43% of veterinary surgeons in 2014 came from non-UK EU countries. Much much higher than I would have thought.

You ever seen how tough it is to become a qualified vet in the UK?

5 years university 2 years follow on,70k of debt.

Hardly surprising there filling it with cheaper alternatives

Vets from an eu state need to be qualified to uk standard AND pass an exam in the uk to be accredited to work here...

So...... you are wrong

She paid just under 10k euros to be qualified as a vet, she's just turned 31.

The chap she works with is 26 newly qualified, the 2nd year in university he passed his pharmacology exam (brutally hard), they don't let you actually practise on animals anymore because of the animal welfare groups threats, theres two universities in England to choose from so your nearly always miles from home, you spend your first three years with doctors, two more specialising then in animals and another two doing other stuff he's got just under 100k euros of university debt.

Its pretty fucking obvious why 40% of vets are EU nationals

Right, so what what will happen when the government reduces immigration to less than 100,000?

What I find hilarious about the EU immigration argument of these racist xenophobes is they want to stop usually multilingual (with good english) well or highly educated eastern europeans from coming to the UK and forget that they will be replaced with much poorer educated non english speaking asians mainly from the Indian subcontinent (mostly Pakistanis if past history is anything to go on). So the bigoted racists xenophobes are crowing about kicking white christian europeans and replacing them with brown asian muslims.

Ah, the ironic reality of brexit! LoL

Really?

So what is racist about what I said?

Is it that I used very plain language to point out the massive inconsistency in the argument put forward by many brexiteers in they say they want to take back control (that we never lost) of a border to stop the hoards who have invaded the EU and are waiting in Calais and along the EU western seaboard for their opportunity to come here?

Or is it that I pointed out where we traditionally got our immigrant workforce from and their general level of education?

Or is it that you don't like reading the stark truth so hope that if you label me a racist then everyone will just pile on with you without giving any thought to what I said?

No..

whilst one would prefer a hard border to cock his leg upon, they have no other idea what Brexit will be..

bit like the Government and us then..

I'd love to read your reason for saying that his post is racist.

You obviously wouldn't just shoot your gob off labelling someones post racist without good reason would you ? and not just because you disagree

The comment was about those who come to this country to work and their levels of education. Nothing to do with race, except for how it was used to reinforce the borders argument for brexit as against the reality. Now if you are suggesting that the vast majority of immigrants from the indian subcontinent (prior to our membership of the EU) were university educated or could even speak english I am afraid I will have to call you delusional. Now I accept that many doctors did come here from the Indian subcontinent, but they were the exceptions to the rule not the rule.

However I will point out that the majority of those who come here from eastern europe are university educated and read, write and speak english much better than many native born English.
