"The commission has concerns that the companies involved may have violated EU antitrust rules that prohibit cartels and restrictive business practices,” it said in a statement, after raiding offices in several member states."

Bloody Brussels coming over here and busting hardworking British companies etc etc, bizarrely it looks like The Sun & The Times have missed this scoop

Massive fine...

With luck him and his son will be declared unfit to run media outlets and be stripped of their publishing licences. Maybe even get a little jail time too...

Newcastle and Gateshead

comcast offically make their bid for Sky plc today...

they are offering to buy the company all cash at 16% higher than the murdoch 21st century fox deal.....

and ofcom and the regulator has said that if they say so to the murdoch sky bid under media plurality laws, that Disney (who are basically buying all the murdoch bits other than the movie and us tv arms) would be allowed to bid seperately for sky plc....

so it looks like sky will either be owned by Comcast (Who own NBC) or Disney (Who own ABC)

the winners out of the whole sky deal may well be Sky News (both NBC and ABC news divisions would love Sky news international coverage) and Sky Sports (which may have expanded sport deals with NBCSN and ESPN)
