"https://medium.com/incerto/the-most-intolerant-wins-the-dictatorship-of-the-small-minority-3f1f83ce4e15 From Nassim Taleb's new book we see how any intolerent minority end up leading a laissez faire minority. We can see this in action with the virulent spread of divisive and wrong feminist ideologies, better out than in for Britain and so on. Worth nothing when you think to yourself...."what's the harm?" " What do you mean by "wrong feminist ideologies"?

"Ignorance of biochemistry when it comes to discussions involving socialisation, convincing relatively very well off women in the world that they never had it worse, bastardisation of statistics in the form of the "pay gap", promoting a culture of oversensitivity instead of self reliance and many more. Directly relevant to the main point would be new rules on pronouns to cater to a tiny minority of genderfluid people. Seems harmless unless you know about the persuasive effect of small concessions. " Concessions to your male privilege, it sounds more like. No-one ever gave up privilege willingly, and your post just illuminates that.

"Clearly the original point wasn't understood (or even read?). Not even entertaining the privilege nonsense. " It was. But think you missed the point yourself with your feminist comment.

"Did I? There is the fervent minority for sure" There is, although amusingly they don't always see themselves that way....

"Did I? There is the fervent minority for sure" Yes you did. I think what confused you is the term "intolerant", which is seen today more often as a negative trait and term of abuse with regard to people's views. But the writer of that piece meant it in the sense of rigid beliefs. That in complex social systems a small number of people with rigid beliefs can change the whole thing. He illustrated it in the paragraph where he talks about science. If it weren't for intolerant scientists who weren't willing to accept the status quo, then we'd still be living in the dark ages believing the world was flat and the sun orbits the earth. But you've obviously jumped on the word in the headline and associated it with an agenda you clearly don't like, then entirely misunderstood the point of the piece. Go read it again but leave any agenda behind when you do.

We can see this in action with the virulent spread of divisive and wrong feminist ideologies, better out than in for Britain and so on. Worth nothing when you think to yourself...."what's the harm?" " The basis of this comment is fine. By definition a minority must start any process of change. The test is if this minority effect change but remain a minority imposing their will on everybody else. In general this might not be considered a good outcome. If they change everyone's mind such that this becomes the majority view then, in general, this might be considered positive. That assumes a neutral view on what this change is. I think that what is proving to be controversial is your assertion that feminism is "bad". Following this up by implying that middle class western women are being made to,feel dissatisfied with a blissful existence was not helpful either. How are you defining feminism? Do you think that men and women are equally treated in any society? Do you think that trying to change society both in the west and the rest of the world is a bad thing?
