Trump FARTA

Not sure if it is a wind up but I have now seen this in more than one place.

Seems like the Trump is going to withdraw completely from the WTO and create Fair And Reciprocating Trade Agreements (FARTA) with individual countries and entities.

The purpose is to allow the US to act as fairly, unfairly, justly or unjustly as it feels, whenever it feels like in order to reward friends and punish those who won’t play ball.

basically what he want is more power over trade rules and policy that he can't do via Executive Order.... but he will have to get it thru congress...

bearing in mind the republicans are suppose to be the party of business and small regulation they would have to basically do a 180.....

"Maybe it could be a better way do not really know as the present globalisation is not working that is certain"

It'd be a case of the strong will do what they must and the weak will suffer what they will.

There are not many countries who could economically hit back at the US - so what you would probably see if more trade blocks being created to protect against American and Chinese economic preferences + punishments.

Basically this can be seen as Trump saying "Gimme what I want else you go on the economic hit list." No ta, worse than the EU.

Trump is correct. The WTO is unfair. It classes China as a "developing nation" and so it gets concessions that other nations, particularly the USA are denied.

Everyone knows that in reality China is an economic powerhouse, and it simply exploits the stupidity of the WTO to undercut other countries and floods the world with its cheap goods.

I mean there's a reason Trump had to turn to foreign investors in fund his ventures, everyone else knew him well enough to know better.

But if you've bought into the lies about Trumps business acumen, you've already demonstrated you've no idea about "business", but you do love the idea of a puffed up strongman taking charge.

Well, Trump won't actually release his tax returns, so we only have the word of a pathological liar as to how rich he is.

But I'd look to his stubby hate boner for actual rich people like Jeff Bezos (who is not a good person either, lest you get some ideas, but at least he can lay genuine claim to being good at business and also is actually wealthy) as a good indication of his actual success and wealth.

An actual rich person wouldn't need to commit constant ethics violations to continue to grift while in the Whitehouse.

Ohh, and let's not forget how he bankrupted a casino. Because that is the crown jewel of his failure.

Well, now here's the thing. A lot of the "Trump" branded properties are just that. He doesn't own them, he just gets money for having his stupid name on the side.

Of course. Having assets you can't liquidate, and a lot of your worth ties up in a brand you're busy tanking by being a racist piece of shit, kinda ruins that.

If he was as rich as he says, he could just prove it, by releasing his tax returns.

China is still a developing Nation compared to the USA, it development is unevenly distributed between the wealthy urbanised middle and upperclass and the rest. and it doesn't grant the individual and society the freedoms we enjoy.

It's also a economic power house.

I imagine if it had to reassign wealth to develop more evenly it would be less of a powerhouse, so maybe it's a economic and geopolitical strategy? As such maybe co-operative sanctions need to be put in place.

But lets be blunt, direct punishment from other nations changes little.

Gotcha.

The bitter, jealous, ignorant left wing arse is you.

You just cannot accept that Trump is successful, famous, a billionaire, the most powerful man on the planet and President of the most important country in the world.

And you?

You're a nobody with a massive chip on his shoulder.

WTF?!

Just because you get a hard on even at the thought of the over-baked Neanderthal, doesn't mean that everyone else should join in the blowjob too.

And insulting people who don't agree with you is just a pathetic attempt to mimic your (undeserving) idol. Fake news and all that.

I mean, seriously, WTF?!

At the risk of being called a troll, I don’t think being called the manliest of manly men was actually a compliment

I would have called him a lot worse so I'm seriously impressed with Demonjohn's restraint.

I don't care what your views are ben or how much we disagree on certain subjects, you just cannot seriously tell me that you don't see what I see on this instance! Prejudices aside.

So why haven’t you called the demon out?"

Have we read the *same* dialogue?! Is your prejudice against demonjohn making you completely blind to how vitriolic (to say the least) the other person has been? If for a "manliest of men" (or whatever, he blows a gasket like that, wtf is he gonna do if someone (demonjohn or someone/anyone else) speaks to *him* the way he does?! Track them down and shoot them?! Ffs! What have we come to?!

What a discrace. Why would you even judge a guy by his fortune. A guy brought up with a silver spoon in his mouth is not worth any thought that he will save us. Remember he is a descendant of Heinz, a German immigrant who invented ketchup and the other many sauces. He didn't make billions. He inherited it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Internet tough guys who rail against "immigrant scum" are ten a penny, and they wouldn't say boo to a goose in real life.

There's a reason they fetishize people like Trump, he's boorish, proudly ignorant, and speaks the same racially charged language they do, but in public.

He's everything they want to be, hence the defending to the hilt of his poor business career.

It's easy to be a billionaire when born a billionaire.

"And if you don't believe that a man with that much power, wealth, and internationally renowned, successful businesses is successful, then you are deluded."

Define your metrics for business success? Because I don't think renown is a quantifiable metric.

Define power. As power is an abstract concept until you define metrics.

Given that the objective of private business is to make money - success is measured in wealth.

I think its deeper. When people feel weak and threatened, some will listen to the chest beating person who promises to ue their immediate power/influence/wealth to go hard against *x issue* or *x group in society*.

I think its a desire to find someone who has a quick fix solution.

Rather than owing up to your own flaws (maybe you didntvstudy hard in school, or maybe when money was goid you spent it on booze rather than investing in upskilling or fisical investments).

People don't go for the 5-10 year strategy for individual improvement which involves self sacrifice if there is the promise of the lazy option from another.

I mean like anyone who finds themselves left out by the centre left/centre right and as a result drifts to the political extremes of fake populists.
