"ONS figures just out show average UK workers productivity has fallen again! Apparently per man-hour we are producing about 26% less than equivalent German workers! Get your fingers out folks!" I bet that if you check over the last 10/20/30/40 years, year on year German industry has invested much more on updating production technology than British industry. | |||

Of course they work harder, everything is written in German! German is a much harder language. If I had to translate all my work into German, it would take me at least 26% longer. | |||

" Exactly the argument I wished to provoke. All I did was quote the headlines the way they are so often reported in the media.....without the background.
