If ‘it’ refers to the UK, then he’s saying ‘it doesn’t matter if the UK is part of the Arctic, it’s still paying my bills’

Whereas if ‘it’ refers to Brexit, then he’s saying ‘it doesn’t matter if Brexit is part of the Arctic, it’s still paying my bills’

I like the way you wrote this on another thread.

"You have every right to be fussy! I won’t meet just anyone either. Mind you, you guys look saucy! And close by (I am in hessle)".

.

You never asked them if they voted brexit though, just pics of the wife's tits out and lived close by was good enough

I can imagine the conversation:

“Wanna fuck me, big boy?”

“I’m of the econo-political view that unhindered free trade is the way to improve the lives of all, so I voted to leave the EU at the referendum”

That’s the thing though, you guys have this as your hobby and you have each other. A lot of people do this to find friends or even partners. When you’re spending large amounts of time with people, those sort of things matter

I voted remain and would class myself as a proud and loud remoaner... the kind of person who'll be committed to taking us back into Europe after we leave, just as UKIP wanted us out, despite our previous vote to join.

However... there is a popular misnomer amongst remoaners that those who voted leave are all a bunch of ignorant bigots. Where they are, of course I wouldn't want to play with them. Bigotry, of all its crimes, is so unsexy. However, it's now clear that a sizeable amount of people who voted leave aren't bigots... most notably those who didn't really understand what they were voting against but just wanted to stick their fingers up at the elites. Unlike bigots, such people aren't intrinsically unsexy.

So, in short, I've given up blaming 52% of our country for totally bringing our country to its knees and forever downgrading us on the global stage. Now I just blame the tories... and the ineffectual Labour party

"So as a committed remainer, not sure I would click with anyone who voted Brexit.. discuss"

In my opinion you should always talk with people who vote for brexit and slowly explained them how they was manipulated by Tories and UKIP and this whole Brexit campaign was base on lies for example £100 mln back to NHS repeted by FarCUNTge.

Also you should remaind them about resignation of Cameron who don't want take responsibility for it and leave it for poor May, I think she is so stupid she still don't know what is going on. I suppose she is sure this whole battle is for that to bring blue passports again ...

So on the end it's left explained them that only person who is called bloody commie, grandson of Karl Marks and biggest antisemitic in the UK (Mr. J. Corbyn) have solutions how to minimalism a damage after this morons who played with prejudice UK citizen to others nations specially when migrants crisis began.

Also you can remaind them who start war on the middle east and who should take responsibility for that (Blair, Bush and most of country in ONZ). Litlle lesson of History maybe can help them to admit that they made mistake and they regret it?

Because if you left that kind persons who have problem with logic thinking for themselves they will convince other peapole by fear and prejudice to they iracional and stupid idea and we can have familiar situation like in 1934 in Germany and all we know how this was end right?

Most people vote based on what they have read in the newspapers and very few people ever use critical thinking about what they are reading.

I very rarely read anything in the mainstream news and I voted Brexit based on economics and there's tons of economic history to learn from.

Not everyone who voted for Brexit voted because they thought the NHS was going to get more money. (I didn't even know that was advertised on a bus or even part of the campaign) and not everyone who voted to leave is racist even if the BBC keeps saying they are.

My main reason for voting leave was because the person who was put in charge of signing off the accounts refused to and had to become a whistleblower because she was put under a lot of pressure by the corrupt unelected undemocratic people in Brussels and anyone who knows anything about economics knows the Euro will collapse.

I wouldn't really care what someone voted as long as the could explain a reason that they thought was credible.

1) Because we will be governed by people elected in this country.

2) we are the second highest contributor and we will end up with more money staying in the country in the long term.

3) the money we get back from Europe has to be spent the way they tell us to spend it so our politicians can say they have to spend money the way Europe tells them to.

4) We will make our own laws rather than having laws imposed by people who are not elected.

5) we will b able to trade with other countries with out being tied into noncompetitive protectionist policies that favour European farmers and keep food prices high.

6) 5000 of monetary history shows no fiat currenct ha ever lated long term and theres a new monetary system every 37 years on average.

7) the european system has one currency but individual bonds which the europeans were told it wouldn't work when it was set up but over time people who set up the euro system left and now they are starting to talk about euro bonds which shows how incompetent politicians are at economics.

8) we could set up a points base immigration system which is the best and fairest for everyone.

9) crime rates would be less because there are a huge number or immigrants in prisons which cost the tax payer money.

10) the banking system in europe is only being propped up by the central banks printing money.

11) Italian banks are very risky and so are the french banks.

Greece still has not been sorted out.

Ireland is in a mess and the people there are starting to go on marches because of water prices and fraud committed by their government.

12) the European accounts have never been signed off because there are no proper systems in place to stop fraud.

centralised power ever works for the citizens because power corrupts.

13) Europe was in theory (not fact) set up to stop European countries going to war with one another but the world has changed and everything is soo interconnected and much more complex that it is extremely unlikely a war would happen because no one could predict the out come and the winners and losers.

what are the reasons for staying in?

I love the way some people think leaving is going to be like entering nirvana and some think staying would be wonderful. Let's face it they're probably both a bit crap. This is the real world after all.

In my mind it was simply a choice between going forward with internationalism and the struggle to erect world peace, regardless of what a botch job we were making of it, or returning to an age of empires, of tariffs and embargoes, of rising aggressive nations seeking to eat up old weak ones under the banner of patriotism.

There are certain political views that I would end things on. All of them heavily linked with the Brexit camp. But everyone makes mistakes! I'd like to think I could get past that if they were special and still a nice, decent person.

Some of my friends voted for it. And aside from me shouting the odd obscenity at them, nothing has really changed.

You have been misinformed about Ireland buddy the water marches where about paying for water on top of paying for water via our taxation.

Ireland is also not in a mess yes the financial crash hurt us but we have turned around and now have near full employment (2% unemployment) so don't try and use us as a reason for brexit

I agree. However I read the op as saying "if it came out that they voted leave". Similarly "if it came out that they were atheist". In either case it would have to have been them that brought the issue up, not me. I'm the same as you. I don't bring it into my play. Heck, I don't even mention this stuff on a first date.

If they brought either of these things up I *may* get put off. As I said earlier. It all depends on their approach to it though. I've met a few swingers who, pre play, have decided it's wise to mock religion with me and pin their flag to the atheist mast. Why the heck they feel this relates in any way I don't know. I haven't yet been put off someone for doing this. I just brush it off and change the subject. But if they were too arrogant about it (as some can be on the forums) I could easily see myself going floppy pretty quick. It wouldn't be because I've got a particular problem with the atheist arguments against a god (apart from being bored silly by them). It would just be because they killed the buzz

Historical revisionism at its best It was 48.1 to 51.9. Or a better way of remembering it is if 635,000 had voted differently it would have gone the other way. That's how decisive the mandate of the British public was.

I wish there was an emoji for "pulling my hair out"!

Ok, deep breaths and here we go:

"1) Because we will be governed by people elected in this country."

The same old chestnut!!!

If we weren't governed by people elected in this country, we wouldn't have elections regularly *in this country*!

It's *because* of the fact that *we are governed by people elected in this country* that the whole country is going to shit!

" 2) we are the second highest contributor and we will end up with more money staying in the country in the long term."

" 3) the money we get back from Europe has to be spent the way they tell us to spend it so our politicians can say they have to spend money the way Europe tells them to."

That old chestnut, part 2!!!

When was the last time you checked the amount of subsidies our various industries get from the EU? For example, the farming industry alone get a total of 3BN a year. Do you really think OUR government will be giving them that kind of money after brexit? In fact, the government minister for this industry said that they will only guarantee this subsidy until (I think) 2023 BUT they'll change the rules about who's eligible to receive it (thus reducing the amount of money they have to pay out).

If you add up ALL the amounts/industries, as well as the funding for various projects, research, education, etc (assuming our government will replace those funds) how sure are you that we'll be saving money?

I'll answer for you: our government WILL NOT replace the funding resulting to the decline of everything that loses out on that money.

I could go on rebutting the rest of your points but (and I mean no disrespect) I cannot be bothered because it's a waste of time trying to reason with anyone who has made up his/her mind about something first and then regurgitates chestnuts from all over in order to justify it (and, unfortunately, that's the case with many people who voted brexit because they fell for the rhetoric "we/our government is perfect. EU is the cause of all our ills". Fine, if you're a politician but for the average citizen to think like that is self-destructive).

However, I will briefly comment on points 9 and 13 because I think it's important.

" 9) crime rates would be less because there are a huge number or immigrants in prisons which cost the tax payer money."

What "huge" number is that? Do you have percentages? In addition, if all them huge numbers of immigrants are already in prison, who is out and commits all them crimes, thus keeping the crime rate high? Surely it'd have fallen.

" 13) Europe was in theory (not fact) set up to stop European countries going to war with one another but the world has changed and everything is soo interconnected and much more complex that it is extremely unlikely a war would happen because no one could predict the out come and the winners and losers. "

If that was the case, neither us nor any other country would be spending BILLIONS on military and defence, especially while still a member of the EU.

------------

To answer the OP's question, I ALWAYS ask/discuss certain "sensitive" subjects when I meet up with someone for a social. Sex and all that is good but I'd rather not let anyone who is, for example, racist and/or prejudiced and/or extremist in any way, etc etc touch me. Or generally a tool. And, to me, my principles are way more important than getting some cock on a particular day/from a particular person.

1) Because we will be governed by people elected in this country.

The same old chestnut!!!

If we weren't governed by people elected in this country, we wouldn't have elections regularly *in this country*!

It's *because* of the fact that *we are governed by people elected in this country* that the whole country is going to shit!

Most of the laws in this country are written in Europe even people who think Europe is a goo thing know this.

This country has been fucked because of lobbyists for large corporations and banks more than it has by the government.

Having a two party system is what has fucked the country as well because we have a first past the post system and because we are not allowed to vote on policies we have to vote for parties. Being in europe or out of europe won't change any of these things.

2) we are the second highest contributor and we will end up with more money staying in the country in the long term.

3) the money we get back from Europe has to be spent the way they tell us to spend it so our politicians can say they have to spend money the way Europe tells them to.

That old chestnut, part 2!!!

When was the last time you checked the amount of subsidies our various industries get from the EU? For example, the farming industry alone get a total of 3BN a year. Do you really think OUR government will be giving them that kind of money after brexit?

You obviously don't understand that the Common Agricultural Policy is were the most fraud is committed in Europe. The UK receives less than half what France gets, despite a similar sized economy and population.

Here is something from the internet that is worth knowing about the CAP:

Farmers represent 3% of the EU’s population. They generate (together with the agri-food business) roughly 6% of the Union’s GDP. Yet they receive 30% of the EU’s total budget through CAP handouts. Europe’s taxpayers hand over €58 billion in subsidies to this tiny, unproductive minority. In times of economic hardship that just doesn’t make sense.

If you add up ALL the amounts/industries, as well as the funding for various projects, research, education, etc (assuming our government will replace those funds) how sure are you that we'll be saving money?

I'll answer for you: our government WILL NOT replace the funding resulting to the decline of everything that loses out on that money.

You have just prooved wht I was saying. First we pay in more then we take out which means once we are out we will have more money. The money we get back from europe HAS to be spent the way they tell us to spend it and we do not elect the europeans who tell us how we can spend the money.

I don't think I said any of the above and it doesn't address any of the points I did say.

However, I will briefly comment on points 9 and 13 because I think it's important.

9) crime rates would be less because there are a huge number or immigrants in prisons which cost the tax payer money.

What "huge" number is that? Do you have percentages? In addition, if all them huge numbers of immigrants are already in prison, who is out and commits all them crimes, thus keeping the crime rate high? Surely it'd have fallen.

this is from the indepentant news paper:

A spokesperson for the Home Office said: “We have removed more than 41,000 foreign offenders since 2010. In 2016-17 we removed 6,346 foreign offenders, the highest number of removals ever and this week, like every week, more than 100 foreign criminals will be removed from the UK.

There are also nearly 500 people who have gone missing after the have served there sentence.

Freedom of Information request by the Press Association shows that 494 foreign national offenders disappeared while they were subject to deportation action between 2014 and the end of March 2016.

The fairest way to deal with immigration is to have strong borders and a points based immigration system.

13) Europe was in theory (not fact) set up to stop European countries going to war with one another but the world has changed and everything is soo interconnected and much more complex that it is extremely unlikely a war would happen because no one could predict the out come and the winners and losers.

If that was the case, neither us nor any other country would be spending BILLIONS on military and defence, especially while still a member of the EU.

The UK arms industry is the second biggest arms exporter in the world and we have about 9% share of the global market. We export a large proportion of that to Europe, north america and the middle east.

Politicians own shares in arms industries which is why we spend millions on weapons but can't fund the NHS or other areas.

One of the lies people were told was that Europe isn't trying to build a European army but after the brexit vote they admitted they were creating a European army.

War is about making money being in europe or out won't change that.

------------

To answer the OP's question, I ALWAYS ask/discuss certain "sensitive" subjects when I meet up with someone for a social. It's amusing. The subtext of this notion that, should parliament undo the wishes of "the people" (i.e the 52%) the country will descend into bloody riots and burn to the ground. However, if we leave and everything goes to pot, the 48% will act rationally and mild mannered and just shrug and say "oh well, worth a try, let's see what we can do to salvage things"

The subtext is pretty clear about which side intelligence and reasoning is on and which side is dangerously animalistic and capable of supporting the rise of dark fascistic forces. I say us remainers should start sharpening our pitch forks and even the playing field a bit

I would probably be more likely to shag a brexit voter than have an LTR but I'm open minded. I'd also probably be more likely to enjoy a social/shag and an LTR with a remain voter than a brexit voter but I'd insist on giving either side a good chance, all other things being equal.
