and a leave campaigner is telling you that's not what you voted for, you didn't know what you were voting for.

Here is Daniel Hannan saying after the referendum, that we will stay in the single market, and keep free movement of labour. Is he wrong?

https://youtu.be/qJlirUiAg-s

No one knows what will hapen until 29th March 2019 x

So people didn't know what they were voting for then "

And as i said...the brexit vote was influenced by the belief of stupid racists.

I'm pro-immigration...We get highly skilled individuals from across the world that help everyone, So why would we wish to stop it?

racists blame immigration as the reason they have a shit life...instead of realizing if they were educated, skilled in whichever profession and had a drive to succeed instead of adopting the universal blame everyone else approach.

If immigration has dropped since 2016 thats most likely dur to racial aggrevated fear from The uk.

Just going to say our pound value is extremely low due to brexit..

We don't know whats happening with free trade.

Until something happens its all Gossip and spin tales to suit whomever is being interviewed.

Im my opinion, No people did not know why they were voting to leave apart from the xenophobia that seemed to be important at the time, now our economy is taking a hit, People are now realizing the fruit of their actions.

"Have you managed to obtain any life experience?

i've been to clapham, but in a taxi not on a bus or walking

"

so if, as you are saying, 10% of people are ordinary or average then the 90% of people that nigel flange didn't speak to who or who he failed miserably to relate to in the 2015 general election and voted for other parties must be extraordinary. wow ... who knew that there are so many above average people?

"How many times has he failed to get elected to the Commons now?

Or maybe a more accurate question should be how many times was he cheated out of winning by other candidates breaking electoral law?

And it still didn't matter, because he still achieved what he set out to achieve, without even being an MP, and I think he enjoyed being an MEP more.

Have you seen how much the mep get paid how much tax they pay on that and the allowance they get also.

Now you can seen why they don’t want to leave Europe.

Nigel does and he knows he will loose all that and happy to.

But Nigel Farage is domiciled in the UK, and he will pay UK tax on those earnings, so your tax point is invalid.

He's just much of a pussy, He prefers appeasing larger nations and attempted bullyong of less developed nations.

Ironic considering his wifes an immigrant...

They voted to be in or out and to be in control of our own laws and borders etc and not to have to answer to Brussels they are not stupid and they new exactly what they wanted. And all we need is straight answers that we are not getting x"

What would it take for leavers to admit that any form of Brexit is bad for this country in every level?

It reminds me of those Americans who lived On Isle De Jean Charles that was swallowed up by the ocean who still deny climate change even though their homes are six feet under water!

The day after the referendum, a leading leave campaigner, Daniel Hannan says we will stay in the single market, and still have freedom of movement. Your response what that no one knows what will happen, we will have to wait and see. If that does happen, then we won't be in control of our own laws and borders, if you think that's what you voted for, and a leave campaigner is telling you that's not what you voted for, you didn't know what you were voting for."

Exactly the whole thing is a huge mess and that's down to Cameron and may x

Fact is history will not judge Farage favourably. I expect he and the pig fucker will be seen as the 2 who caused the dissolution of the UK.

which side will he be on in the war that the leavers have said they intend to start against the remainers? or will he be with the 27/28% pulling up chairs, reaching for popcorn and watching?
