"It's not a particular problem providing it's just sewage and it's far enough out!. It's a bit of a waste though as it makes very good fertilizer which we desperately need" The right combo of microorganisms could break down the shit and urine into methane. I mean shit is mainly fibre, dead red blood cells and lipid fats. The issue is laying new sewage ground works to collect the waste, and then having filters to stop the organic matter from plastic waste matter which also gets flushed.

"Unfortunately people put a lot of stuff down the loo which should go in a bin - baby wipes, cotton buds etc all end up on beaches - check out the Marine Conservation Society beach survey results." Up, honestly, we need a global task force to sort that shit out. There's that Dutch chap who is trying t create something to 'sweep the ocean' of plastic I think.

"Unfortunately people put a lot of stuff down the loo which should go in a bin - baby wipes, cotton buds etc all end up on beaches - check out the Marine Conservation Society beach survey results." 8 million tons of plastic per year are dumped into the world's oceans! By any stretch of the imagination, even on here, thats a hell of a lot of plastic!

"There was a picture in the sun newspaper today of a clip from the program blue planet 2 showing a whale that has been dragging it's dead baby's body around for ten day's, they reckon it died from drinking it's mothers milk which has turned toxic from the pollution it's mother has been eating! They didn't say what the pollution was but it's highly likely it was radioactive ![]() Then we'd surely see an epidemic in that area, not a one off.

They didn't say what the pollution was but it's highly likely it was radioactive ![]() Sorry but it is highly unlikely it was radioactive pollution - more likely PCBs which are fat soluble and accumulate in top predators like whales. Test carcasses washed up on UK coasts have shown very high levels. A lot of this is a legacy as many of these chemicals have been banned but will take many decades to reduce in the environment and whales are long-lived animals.

"It's high time we banned cremations as well. Body's make good compost ![]() . Doesn't quite work like that I'm afraid! Ash would be a relatively good fertilizer if it's the right material ash but body's do so much more they feed the bacteria, the worms, the microbes, bugs and creep crawlies which give you the best result ![]()

Radioactive elements tend to be heavy ones, they like to accumulate in top feeders as well, they poison you just like lead or any other heavy elements, of course there also good at staying in your system and giving you dosages of radioactivity for generations, it's no coincidence that since the Iraqi invasion and the tonnes of DU fired over there, birth abnormalities have risen considerably

Define surrounding area,3 miles, 30 miles, 300 miles, there's sheep in Snowdonia that's still not safe to eat!. Belarus has seen significant increases in various forms of cancer, the UK has seen significant increases in some types of cancer, there not entirely sure what the cause is but nobody's proved it's not Chernobyl fall out either
