Plans finalised today for Boeings first European factory.

It will be here in the UK, in Sheffield. A smallish factory, manufacturing wing flap actuators.

Exporting to their other plants.

Great news for the region.

With inward investment into the UK higher than any other European country over the last 12 months there will be plenty of good news to come. Things are looking up

Yeah, it might even counteract the thousands of jobs at risk at Airbus:

This was great news 6 months ago in February, when it was first announced. However I'm not sure that it's such great news that it requires us all to say again what good news it was.

When i read the OP I was thinking 200 to 300 jobs "smallish Boeing factory" minimum.......

Office jobs, receptionist, cleaners, security guard maybe and a few skilled / semi skilled jobs.

I don't mean to put a downer on things but I'd struggle to call that "news worthy: never mind "great" for the region.

I do get the feeling there was a method in the OP's reason for posting it ....maybe trying to claim its a brexit deal?

Maybe, thing is there's nothing so far good about Brexit, i don't know of any foreign company that has stated they can't wait to open up shop in the UK after Brexit, there's only bad news after bad news.

Many leave voters complain about the negativity on here about Brexit but when there's only negatives happening you may find they have to dig deep for anything positive no matter how small.

My local McDonald's is hiring, great for the region?? maybe so

The planning permission has just been finalised, so was a local news story again in Sheffield. But they didn't apply to build it here in France.

Think that was a scaremongering opinion, with actually no factual basis.

Fucking hell, at last a positive brexit story. You must be so happy locating one you could shit.

Meanwhile Japans largest bank announced yesterday it is planning to move its investment bank from London to Amsterdam.

Morgan Stanley and Citigroup are going to Frankfurt, HSBC to Paris and Bank Of America and Barclays are going to Dublin.

All unnecessary and for what single benefit are we getting out of this whole Brexit fiasco? I haven't seen anyone name a single tangible positive.

So how many jobs have we lost then? This good news story is about creating 30 jobs. Brexit hasn't cost more than 30 jobs has it?

Who said it was a brexit story?

It's just the country getting on with business as usual and being succesful. It's just what most people do.
