Thornaby

We live in a world, a country, where people thirst for simple solutions to what are very complex issues.

Ukip

SNP

Brexit

Trump

AfD

All put forward simple solutions to what are very complex issues, all of the issues are are caused by "the outsider", the "not us"

This is how the far right and far left play on people.

How dummed down are we going to go?

Unfortunately it was ever thus, only answer I think is education so that people become well informed enough about history to see through the lies and bullshit.

"

Probably a lot further down than present - these people are often not that smart and won't stop trying to get what they want.

I wish we could have a party that was neither right of left wing just a party that did the right thing for the people !!!

Yes I know everyone has a different idea as to what is right for us all

West London

That has been sold the world over. Generation after generation.

This cycle was generated by the 2008 crash. Global finance recovered but people's lives did not.

Under times of stress you don't blame your tribe or yourself. You blame "others".

When getting rid of the external other fails an "other" is created internally.

It's easy to tear things down in anger. Reconstructing them again is hard.

Trite Nonsense

We don't advocate that people become homeless or addicts or other forms of "rock bottom" to develop a good foundation.

Why do it for a country?

Irony alert.... “”dummed” down lol

I agree though. Falling educational standards, unrecognised cognitive bias and the ability to live a life in an echo chamber is not healthy for the individual or the country at large.

“UKIP - Simple solutions for simple people” is something that I have been saying for years, but it also applies to other contemporary national and world issues when people take a rigid and over-simplistic stand.
