As much as I hate politics there is to much of it around to not effect us all in someway in life, and this subject is one of them.. Its in the pipeline to take effect and the chance,s are it will but as usual of course politicians get the first say over it not the common people who it will really effect and I think its very unfair it was only Disclosed this tuesday about a week After the local elections I don,t really have any trust in anyone particular party I never have done but if there is a vote loser for me THIS IS ONE to me it feels like a betrayal of the british people, parliament has taken the easy route and gone this way, Instead of even trying to look elsewhere to pay these loans back where the finance might be and I,m sure is... what are peoples views on this.

i haven't read the details, but this sounds like a scam that's been dreamt up by the Tory chums in the city.

There is no pension pot, only a set of numbers on a giant spreadsheet.

They money I pay in NI that gets credited to my account, well, the actual cash goes straight back to pay my mum's state pension.

Has always been thus.

The pension is a giant state IOU.

This sounds like another of rewrapping debt and selling it on.

From work colleagues at work I heard this they were not makeing it up unless what they heard was fake I,m sorry I can,t give you anymore than that but I found it strange on here nobody had mentioned these proposals I,ll try and find out more... Sorry about this I find it odd.

If someone is collecting a pension and is earning a decent wage as well then why should they not pay tax ? It’s only fair as I do know a few people who have very good pensions and are still working as well

Could well be, because god forbid anyone would suggest that the businesses that fail to pay any tax on the billions they make every year actually start paying some tax.

It's this yes. It was a suggestion that they should still pay NI if they are working. No government will have the balls to implement this so don't worry. Certainly one who's core voters are all heading that way.

It really gets my goat when time after time a certain sector of the population become the focus of blame for the perceived ills of another sector of society. It is always the same - someone is being targeted and blamed.

The Govt could easily help the younger generation with housing by providing a one time, State sponsored mortgage account at 95/97.5% LTV. The due diligence would be greater and more onerous T&C but it could be done. The Americans have a similar thing called an FHA loan but that is not restricted to young people. Further, the Govt could replace Corporation Tax with a Transaction Tax and stop dead in the water the concept of shifting money around the world to mitigate tax.

It has already been done...

Remember the plan is for their to be a maximum payment ceiling on all new wealth redistribution taxes (or course they are not being called that although that is what they are).
