" So are they still the law and order, and defence party? " No. I would say their chickens are coming home to roost but the roost has already been privatised, asset stripped and sold off! But then are any of the opposition parties any better?

"You think Labour are any better, think back and guess why they were voted out of running the country. England does not have a party worth voting for." I agree that Labour are no better, but that wasn't the question. I'd the SNP doing better or was a it Putin or Don the Con that you wanted the opportunity to vote for ? ![]()

I ain't a clue all as bad as one another at mo" Scotland have the SNP to vote for and although I do not agree with all they do, they still have Scotland's interests at heart . that's why they have been voted into power in Scotland. . ![]()

"They stopped being the party of law and order and defence under Camaron but they are still better on defence than Labour by about 250%. Howvever on law and order I think even Labour beat them, there is no party of law and order in this country,if there was I would vote for them." ![]() ![]()

I ain't a clue all as bad as one another at mo" Hit the nail on the head! However why is it so bad? Could it be we now have career politicians? They only have to do 15 yrs as am MP and they have a massive pension pot of £900k and if they do 20yrs they have over a £1.2m. So they just look to keep their very lucrative job and all the perks!

Career politicians are THE problem. Far too many (from all parties) get themselves a safe seat when in their 30's or 40's then clutter up the back benches for decades. Now that there are fixed term parliaments I think that a two term limit should apply to all MP's who haven't made it to cabinet or shadow cabinet. It's high time the Lords was de-cluttered as well.

Career politicians or ambitious politicians? Nothing wrong with 'career' politicians who put working on behalf of their constituents before any promotion prospects. It is usually the MPs who make it to cabinet level that have been 'tainted'. The party system is one of the problems, at local government and parliamentary level. You just have to attend a local council meeting to see it. A few will speak out if they feel what is being proposed is wrong but most meekly toe the party line.
