The politics of blame...

We have all seen in the last two years that Remainers will point, horrified at a bad news story that can be blamed on Brexit. Similarly, Brexiters rejoice at everything that seemingly proves that Brexit will not be an unmitigated disaster and gleefully point out the failures of the project fear projections.

So the other day I was listening to PMQ and as per usual various Conservatives gleefully reminded everyone as to how the country was left in a mess in 2010 and it was all down to Labour. Labour is STILL getting the blame 8 years into Conservative-led Governments.

That got me thinking about how long we are going to be playing the Brexit blame game considering that it is rare that any particular Company or industrial leader (aviation aside) will come out directly and say that they are expanding because of Brexit or they are downsizing/closing because of Brexit.

I think that the Brexit blame game will go on for 20 years - maybe even longer than that.

Bob what do you mean you’ve never met a brexitier with a set of balls I think iv spoke to about 3 ppl about brexit in the pub and I never asked how they voted your not telling me you ask ppl you know how they voted lol you need to moved up here no one talks politics in the pubs it’s a total no no lol

It is really funny but sad I think,but the modern way is to blame somebody or some institution for there problems.

People should realise that ultimately they are responsible for there own lives and this blame somebody else culture is a sickness in society it goes way beyond brexit.

Fail to plan and you plan to fail ,nobody planned a fucking thing ....Brexit will be like a slow cancer eating the UK year on year.Itll be down to remainers like me not getting behind the big red bus,that brings it down no doubt...

Yep.

Brexit was all about people saying what they DIDN'T want.

And when the ring-leaders found themselves on the winning side, they bolted like rabbits in headlights because they had no idea what to do next.

No plan, no vision.

Funnily enough, it took a Remainer to come up with something.

Theresa May and her red lines.

We still seem to be stuck in the groove, however, constantly hearing about what we don't want.

No customs union, no court of justice, no freedom of movement etc.

And so we are left with rhetoric . . . "deep and special", "strong and stable", "brexit means brexit".

Britain is drifting in a sea of ineptitude.

Blame is okay if it’s accurate to do so. Some of the negative things would be happening anyway. And some are a direct result of Brexit. And vice versa.

What’s in no doubt at all is that we will all be poorer, and have a worse country for the rest of our lives. I don’t think anyone is arguing contrary to that. Kids will be learning about Brexit and the effect it has the country in 60-70 years time in history lessons at school.

So I’m that sense, it will still be being discussed for a long long time.

Okay no one with an actual decent argument, Rees Mogg who is set to become even richer and the people who, for some reason, think he has poor people’s best interests at heart. So him and them. And there is the Brexit champion on here who ignores the facts and cherry picks the random 1 in a million news stories that highlight one of the positives. Him too. Haha

I mentioned this before. It was an MP on Daily Politics who said: Because of the lack of planning, both with regards to Brexit but also with addressing the domestic issues that successive governments have failed to address and blamed on the EU instead, the Brexiteers will still be blaming the EU 20-30 years later, when the amazing future they were promising, fails to materialise.

Oh, sorry. I know I shouldn’t laugh. But seriously. Re-read what you just wrote.

If this country hadn’t been whipped up into a hysteria by tabloids to blame all our countries ills on others (foreigners! Eu! The disabled!) then we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place. The reason why so many people voted Leave is because they are unable to look closer to home and have to blame someone else.
