"I was right about Amber Rudd, let’s go, place your bets "

Unlike Rudd's post, no one in their right mind would want to be prime minister for the tories right now. They'll keep May to weather the storm (from brexit to everything else within the country currently and in the near future) and they'll get rid of her as soon as things calm down/get to the final stretch (especially brexitwise).

Anyone want to wager who will be the next person the Tories push to being their next gamble for PM?

Boris, Rudd, and Gove all seemed to be put forward as candidates in the last 2 years, yet I think all have had too big a public blunder to get the nominations.

Rees-Mogg has so far declined interest in the role, though I think once Mrs May is out he'll angle towards it.

Anyone see any others?

All of the above. Never underestimate a Tory's arrogance, ambition and manipulation skills. Saying that, it's who will kiss more asses to get the most backing from the rest of the party.

I'm aware that the tories themselves will put these people forward, but I think most back benchers will look for alternatives.

I mean JRM is like marmite.

Amber Rudd has shown national incompetence.

Boris is seen as all flare with no attention to detail where it counts.

Gove is marmite and is seen as a man who largely cocked up education reform.

So are there any tories who are fresher face who might be able to get party backing and public popularity, as that is the first hurdle.

Central

No one wants to take the job today though many want it - as others say, they are waiting to take it at a safer time. They have no balls, honour or scruples and are solely there for themselves, not country.

Jezza humiliates himself just by walking into Commons

She's definitely the walking dead she's far to damaged now. She'll bail and moggy or Boris will step up both carrying to much negative baggage to be electable .Jezzas a possibility but I think some young labour MP will replace him and well have a labour leader as PM.

Bristol East

Rees Mogg is to the Tories what Corbyn is to Labour.

He may appeal to diehards, but he'll have a job persuading the country he is fit to lead.

May will be kept in her misery for so long as the Brexit shambles is still up in the air.

The extremists in her party will strike when they think it's coming to the boil.

Then she'll be toast.

Whoever comes in can blame whatever mess on the predecessor.

It'll be a contest between one of the lunatic fringe of the Tory right - take your pic from Fox, Johnson, Mogg and Gove - and someone from the moderates. My money is on Javid.

I would be surprised if a remainer and the son of a Pakistani immigrant will be next PM .I just don't think the country is ready to elect him. Cameron said he expects to see an Asian pm in his lifetime.Im guessing he's got 40 years left to see this.
