Is it right that a MSP should go on Im a Celebrity get me out of here!!!

Do you think it is right she is heading to the jungle rather than carrying out her job which many people voted her in, to do??

this is what she says on her website;

They get 2 months off in the summer. The Scottish Parliament summer recess in 2018 is 30 June to 3 September. If the parliament required them to be in constant communications then they wouldn't give them two months off at a time.

That said however, I think politicians should be paid a wage where they can live on their salary, and not allowed to do any additional work.

I don't know how much MSPs get (but I think Sturgeon gets more than May (might be wrong)), but MPs get enough to survive without additional work. County and district councillors don't get enough to survive on, and so either can't fully concentrate on their work, or is reserved for those independently wealthy or with a wealthy spouse/partner.

Many have second jobs.In 2015 7.4 million was registered from second jobs.Plenty of MPs pull in more than the PM.

She slagged off Dorries for doing pretty much exactly the same thing. She had altered her Register of Interests to remove the commitment to give all her outside earnings to charity. Her behaviour is no different to Dorries and anyone who criticised Dorries should do the same to Dugdale.

As far as I am concerned no elected member of a law making parliment should hold a second job.

With the exception of those who need to carry out a minimum number of hours to retain a professional qualification.

Your dates don't match..The comment about not having second jobs was made in 2014 and the reported paid 'jobs' were from a year later. So it could have been true in 2014.

I think no MP of wherever should be paid by any company who may benefit from government help or that invests in dubious or life- threatening ventures eg arms supply, things that contribute to climate change or slave labour etc
