"Fox News really should be on the comedy channel, because it's a joke. Its a bunch of right wing liars that spread as much incomplete, misleading, self serving false news as they think they can get by with, which shouldn't be permissible. Freedom of the press, is a great thing, but freedom to blatantly lie or knowingly distort the facts to suit your own agenda, well, that's corruption by the press, and should not be acceptable in a democracy.. False news and false advertisements on huge social networks that reach hundreds of millions of people cause serious consequences, like ending up with a corrupt, self serving president that praises Fox News. Donald would love the presidency to be a dictatorship, for life ! That would definitely fit his families perception of ultimate power and wealth. Unlike the Clinton’s eh " One Clinton presidency, yet 2 Bush Presidents, so why pick on Clinton?

"I saw another clip today in which a White House spokesperson made reference to the D-Day landings in the same sentence saying how strong the relationship was between the governments of Germany and the USA. America is wall to wall comedy." One of Trump's spokesmen said that there was a "special place in hell" for the Canadian PM.

"Unlike the Clinton’s eh " Explain to me how Trump is like the Clinton's? Bill wanked on an aids dress and denied it for which he was impeached by The House but found not guilty at trial by the Senate. Trump boasted about being able to get away with sexually assaulting women and breaks federal law every single day but the House and Senate are doing everything they can to stop his investigation. He and his staff lie virtually every day and he is constantly in the news worldwide for attacking the USA's friends and allies and helping their enemies. Finally Trump has turned the US Presidency into nothing more than an openly corrupt family money-making enterprise while destroying the USA's credibility on the world stage. Sorry, I fail to see how you can equate Clinton and Trump, but I guess like Trump you see bad people on both sides, just I only see one racist neonazi supporting bigot who needs to spend the rest of his days in the open population of a mainly black federal penitentiary being forced to bend over every night. But then I am biased, and would wish similar on anyone who by their actions made my country more vulnerable.

Whatever it is he's meeting him for, if I was Kim, I wouldn't agree anything with Trump. He's not to be trusted, partly because he acts like a hormonal teenager changing his mind every two minutes and partly because it's all about what *he* can get out of it. Once Kim gives up his nuclear weapons, he's toast. And, I think, he knows it. It'll be very interesting to see who's the better poker player.

"So you would like to see similar for Clinton for supporting the IRA and allowing fund raising in the USA which made your country more vulnerable?" When I was serving in NI it was Carter and Reagan who allowed the provos and INLA to fund-raise and buy arms in the US (that's 1 democrat and 1 republican) and as far as I know it was Clinton who eventually put a stop to US money flowing into NI funding the troubles.

"Wow Kim is like a loonie Bond villain " If you judge Kim by his portrayal in British media, then yes, you are likely to be led to form that view. The recent history of Korea, from its annexation by Japan, the US plan to nuke the north and its positioning of 900 atom bombs in the south, through to the rise and fall of relations between the North and the USSR . . . it's worth a read if you want to know where Kim comes from.

"I think it's more Likley the Chinese have ordered Kim to play Ball with Trump . Tho any Nukes out of Action is Good . I'd be more impressed tho if Trump got Israel to play Ball and the Saudis to start behaving civilised !" I find it very amusing that the same people who were throwing their arms in the air about Trump starting a nuclear war with Korea are now complaining that he is being too engaging with Kim. Lets wait and see what he achieves. It is possible that he has done something amazing that no other president was capable of, but it is early days yet. Regarding ME, need the Palestinians to play ball and renounce terrorism and accept Israel- Israel has always been ready, but is not going to negotiate with people who want to destroy her, anymore than UK was willing to negotiate with IRA while weaponised.

" He lifted the ban on IRA fundraising on 10/3/1995 the GFA was in 1998. Would you put him in the cell next to Trump?" There are about 3 different things to deal with here. Firstly, I would not put Trump in a cell, that is for the American (US) people to do. Second, I do believe that the GFA magically popped into existence in 98 but was the product of years of negotiations, and the relaxing and repealing of laws that effectively made any sort of political contact between the British Government, Nationalists and Unionists impossible (the government can't enter into negotiations with people who the governments own laws make wanted criminals if they openly represent the cause we all know represent). I believe that if you look slightly deeper than the surface you will find that Bill Clinton was progressing the very negotiations that led to the GFA. But hey you have it your way. Finally, my comment was passed about the relative merits of the positions of 2 British institutions. JLR, a publicly traded PLC where the directors have a legal duty to their shareholders to maximise profits withing the law. They have no other duty in law but that. However, every member of Parliament who takes up their seat must swear and oath of allegiance to crown and country and every Minister of the Crown is by dent of their position a Crown Servant with duties to protect the Crown and State before all else. My contention is that JLR have broken no laws but when Ministers of The Crown and Members of Parliament misrepresent fact to the detriment of the Nation then they commit Treason and should be dealt with according to law.

"The bloke can't win ! One minute he's a threat to world peace , next minute he's Hammered for trying Diplomacy ! Yes I do mean Trump !" Spot on! As the saying goes, 'haters always gonna hate'. Some people just hate Trump and will take a contrary opposite view to whatever he says or does, even if it makes them look like hypocrites. As you rightly point out a few weeks ago they were trashing Trump saying he'd start a nuclear war with North Korea, and now he's had face to face peace talks with them (something Obama, Clinton and both the Bush Presidents could never achieve) they are still trashing him for having had the peace talks.

And despite condemnation from all sides (even his wife) he's not budging. Using Europe as an example to justify it. Trump and his sympathisers would prefer that all countries have huge walls built around them and immigration (legal or illegal) was a crime against national security. We would all inbreed and it'd only be US and UK that was allowed to trade with the rest of the world and vice versa. Hail Adolf Trump and whoever his little poodle from the UK is.

Glad I live on an island so I don't have to worry about 10,000 illegal foreign nationals washing up on my beach every month. Ask Italy about that! Where anywhere in the world if a parent commits a crime ,is the child allowed to go to jail with them. And we haven't enforced it before ,where every other country in the world has, well guess what we are now. And where in the world is it a given that I can just uproot and decide " hey I'm going to get a canoe and show up on the shore's of Dover. Hmm,wonder what would happen then? Under the previous administration, the catch and release method. You got caught, given a ticket and a court date, which 80% percent were no show's. Just disappeared into the countryside. We have an average of over 600,000 visa overstayers in our country, plus the 10,000,000+ illegal foreign nationals in our country. And that number has been pushed for the last 20 years.lol. pretty sure it is higher. We have a homeless problem, taking care of our veterans problem ,a serious drug problem and generally a elite mentality from Washington and the rich. "Do as I say not as I do". And Yes God Bless, We helped the World out for the last 80+ years. So give us a friggin break if we decide we to get Our house in order. President Trump was elected for this purpose. Love him hate him, don't care. Way better choice then the lying, cheating, rapist enabler, only record set as secretary of state was being d*unk in every capital of the world ,Clinton. And by the way ask Canada what happened to their,"y'all come on up",your welcome here. Their sending representative to Florida ,Texas and California, trying to convince people to stop crossing their border. Yeah I know probably should have kept my mouth shut. But oh well. Independence for Texas. Yeehaw!!!!" Are you a native American, or were your family one of those foreign nationals a few generations ago?

"Ye guys are completely gullible, why ye keep getting caught up in media bull is beyond me. The yanks have a good President and their economy is rocking !!. Are you for real?! "good president"?! In addition to *everything* else he's already done in the last few months (tariffs, iran deal, paris agreement, to name just a few) he's just announced that America is withdrawing from the UN's Human Right Council. You *cannot* be *that* blind as to what road he's on, surely! " The only road I can see Trump is on from what you just wrote is he's on a road to fulfill his election campaign pledges. Weren't all those things you listed things he promised to do on his election campaign trail?...and was voted in on the basis he would honour and keep those promises.

"Sorry as a yank can't stay out of this. Greeting to the folks on the other side of the pond. We have so many keyboard warriors on here, everybody is entitled to their opinion but unfortunately a lot of people on here think their opionion is the only one that matters. Maybe people want the Bolivian prison system where convicts can take their whole family to prison with them.

"We are tired of going into debt, supporting the liberal, around the world ,crisis of the month. Quit looking to the U.S.America to solve your friggin problems. We are tired and over stretched in our finance's. So,as the English say,"Bugger Off". Let us get our house in order and we will get back to you. " I think you have that arse before tit! Remember it was your bankers that sold fraudulent junk to the rest of the world that caused the 2008 financial crash and it is your corporations that have gone round the world with their culture of hostile takeovers asset stripping and moving production to to low cost labour countries that has destroyed the manufacturing base of the western world (including the USA) and made China the economic power it is. So please take your phony indiignation and stick it right up your ignorant (as in ignores reality) arse, while you bend over to be buggared by the Koch brothers and their stooges the astroturf tea party and Trump.

"Oh please, like your Paris global warming treaty,oh sorry agreement didn't look to do the same thing. Here in America ,that has to be approved by the Senate. And the same for the agreement by Iran. Which we ended up giving pallets of cash. As for the banks that made out ,check your own laws. We elected Trump, cause nobody is too big to fail. And pretty sure your government agreed. So as I said, deal with your own crap and leave us alone. Why the hell you think we are raising tariffs. " God! Where to start?... So the Donald withdrew from the Paris Climate accord because it was too unfair on the USA. Problem with that is every country that signed up to is set its own targets. So to use an American idiom the Trumpster was just 'full of shit!'The only reason your president pulled out of the Iran deal is it had Obama's name on it, FFS at his first pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkeys he said if he could he would have ordered the slaughtering and eating of the 2 birds still alive that Obama pardoned. And the pallets of cash you mention were not your money, it was Iran's money held in your banks that your government had sized. As for his starting a trade war with the world that is just vintage Trump. It is how he has run his businesses all his life. He is a gouger, fraudster, confidence trickster and mob money launderer who thinks he can treat the rest of the world the way he has treated nearly every poor shmuck that has had the misfortune to believe that he would honour any deal he has ever made. Why did you elect him? As far as I am aware, he lost the popular vote by some 3 MILLION votes and was selected by an electoral college system that really is not fit for purpose because the vast majority of states give all electoral college votes to the state winner regardless of how close the result is. The fact that the political establishment of the USA are happy to let such a system continue without reform, just as they are happy to stand idly by while children are sacrificed in ever increasing numbers to placate an organisation of 2 million members in a country of about 300 million and the American people are not bringing the country to a standstill in order to force your politicians to act says a lot more about you than it does about the rest of the world. As for us minding our own, we would do so happily if you would stop destabilising the world because you see an opportunity to make a quick buck, because you've been at this now since the 50's and so far it has not worked anywhere. But hey ho, Bubba has the biggest guns and likes playing with them so the rest of us better get used to it. Only I think that maybe Bubba is in for a bit of a shock when the Donald finds that China is quite capable of giving Bubba an economic kicking the like of which CinC 'Bonespurs' Trump, his minions, regardless military might including his Space Force he now controls, will not be able to ignore.

"My apologies,by the end of the evening ,was a little tipsy and got distracted by other topics. But stand by my original post about the immigration issue. And as of yesterday President Trump signed a executive order halting the practice of separating families. Even though it is kinda of funny, that when President Obama's administration was doing this, not a peep. We are trying to solve this issue one way or another. It might appear ugly to some, but we are trying. We did the blanket amnesty back in the 80's for millions and put new laws on the books, which some have never been actually enforced , at the President's discretion. But we did pretty much nothing to secure the border and find ourselves in the same fix again. We cannot continue to have a porous border and continue as a nation. I can already see the cracks of tribalism appearing and sorry to say within 30 yrs.,the United States of America as you know it now will no longer exist. So that's my two cents for what it's worth. Have a Blessed Day. " Land of the free and the home of the brave.

Today (after he got hammered from all sides - nationally and internationally) he "halts" that practice and all is good. In his mind (and from your posts, I assume, yours too), it wasn't wrong yesterday and it still isn't today. You only go with it because the world was horrified by what we saw. NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, justifies such treatment of human beings, especially children. I understand you have a problem with immigration but supporting someone like Trump so blindly, says a lot about your moral compass too (talking about his supporters in general). And, btw, the United States of America as *you* know it today, hasn't been the same 30 years ago and, more notably, 300 years ago either (wink wink). Why should it be the same 30 years from now?

"The people do,as I still hope but the way the politicians are running some area's it is hard to tell anymore. California and New York are Democrat strongholds and two of the most populous state's. Here in Texas , Republican leaning. There is even a proposal on the ballet to split California into three separate state's . The more conservative rural areas feel underrepresented by being outvoted by the liberal big cities. Hope that helps. The one ,for California to secede didn't make it on the ballet. So we're having a few issues. But I hope that when it get's down to it, being an American from anywhere in the country still means something to each other. Hope that helps. " Thanks. In Europe, there is a growing discord between the richer nations and the poorer nations and those that are seeing increased migration against those that are avoiding/evading it. Let's hoping that solutions will be found to all problems.

"As far as any of that goes, President Trump was enforcing the law as written by a previous Congress. You are arrested for violating our border ,your children are not going to the same holding facility. And again where was the outrage when Obama was doing it. If I as a citizen break a law, my kids don't accompany me to prison. No I don't agree with the law as written, but we have for far too long not enforced it and others. One of the reasons President Trump was elected was to start enforcing the laws on the books. You either have rule of law or anarchy. That might seem harsh but it is what it is. Maybe we will wait and see how Europe handles the 80,000 marching up through the Balkans and learn something. " That is not true... the way the law was enforced before was that if they crossed the border they were assumed to be claiming asylum which makes the act legal and they were registered and told to make an immigration court on a certain date... the way the law is now being enforced is that people are being treated as criminal for crossing the border unless they say they are claiming asylum ( and they have said fleeing gangs for fear of death is not a good enough reason anymore) the zero tolerance part is all trump and sessions and that is what has caused this issue

"As far as any of that goes, President Trump was enforcing the law as written by a previous Congress. " No. The law gave the latitude to not forcibly separate children from their families, because that's needlessly cruel. There's a reason previous administrations haven't played at being child catchers. This administration however, specifically Trump, Miller and racist keebler elf Jeff Sessions, decided that being needlessly cruel to brown people was exactly what they want to do. Pretending that they're "just implementing the law" is just water carrying for cowards. More to the point, they're more than happy to admit they've chosen to be this wantonly cruel - so why are you making excuses for them?

" I find pointing out facts to Americans about their country both strange and condescending. But while republicans look for ways to gerrymander the Californian electorate as they have gerrymandered so many other states I think the American people would do well to remember that California is home to about 13% of the American population and on its own is the 5th largest economy in the world. California does not need the USA, I would not say the opposite is true.
