This about sums it up. A Brexit voter being treated in a French hospital bit not wanting to tell anyone until he's benefitted.

Goes to show how much the UK is paying into the EU and how the EU countries are benefiting.

Once the UK is out of EU some of the cash we pay in yearly will go to make our NHS better

ofcourse everyone should indeed plan ahead and have their own private medical insurance to cover situations such as above.

what was the op anyway? I don't use suspicious links from strange characters on forums

Fair enough about the link. NY Times. The original link is through News Republic which gives me a mix of news including everything from RT to Al Jazeera to the Guardian. Had to filter out the Mail though as it's just too fantastical and I can read its opinion in the views on the forums anyway

I'm not sure that you quite understand the point of an NHS if you think that everyone should have private medical insurance. About 10% have it currently.

Please also stop asserting that any more money will be available for the NHS. You simply don't know and as ever ignore the current and future potential loss to the UK treasury through reduced economic activity, reduced tariffs and/or reduced corporate taxation and employment benefits to encourage businesses to stay or relocate to a smaller, weaker country.

I've just read the article.

All it highlighted was that the NHS is in a shit state and the operation was done in France.

Sending patients abroad for treatment is nothing new...

And maybe you need to tweak your fantastical filter...

No thanks. It's just fine. I'm glad you find it useful. To some extent I do too because I usually discover a lot once I have a dig at the source material and see how it's been spun

It was more the attitude of the person in the article that was of particular interest.

However, for a strong country that feels that it can stand alone in the world it's not a great advert.

Please spare me any nonsense about spending more on the NHS when we leave the EU. Considering it appears that any forward predictions of the economy after Brexit have been written of as lies their is no way that such a claim can be backed up. So please don't bother.
